"Stay - 3 nights"
We drove in from San Diego for a long week-end. First time staying here. We,husband & wife, were very pleased. Clean and comfortable. Happy with price for what we got. Would recommend this place to a friend and we would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Was just looking for a good night's sleep in between two golf outings and this place fit the bill.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Tried to use the hotel's computer in the lobby. Unit was so slow I resorted to using my iphone instead. Several lights in the room did not work. Old Style CRT television. What about upgrading to a flat screen? If I have the choice, I would never stay nor recommend this motel to anyone at any time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Service oriented manager"
Reached the hotel and realized that I had booked two hotel rooms for the wrong date. Manager was willing to accommodate us, however, the right rooms were not available...he offered us roller beds at no extra cost. Really appreciate the honesty and friendliness of the manager, that was the highlight of the stay. Hotel facilities and rooms were adequate […] for the price I paid. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. We stayed for two nights, but only ate breakfast after one night. The breakfast was adequate. The desk clerk was friendly and seemed competent. I was satisfied with our stay there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It does the job"
It's a place to sleep for the night. Clean enough, but not flawless. Great service. Paper thin walls. The most inexpensive we could find at the moment, so you get what you pay for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Travelodge stay, August 2013"
Travelodge in San Luis Obispo was very economical, cleanly, and convenient to everything. My friend had a car, so I didn't have to rent one. My room was always made up promptly and nicely. The maid forgot to leave coffee so I could make it in my room 2 days. But, the office was pleasant and happy to give it to me. Overall, i was very satisfied, and […] would stay there again. "is not a hotel is a motel"
this place is an old expensive motel. the room was clean but it had a weird smell, we stayed two days but the first night was horrible we couldn't sleep.in the room next to ours they were drunk people firing and throwing things, yelling and making horrible noise .Genuine Expedia guest review
My wife and I stayed here on a recent roadtrip up the coast. The hotel was a decent deal for the price and was located relatively close to the downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location and nice enough!"
We stayed during a family trip and will stay here again. The price was right and the room was clean, quiet and in a close location to downtown which is where you spend your time here when you're not at the beach. The staff was always pleasant. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired but we made do.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The hotel was in a good area."
The hotel is in a good location close to everything. The rooms were a little too small. There have been some upgrades to the rooms, but the furniture is from the 1980's. The TV's are older tv's just before the newer flat panels. The parking was ok, but the only thing I didn't like was that the pool is located right in the entrance just before the parking […] lot. The owners are very polite and helpful. The complementary breakfast was ok. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Just The Basics"
Nothing at all fancy, but if all you need is a bed and shower then this may be a good bet. The main problem is the street noise can wake you up early if your room is towards the front like ours was. It was located close to freeways and downtown SLO. The breakfast was good if you are really into carbs and sugar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good prices, Clean room!"
The hotel was well maintained and the room was very clean. It was very good value as the price was reasonable for the area. The bathroom looked like it was recently updated. The breakfast was your standard cereal, English muffins, juice, coffee and tea, but they did have fresh fruit too. Our only complaint was that our king size bed sagged, which made […] for some backaches for the two of us. Don't know if it was just our particular room. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value; Great location"
Close to downtown. Although near busy road, it's not noisy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice room. Since we had to adults in our party, with luggage, it would have been helpful to have had two luggage racks/stands in the the room. Good location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient & Comfortable"
Our room had everything we needed for our stay. A place to sleep and a clean bathroom with adequate air conditioning. Nothing fancy or remarkable, but would stay there again, if we needed a room with short notice. Very close to Cal Poly, so it worked for the focus of our trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Visit Pappy McGreggor's next door. Great pub.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Cal Poly"
Overall very good. The free breakfast had very few options.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's all about the location......"
Very well located for a visit to CalPoly. Good restaurants nearby, and a walk to downtown is quick and easy. Apple Farm is an even shorter walk. Hotel is dated, but clean and comfortable. We plan to stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"one night ok"
Threadbare towels, stain on pillow case. Too expensive, $180 for a $30 room, but it was in the high demand weekend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Satisfied my needs"
Everything about the hotel was fine. Really nothing to complain about.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good, economical choice"
We stayed at this Travelodge in SLO specifically for its access to State Route 101, which leads to the beaches where we spent most of our time. We were quite happy with the room, although I have a problem with hotel beds -- my back usually does not agree with hotel beds and these beds were no exception! We would definitely stay there again, though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice and the hotel staff was great."
The hotel staff let me check out at my own pace I was running late and they didn't mind and let me check out when I was finished packing up my stuff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice hotel....close to campus..."
staff was helpful, room was comfortable and close to areas of interest.Genuine Expedia guest review
No frills, but convenient location and reasonably pricedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Budget motel at higher price"
Okay but for the price, there were better choices in the area if I had booked earlier. It was even supposed to be a special rate, but for $150, I would expect more than the bare minimum. Also, there was a very noisy outside party at eh pub next door that went on until 2 AM!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sorry but I won't stay again!"
Bad!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to downtown."
My family and I had a great stay while here. Visited downtown SLO and Morro Bay.Genuine Expedia guest review
If you're looking for a literally just a place to shower and sleep, this is the place for you. Nothing special to brag about. Towels feel like Brillo pads, so bring your own if you remember. Customer service is lacking... How hard is it to ask a guest "Hello! How are you doing?" Or "How was your stay?". Continental breakfast consisted of TWO types of […] cereal, apple and orange juice and milk. The area has plenty of other accommodations to choose from, so I'm surprised that they are not a bit more competitive about their establishment to attract returning guests. Will not be a returning. The room was fine, but don't expect much from the breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I asked for an early check in. The staff person seemed annoyed, asking me to return in one hour - that she would try. This sounds reasonable, but the cold, indifferent and defensive demeanor was offensive to me. Although the room was ok., it was a hot 85 degrees outside. The pool had a beat up sign reading "Pool out of order...sorry for the inconvenience". […] I would have liked a refreshing swim! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fine for what you pay"
The hotel is a little old and run down but it met our needs. We didn't expect too much as we didn't pay too much. It was relatively close to downtown, generally clean but it's an old hotel and shows it's age. The people who run it are very nice and they were very kind to our 6 year old son. I can't imagine that anyone would actually swim in the pool […] and the breakfast is basically cold cereal. But if all you need is a place to sleep overnight, it does the trick. toliet leaking, but they fixed it when i asked. then noticed lamp next to bed had burned out light bulb, got another from them. cigarette butts thrown around in the small amount of landscaping. not an easy walk to town, especially in the heat. desk clerk was very nice. the worst breakfast on our trip, we ended up going out to breakfast instead. if i […] had other choices i would take them. "nice basic motel"
The reception desk was very friendly and accommodating. The motel is kept nicely. I don't need fancy, just a clean, quiet place to wash and sleep. The AC worked well and the room was quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was surprised I had to pay so much for a room at Travelodge ($167 which is double of what they usually cost). But I figured it must have been a busy weekend since Hotels.com and all the booking sites showed no vacancies all over that area. But we needed to stay somewhere for my daughters basketball tournament. The room was dingy, dark, smelly, loud […] and small. The pool was out of service in Summer??? The mini fridge we put my kid's water bottles in didnt work so we had to go out and purchase cold water for her games. The free breakfast was a cereal chute in the lobby with some juice n milk n coffee. I asked the front desk why it was so costly and he told me because it was summer. There were about 10-12 hotels surrounding Travelodge and all but 3 showed there were vacancies. It was too late. We had to pre-pay and couldn't cancel or we'd be stuck paying for one night. That's all we were staying there for so we had no choice. It was very frustrating to pay so much for this dive when other parents on the team talked about their nice rooms, great breakfast, fun happy hour in the lobby, etc all for the same price as ours. I won't ever go back n probably won't use booking sites either. I felt ripped off. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for an overnight stop"
First of all, it was worth every penney for what we wanted--an overnight stop on the way to my daughter's graduation at UC Santa Cruz. Less than $75, easy access to freeways and downtown (SLO is a wonderful town, the Thursday Farmers Market downtown, one of the oldest ongoing Farmers Market in the US, is not to be missed). The managers (nice couple) […] obviously take pride in making your stay comfortable and clean. That being said, it is a very basic motel: small room and bath, not so comfortable Q bed, small breakfast (mostly packaged pastries and cereal), small pool no spa. But I would stay there again for a quick overnight stop. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good inexpnsive hotel near Cal Poly"
We had a decent room that was large and comfortable enough. This hotel was better than some of the others in the area. It is very close to campus and has a good Irish pub next door.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

A beautiful quiet walk to the heart of downtown half a mile away. Easy access to the 101. Friendly staff, clean pool. Can't beat it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the staff was not very friendly. room was not as clean as it could be. there was a party going on loud music and voices. It was over rated and over priced. I plan to return to the area in Nov, but will not book this motelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for staying while visiting the area."
The room was comfortable and clean. Everything was very nice and I would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location but noisy and run down"
The walls are very thin and therefore you can hear everything (i.e. alarms, people talking, etc). It was as clean as they could get it I suppose. It just needs some serious updating. The people who run the hotel are very nice and I suppose for the price in SLO, you get what you pay for. The location is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lacking in comfort and amenities."
Not sure why AAA approved - the hotel is very adequate, an nothing more. Poorly kept up, though not dirty. Improvements have been done badly and minimally. No glamor to this stay. The continental breakfast was very minimal - actually we went down the street to a cafe! The management needs to put some money and care into the entire operation.Genuine Expedia guest review
Comfortable hotel for good price. Good location, helpful staff. Half the price of other hotels nearby on night we stayed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice place and inexpensive! Hotel owners were very sweet and care about the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I've never stayed at a travelodge, and this wasn't the best first impression. When I got there, I walked into an empty lobby, rang the bell, and some half asleep messy looking guy came out from the back room. Again not a good impression. Our room was just okay... My girlfriend couldn't believe there was no iron and ironing board. The room was clean […] and recently painted. At night you can hear hundreds of frogs, I think, do their "ribbit" thing from the forest area in the back. A good ambience noise to put you to sleep. It was an okay stay.... Would consider a nicer spot next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed here several years ago and it was poor. It is much nicer now, updated, clean and quite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay was fine. Nothing good, nothing terrible. Upon entering our room there were very obvious stains on the comforters. However we thoroughly inspected the beds and we felt the linens were clean. We could easily hear our neighbors through the adjoining door. Other than that cleanliness was fine. Nice bathroom and decent kitchenette. Location was […] great in SLO. Not downtown but not too far. I would stay here again but probably wouldn't be my first choice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"it was a great place!"
This hotel is wonderful. It's very clean, it's in a great location, and the management is very responsive. I was surprised how great the rooms were and how quiet they were. We couldn't hear any of our neighbors. It's a short walk to downtown. We will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
