This hotel is walking distance from some of the best parts of Vancouver. It is 5 minutes from Yaletown, 15 from Robson, and only a 20 minute walk to Granville Island. The staff is very attentive, and the free wine tasting is a nice touch (advice: get there early before they run out on weekends). The hotel itself was great. The room wasn't huge, but was comfortable and a nice size. It was clean, and there were plenty of rooms to plug in your laptop and cell phone. The decor of the rooms was great as well. I was a bit worried about some of the reviews on various sites, but the bad ones were probably from people that are overly critical, or were having a bad day. Either way, I can't say enough good things about this hotel!

The hotel had a/c, nice linens, stocked mini fridge, and a cozy hot tub. (The jets could have been stronger on the hot tub..) It did not say on the ad on hotels.com, but in the book in the room, it says pets are ok. If I had known this, I would have brought my dog, and not had a petsitter. Vancouver is a very dog-friendly town. Also, utilizing the water taxis to get to Yaletown, Granville Island was a real plus, and inexpensive.

Stanley Park, Granville Island, Robsen Street and Yale Town are all within easy walking distance. And Kitsalano is just over the bridge.

If you are used to 5 star hotels, don't bother, but for the average traveller, you will be surprised and pleased. The staff was totally friendly and helpful, the rooms are big with lots of ammenities. The downtown Robson shopping and Yaletown is an easy walk and Granville Island is just across the street. The neighborhood is safe. They even have a ninth-floor workout area and outside spa with great views. No problems at all. If you stay, check the wine tasting and specials in the restaurant. It seemed pricey, but they had a special going on that was a good value and the food was above average. Did I mention the staff? Have fun in Vancouver, we sure did!
