Georgetown is DC at its most cosmopolitan. Here, Beltway bigwigs hold court at fine restaurants along M Street, a bustling shopping thoroughfare. Twentysomethings network at its trendy bars. Georgetown University dominates its west side, while rival George Washington University takes a chunk of Foggy Bottom. That area includes offices to major law firms, corporations, and the World Bank.

Okay, so the hotel just--as in days ago--turned non-smoking, and I wound up on the floor that used to be the smoking floor, and it still smelled like it...and I found myself in a decently-appointed suite, but the refrigerator was defrosting when I got there, and in order to avoid trying to sleep through what seemed like Chinese water torture, I had to empty all the dripping cube trays in the sink and mop up the last of the water that overflowed the tray beneath the freezer...and that damned smoke alarm started beeping at irregular interals at about 5:30 a.m. on the day I had my presentation. But, to be fair, the engineer managed to fix the alarm so the next night it was fine (and I came back to find the refrigerator closed and functional), and the front desk was manned by very amiable people, and the bartender was a master of the dry martini, and the location--a brief walk to Georgetown, four short blocks to the Foggy Bottom metro stop, and in a quiet residential neighborhood--was secure and very convenient. Did I think it was perfect? Not at all. Would I stay there again? Sure. Not so much because of the place, although it was clean and the staff were attentive, but because it's in a terrific area for one woman by herself.

Stayed one night only with my children-we were passing through on our way to Virginia. We were very impressed by the room which was an apt. The furnishings were modern & new. Very clean & comfortable.Neighborhood was very nice and Georgetown was a 5 block walking distance. You can find parking on the street or there is valet parking for $20 a night. White House very close by also though not walking distance. The only thing needing improvement is the front desk people(not so friendly or helpful). My overall experience was great & I'd would definately go back.

Great room, large , clean, but bed was very small for two. Requested king but got a small queen or a liilte bigger than double, don't know which, just know it was not a king. Great value for price. Restaurant, The Dish, was excellent. Dinner for two, two glasses of wine and two cocktails and tip $120.00. A lillte pricy but worth it. They did drop the ball on our room service from the Dish, requested 8-8:30 am delivery of breakfast and did not arrive until 8:45 am almost causing us to miss our planned event. Would recommend this hotel and would stay again. Tip..if there on a weekend you may park on the street to avoid very high cost of their valet parking.

This hotel was a great find. We were a block and a half away from the Metro so we didn't need a car. The neighborhood was wonderful, you are right in the middle of these great old townhouses. The staff was friendly and helpful all the time including the restaurant staff. Our room was very nice and the kitchen was nice bonus to have. Fresh coffee every day and microwave and fridge too. The restaurant is a little more expensive so be aware of that. Walking distance to other places to eat and a couple of blocks from the Kennedy Center too.

The kitchen in the suite served to be very helpful as I needed it to cook a romantic dinner. The walls are thin so you can hear the people next door, upstairs, downstairs, either yelling at their kids of just talking loud in general. Also the noise outside carries into your room. The bed was not so comfortable and the front desk service was nothing great. I've stayed at some very elaborate hotels in DC for a lot less so basically, in my opinion you're paying for the kitchen. The bathroom, was okay...tiles were a bit dirty. The wireless internet is a sham as it doesn't work on higher levels, at which you have to call downstairs and they give you a short dsl cord to plug into your laptop and you have to keep it on the desk rather then in bed if you want to work while laying down(btw, you have to go down and get the cord so I would recommend asking for it when you check in) I had one wine glass in my room and I needed 2 plus 2 champagne glasses, so I had called down to ask them if they could bring them up...2 hours later called down again and got my request half hour after that. One last tip, if you are going on the weekends, street parking in the area is free after 530pm friday throughout the weekend, so don't get the valet service, which is $22/day.

Well-kept property, responsive staff, completely safe neighborhood. Only two blocks away from the Foggy Bottom Metro Station. Within easy walking distance to Georgetown (theaters, restaurants, etc.) Two blocks away from a 7-11, and two blocks away from a grocery store located in the bottom floor of the Watergate Hotel Complex. We spent a week and enjoyed the full kitchen and spaciousness of the room. With mom, dad and two full grown children, we had plenty of room. Location of the hotel is very good. We got the 7 day Metro unlimited pass for $22/ea. Although we had a rental car (and paid an additional $20/day to park it at the hotel), we didn't use it much except to drive one day to see Mount Vernon. The rest of the time we used the Metro -- which is fine if you want to explore the museums and other high profile sites. Our room on the 7th floor (room 702) allowed us to watch the 4th of July Fireworks over the Washington monument. Awesome view! The hotel staff was very cordial. This is not a five star hotel, but it is a solid 4 star in my book. Parking seemed expensive, but other than that, there were no other complaints. An excellent value for the vacationing family. Highly recommended.
