"Nice but too cramped"
If you are tall you will be claustrophobic in the "bathroom" . An old phone booth is twice as large as the shower stall, so don't drop the soap and try to pick it up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms and elevators too small. Bathrooms are tiny. Staff was attentive and curtious. Location is it's best asset.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Avant Garde - cozy"
My idea of great non-big box experience. If you need uber space, this is not the place. The adjacent restaurant has really good fresh and unique versions of more traditional dishes. Looking for a Seattle metro experience? This is the real deal! I was on a one night business trip, but I would definitely do a vacation visit here as well.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good location and a different type of hotel"
Loved the hotel themed decor. Stayed on the Rock N' Roll floor, not tacky, very tastefully done. Room was cheerful and although tiniest bathroom ever, still a comfortable stay. The French wine Bar around the corner was awesome. The restaurant attached to hotel too pricey for me. Location was perfect; manageable walk to Pike's Market. Would stay again […] but because of bathroom, not a long stay Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Within Walking distance of everything"
The hotel was within walking distance from everything. The hotel was cute with a slight modern feel. Everyone was very helpful. The downside for me was that the room and bathroom was "cozy" - meaning very small, compared to how the pictures showcased the rooms (the pictures made you think the rooms and bathrooms were much bigger); but if you don't mind […] a cozy room, I had a comfortable stay. I had a view of the "city" which was just a parking lot, but I guess that it can't be helped. Some rooms were facing the back of a building which was up against another building. The hotel did add a couple of perks to make your say nice. You could choose any kind of pillow you wanted and it was brought up to your room! I got a body pillow which was great for being pregnant and traveling! Overall really good hotel for a short trip! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Max - Good for a mini-stay."
Rooms are very small, but sufficient for a short stay. You are definitely paying a higher price for the location. We could hear other guests, being amorous, through the walls, but the air conditioner can drown out most noises. Staff was very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient hotel in Seattle center"
Close to Amazon, Cap Hill, downtown, shopping etc. Perfect for business trips and vacation. The only downside is being held hostage to the two super slow and small elevators. I would have taken the steps but the hotel does not allow access to the room floors using the steps. If you stay here, allow plenty of time for getting in and out of the building […] since you may wait awhile for an elevator. I loved the staff, room and location. "Regular Seattle Traveler Gets Creepy Hotel Room."
I checked in at 8. "I am sorry, we have some bad news for you. The rooms were shuffled and your Queen is no longer available. We are putting you in a double. No credit. No "real" apology. Nothing. I travel to Seattle three times a month on business. I move around to different hotels, typically based on price. I have learned not to go for the low end. […] This hotel room was BY FAR the creepiest room I have stayed in. BY FAR. The room was tiny ... pretty much room for a double bed, a small beat up nightstand and a desk. The Shower was in one closet (really, in a closet, behind a door). The toilet and sink were in another closet (really, another closet, like behind a door and up a stair). The window alongside the bed had strips of vinyl over it so you couldn't see out, except through two slits. The air conditioning unit in the window stuck out to the bed. You could actually kick it in the night ... and needless to say, it was loud. Much louder than the snoring guy on the airplane on my trip up. The one I could still hear through my construction-grade earplugs. The shower was the weirdest part. A solid vinyl curtain let no light in ... and you felt like you were in a closet. Not in a shower. Very strange. The toilet had a soft-close lid and the sink was fine. But they were somewhere else, up a wonky step. Super uncomfortable experience. It's a good thing I was really tired. Went right to bed, got up and got out as quickly as possible. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel Max, a Provenance Hotel Hey there John, Thank you for staying with us at the Max and I'm sorry to hear about frustrating experience. Given that our building was built in 1926 we've got some unique room layouts to say the least. We celebrate this individuality but understand that not everyone feels the same. Having said that I'm dissapointed that we didn't offer you options or extend a credit of some type given the reservation issue. Please know that I've spoken with our team about this to ensure that this doesn't happen again. Again, I'm sorry to hear about this uncomfortable experience and hope that we day we can welcome you back under far different circumstances. Regards, Kevin Scott General Manager
Clean, excellent hotel staff and great location allowing us to walk to most of our destinations. However, the rooms are terribly small. There was no chair to sit in to read or relax except for a very uncomfortable desk chair which blocked the path in front of the bed. The bathroom was way too small with no place to put even a small cosmetic bag. The […] elevators held no more than two people with luggage, and four without luggage. The hotel lobby seats were very low and wide making them uncomfortable as well. The staff was so nice and helpful though that I wish I could recommend the hotel, but for a stay of more than one night with two or more people, the rooms are way too small. Response by Hotel Max, a Provenance Hotel Hello there Maryse! Thanks for staying with us and for sharing your comments! We truly appreciate your kind words about our location and team. Location, location, location; that is great. Troubles with the valet. Car was towed. Big cost and boo. Rooms tiny. We are small gals and had a hard time washing our hair in the shower becuase its so tiny! Used to be Seattle local and I would never stay here again. Over priced. Service was not great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hotel Max, a Provenance Hotel Megan, Hello there! Thanks for staying with us and for sharing your feedback about your recent experience. I'm sorry to hear that we didn't give you a better welcome back to Seattle. Have you reached out to our Valet Manager? I'm happy to introduce. As an older building we have some small rooms and are fully aware of some of the physical challenges which is why we focus on providing our guests with a great bed and cool amenities like craft beer hour in addition to our amazing location. Again, thank you for your time and for staying with us. Regards, Kevin Scott General Manager
1. Elevator is too small 2. Do not take room 514, shower is too small, imagine yourself you're in a cruise ship, the toilet is very close to the sink which you will have trouble seating specially if you are a big person. 3. the glass shelf in the bathroom hits your forehead when you wash your face.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel Max, a Provenance Hotel Hey there! Thanks for staying with us and for taking the time to share your comments. I'm sorry to hear that we didn't live up to your expectations. As an older building we are fully aware of the the physical limitations we have in place. Smaller elevators and some unique guest room layouts are not the norm today but we rather like it that way. Great, stylish hotel, but tiny NYC-sized rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hotel Max, a Provenance Hotel Hey there! Thanks for the 5 star rating. We often get compared to NYC when it comes to our elevator and room size. "Different, but not better"
Hotel Max is definitely different than your typical hotel, offering a pillow menu and local art in each room, but the quirky differences were certainly not worth the hefty price tag. Service was amazing, though, very friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fancy hotel, misses small details."
Great atmosphere, very comfortable and great overall design. LOVED the free happy hour that happens everyday. "Unique and charming, conveniently located"
This hotel is in a great location for a variety of Seattle attractions - just north of the downtown retail/dining core, not far from Pike Place Market, just south of Lake Union/Seattle Center, and a reasonable cab fare from the stadium area - all the advantages of the better-known Westin, but with a flair all its own (and sometimes a better bargain). […] The rooms have a neat rock-n-roll vibe celebrating Seattle's music history. An older building, the rooms tend to the small side but the decor is fresh, and they are clean and quite comfortable. The ONLY downside we had on this trip was slow service checking in - though there were two clerks, only one was helping customers while another seemed quite fascinated with her cash drawer despite the line of folks waiting to be helped. While a little bit frustrating, it's not enough to keep us from wanting to stay here again. If you'd like a change of pace from the big-name hotels, yet don't want to sacrifice comfort (seriously, we didn't want to get out of the bed) or location in downtown Seattle, give this place a try. Bed was very comfortable. The air worked well and I liked the little sound it made to lull me to sleep. The only question I have is a $40 separate charge on my visa. We booked one night, left before 11:00. I know there is an overnight parking charge but didn't think it would be $40. I didn't make any other charges my stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Youthful decor with staff who cater to all ages"
Only stayed one night in this youthful and upbeat hotel centrally located to downtown Seattle. My only disappointment was that there was a private party taking place in the cafe/ bar and I was unable to go there for a glass of wine. However, one of the hotel staff walked with me to a nearby restaurant bar to check if they were serving. That was very […] much appreciated. All the staff was gracious in this way. "Okay hotel for the business traveler"
The room was extremely small for the price, particularly in light of the many other hotels within the three block radius. The room I got was on the second floor corner, right above a small parking lot and alley way; at night, it was a bit loud but for the hum of the window a/c unit which helped drown out some noise. With respect to view, this room has […] two windows on two of the corners: one faced an office building (so you get to watch people work as you lie in bed, and I guess they can see you) and the other corner window faced a fire escape and the roof of a smaller building. As you can imagine the room was dark. Not the best choice for a family, for sure. Perhaps they have larger rooms. Nevertheless, the room has a bunch of small flies that bit me in the night--not pleasant. Luckily, I was attending a conference, so I didn't have to spend much time at the hotel. This is not a family friendly place, either. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"No hotel parking unless you pay valet $33 day"
No hotel parking, no free parking, valet parking too expensive. There's public parking right across the street that is about 20 dollars per day, cheaper than the hotel small parking lot. Hotel itself is well located and cleanliness was good, hotel is old but has been upgraded, elevator very tiny only 2 people with luggage can fit in. We only stayed […] one night and it was good overall. I can't recommend it for longer stays. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel Max, a Provenance Hotel Margie, Thank you so much for staying with us and the kind words about our location and the overall cleanliness. Our Housekeeping team will be so excited to hear the feedback. I'm sorry to read your parking comments. Unfortunately, Seattle's parking costs are on the rise given the recent growth. Please know that we are one of lowest priced hotels in our neighborhood. Again, thank you for staying with us and hope to welcome you back soon. Regards, Kevin Scott General Manager
"Tiny rooms, tinier bathrooms"
Fairly good central location, but the hotel rooms are tiny, and the bathrooms absolutely minuscule—showers are almost impossible to move around in and sinks look like airplane sinks. They have AC, but it's a window unit and quite loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hotel Max, a Provenance Hotel Rebeccah, Hello there! Thank you for staying with us and sharing some feedback from your recent Max experience. As an older building we have some really funky room and bathroom layouts. We believe they are what make us stand out from the rest of the hotels in Seattle and we're just fine with that. Please know that we do have larger rooms available so don't hesitate to ask for one next time. Ultimately, we want you to be comfortable and walk away a feeling like a rock star. Hotel Max was a good choice for our overnight stay in Seattle. Close to Pike Place Market. The room was small, especially the bathroom. Reminded me of European hotels. The concierge was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

This is a modern style hotel with the typical accomodations (valet, restaurant on-site, wifi, etc) with staff that was friendly and helpful. The room was a bit tight but it didn't bother us much since we were rarely in our rooms anyways. This hotel was a unique but enjoyable experience overall.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, great location."
The Hotel Max staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We got there well before our check-in time and were able to drop off our bags and decide between checking in early into a second floor bedroom, or waiting until our guaranteed check-in. We decided to wait and were given a seventh floor corner room, it was awesome! The staff greet you every […] time you enter, and the free beer hour can't be beat. Also, Mohammed always brought a smile to or face by asking how we're doing and offering to help with anything. Definitely recommend Hotel Max! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Tiny Bathroom, Expensive Parking"
Max tries hard to be trendy, and many things work. Decor is urban modern, in an older building. Free beer reception in lobby in afternoon is a nice touch. Staff are very pleasant. Card key controlled access seems to be fairly secure. It is a big city downtown hotel, so a few things come along with that like small rooms, traffic noise. Thin walls allow […] you to get to know the neighbors. Wall fan/air conditioner helps to reduce neighbors' sounds. Fans indicate several speeds, of which apparently only one worked in our room. Beds are comfortable, room sizes sparse. Bathrooms sink/toilet area are the same size as in many jet airplanes. Shower was 26" x 26". Parking really should not cost more than $40 a night on top of room rates. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Max. This is obviously an older hotel that's been updated, so the rooms are small by modern standards, but the décor is dramatic and consistent, comfy bed, plenty of clean towels and hot water. WiFi and etc. Not a fan of the current practice of stocking the room with snack items and water bottles at steeply marked up […] prices, but that seems to be the norm nowadays, so it's to be expected. All in all, a good place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel with some drawbacks"
The hotel is in a good location, away from the business of Pikes Place Market, but still within a short walk. The room was very small, and the shower was ridiculous, almost impossible to turn around in. Otherwise, it was a fine place. I'd stay there again, but I'd request a room with a tub.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good for a night or two"
The cleaning staff were not quick therefore, even though we were early we couldn't get our room until after the check in time. The room was clean but extremely small.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, modern hotel in Downtown Seattle"
We had a great time at Hotel Max! This hotel was a great value for the price. It was close walking distance to Pike's Market Place and it was a safe, clean area. The Space Needle was about a 15-20 min walk. The Light Link is below the Nordstroms which is just a block or 2 from the hotel so no need to take a taxi! The hotel staff was very friendly and […] accommodating. The hotel even offered a free beer in the lobby for a few hours which was pretty cool! We were always greeted by the staff when entering and exiting. The room and bathroom were small but I knew to expect this from staying in a city. They even allowed you to fill out a card where you could choose which type of pillow you want (body billow, firm, extra soft, etc.). I thought this was a nice touch. The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. My only real complaint is that the elevators were very slow and small. I'd recommend this hotel to couples or business travelers. It didn't really seem like a family hotel. Overall, I thought Hotel Max was a great hotel and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Location. NIce Style. Small Rooms"
This hotel is at a great location and there are lots of shopping and dining options nearby.
