"Budget motel at higher price"
Okay but for the price, there were better choices in the area if I had booked earlier. It was even supposed to be a special rate, but for $150, I would expect more than the bare minimum. Also, there was a very noisy outside party at eh pub next door that went on until 2 AM!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel close to downtown."
My family and I had a great stay while here. Visited downtown SLO and Morro Bay.Genuine Expedia guest review
If you're looking for a literally just a place to shower and sleep, this is the place for you. Nothing special to brag about. Towels feel like Brillo pads, so bring your own if you remember. Customer service is lacking... How hard is it to ask a guest "Hello! How are you doing?" Or "How was your stay?". Continental breakfast consisted of TWO types of […] cereal, apple and orange juice and milk. The area has plenty of other accommodations to choose from, so I'm surprised that they are not a bit more competitive about their establishment to attract returning guests. Will not be a returning. The room was fine, but don't expect much from the breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I asked for an early check in. The staff person seemed annoyed, asking me to return in one hour - that she would try. This sounds reasonable, but the cold, indifferent and defensive demeanor was offensive to me. Although the room was ok., it was a hot 85 degrees outside. The pool had a beat up sign reading "Pool out of order...sorry for the inconvenience". […] I would have liked a refreshing swim! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fine for what you pay"
The hotel is a little old and run down but it met our needs. We didn't expect too much as we didn't pay too much. It was relatively close to downtown, generally clean but it's an old hotel and shows it's age. The people who run it are very nice and they were very kind to our 6 year old son. I can't imagine that anyone would actually swim in the pool […] and the breakfast is basically cold cereal. But if all you need is a place to sleep overnight, it does the trick. toliet leaking, but they fixed it when i asked. then noticed lamp next to bed had burned out light bulb, got another from them. cigarette butts thrown around in the small amount of landscaping. not an easy walk to town, especially in the heat. desk clerk was very nice. the worst breakfast on our trip, we ended up going out to breakfast instead. if i […] had other choices i would take them. "nice basic motel"
The reception desk was very friendly and accommodating. The motel is kept nicely. I don't need fancy, just a clean, quiet place to wash and sleep. The AC worked well and the room was quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was surprised I had to pay so much for a room at Travelodge ($167 which is double of what they usually cost). But I figured it must have been a busy weekend since Hotels.com and all the booking sites showed no vacancies all over that area. But we needed to stay somewhere for my daughters basketball tournament. The room was dingy, dark, smelly, loud […] and small. The pool was out of service in Summer??? The mini fridge we put my kid's water bottles in didnt work so we had to go out and purchase cold water for her games. The free breakfast was a cereal chute in the lobby with some juice n milk n coffee. I asked the front desk why it was so costly and he told me because it was summer. There were about 10-12 hotels surrounding Travelodge and all but 3 showed there were vacancies. It was too late. We had to pre-pay and couldn't cancel or we'd be stuck paying for one night. That's all we were staying there for so we had no choice. It was very frustrating to pay so much for this dive when other parents on the team talked about their nice rooms, great breakfast, fun happy hour in the lobby, etc all for the same price as ours. I won't ever go back n probably won't use booking sites either. I felt ripped off. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for an overnight stop"
First of all, it was worth every penney for what we wanted--an overnight stop on the way to my daughter's graduation at UC Santa Cruz. Less than $75, easy access to freeways and downtown (SLO is a wonderful town, the Thursday Farmers Market downtown, one of the oldest ongoing Farmers Market in the US, is not to be missed). The managers (nice couple) […] obviously take pride in making your stay comfortable and clean. That being said, it is a very basic motel: small room and bath, not so comfortable Q bed, small breakfast (mostly packaged pastries and cereal), small pool no spa. But I would stay there again for a quick overnight stop. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good inexpnsive hotel near Cal Poly"
We had a decent room that was large and comfortable enough. This hotel was better than some of the others in the area. It is very close to campus and has a good Irish pub next door.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

A beautiful quiet walk to the heart of downtown half a mile away. Easy access to the 101. Friendly staff, clean pool. Can't beat it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the staff was not very friendly. room was not as clean as it could be. there was a party going on loud music and voices. It was over rated and over priced. I plan to return to the area in Nov, but will not book this motelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for staying while visiting the area."
The room was comfortable and clean. Everything was very nice and I would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location but noisy and run down"
The walls are very thin and therefore you can hear everything (i.e. alarms, people talking, etc). It was as clean as they could get it I suppose. It just needs some serious updating. The people who run the hotel are very nice and I suppose for the price in SLO, you get what you pay for. The location is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lacking in comfort and amenities."
Not sure why AAA approved - the hotel is very adequate, an nothing more. Poorly kept up, though not dirty. Improvements have been done badly and minimally. No glamor to this stay. The continental breakfast was very minimal - actually we went down the street to a cafe! The management needs to put some money and care into the entire operation.Genuine Expedia guest review
Comfortable hotel for good price. Good location, helpful staff. Half the price of other hotels nearby on night we stayed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I've never stayed at a travelodge, and this wasn't the best first impression. When I got there, I walked into an empty lobby, rang the bell, and some half asleep messy looking guy came out from the back room. Again not a good impression. Our room was just okay... My girlfriend couldn't believe there was no iron and ironing board. The room was clean […] and recently painted. At night you can hear hundreds of frogs, I think, do their "ribbit" thing from the forest area in the back. A good ambience noise to put you to sleep. It was an okay stay.... Would consider a nicer spot next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed here several years ago and it was poor. It is much nicer now, updated, clean and quite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay was fine. Nothing good, nothing terrible. Upon entering our room there were very obvious stains on the comforters. However we thoroughly inspected the beds and we felt the linens were clean. We could easily hear our neighbors through the adjoining door. Other than that cleanliness was fine. Nice bathroom and decent kitchenette. Location was […] great in SLO. Not downtown but not too far. I would stay here again but probably wouldn't be my first choice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"it was a great place!"
This hotel is wonderful. It's very clean, it's in a great location, and the management is very responsive. I was surprised how great the rooms were and how quiet they were. We couldn't hear any of our neighbors. It's a short walk to downtown. We will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"good but not great"
this hotel fit the purpose. We needed to be close to the college. I will try other hotels at our next visit as this one was barely above Motel 6 standards. The towels were very small and thin so for a female this was not desirable. But, on a better note the price was right!!!! Would I stay here again..... maybe. "Ok for one night"
Price was right for a one night stay, checking out Cal Poly with my son. Got a good nights sleep. Breakfast not worth it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fun stay in SLO!"
My stay in SLO was just as I expected, the Travelodge was a friendly place to stay over for the night. Not everything in the room was spotless, but the room was outfitted with everything we needed and some extra's that we did not even use. It had a Safe, Wi-Fi, Refrigerator, Coffee Maker with coffee, a Hairdryer (I thought about using this but it looked […] clogged with lint and should probably be brushed out every once in a while), all in all I really enjoyed my stay. We skipped the breakfast in the lobby because we don't always eat breakfast, but It was offered to us. We did not spend a lot of time in the room because SLO is so beautiful, we were out exploring most of the time, we were just in the room to sleep and shower, the room was very well accommodated for these things. For the price this room was Perfect! :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is very nice and convenient for the price and location. Rooms were clean, bathroom had been remodeled and was very nice. Area was a bit noisy and the front desk staff was not very helpful. "Gr8 Valu!Nice bathrooms-granite tile Toto toilets"
Spacious rooms though inside room and outside don't mesh. should probably remodel outside and office and get new carpet inside. Did a nice job remodeling bathroom. nice granite bath/shower surround, clean, new shower curtain, grout is clean and nicely applied by professional not like amateurish or uneven jobs you see at some hotels that are patching/covering […] up moldy grout! And Toto toilet, that's high end brand. fixtures are standard but new. digital thermostat worked nicely and not the rickety dials attached to the wall unit. carpet needs to be updated and tile and kitchenette needs to be upgraded to match the nice bathroom quality. Breakfast needs a remodel. compared to Quality Inn breakfast we had the next day in Thousand oaks. Talk to them and look at their breakfast spread and room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice neighborhood. Small but nice rooms. Breakfast was ok - not much to chose from but adequate - English muffins, Danish, oatmeal, fruit & juice. "Great location for walking to Downtown and College"
We enjoyed our stay and would return again. Rooms are clean and nice. Wi-fi worked fine. The locatioin was perfect for walking to local restaurants and to Cal Poly. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect while visiting family"
My daughter and I needed a convenient overnight place to stay with her infant while visiting family in SLO. We had a late check-in, comfy beds, the requisite fridge and microwave, and an easy access first floor room in the back away from the main road. Worked out extremely well for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Good location"
I enjoyed my stay. I was just across the street from where I had to be. Walking distance to bars and dinning. Shopping near. Friendly and efficient service at the hotel. The only negative thing was, that it was too warm in the room. The heat was pre-set to 75 degrees. It was a rare 80 degrees in San Luis Obispo.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Cal Poly"
Nice beds but next time I'll bring my own pillow. Conveniently located for visiting our daughter at Cal Poly. Breakfast offered was not what we'd ever book this motel for again. The drive in and out of the parking lot can be tricky to manuever.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tried & True"
Always stay here. Older but clean and well maintained. Instant hot water in the shower and bathroom always clean and well stocked. Great place to lay your head at night after visiting the wineries or Cal Poly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No, no, no."
The air conditioning system was old and noisy and jerky so did not let me sleep peacefully. The TV was hazy and the remote did not work. The complimentary breakfast was a joke, with real stale fruit, and no juice or toast. Most of the time there is no one at the reception desk. Otherwise the room was clean and the bathroom upgraded and located conveniently. […] Would not recommend staying there. Spend some more and get a better hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location close to Cal Poly"
The room was clean and in good condition. The beds were comfortable. It appears the bathroom was updated with granite shower surround and tile floor. The location is super convenient to the university and to restaurants and downtown. The room had a fridge and microwave. My only complaint was the heater was very loud, the old wall type heater, but run […] by thermostat. It was quite unusually cold at night (28) and we had to turn the heater on in the middle of the night which made a racket and kept me awake. Other than that, for the price this place is great. We didn't have the free breakfast, choosing rather Splash just down the street which has great coffee and pastries and a killer breakfast burrito. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
