We were overall very pleased. The hotel was ccalm and clean. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. Unfortunately our room hd a terrible back alley view. That was disappointing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel has it all, very happy with it. They just need more light in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very close to The Hill"
The staff was very helpful and friendly, giving me help when I needed it. The bathroom was nicely updated, but the decor of the hallways and the room was a bit tired. It met my needs though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to U.S. Capitol"
OK location in DC, but hotel rooms show wear and could use new carpet. Bathroom very small and bed and bedding not very comfortable. Staff was prompt, knowledgeable and helpful with directions and cab service. Would be a reasonable value for $300 vs. $400 price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Put us in the "other building". Very uncomfortable"
Something very itchy in the bed. Chairs very uncomfortable. Staff said furniture was only a week old. Big suite with kitchen we didn't use. Might have been better for an extended stay. Great location. Not for an overnight stay. "Other building" is not what you see in the online pictures.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, comfortable convenience"
This hotel is close to lots of good restaurants, tourist attractions and public transportation. Our room had a microwave, fridge and a Keurig machine. Staff was friendly and helpful--would definitely recommend Capitol Hill Hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Next to the Library of Congress"
Small, informal hotel at a great location across the street from the Library of Congress and a couple of blocks from the Capitol. A couple of minutes walk from Pennsylvania Ave. with nice little restaurants and coffee shops. Decor pleasant contemporary, a bit European. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Would go there again. Room was small and bathroom […] tiny, but adequate. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Location, Location, Location"
Great place to stay while in DC. Only 1 block from Capital South metro stop, and only 2 blocks from Good Stuff Eatery and We the Pizza. Makes getting around so easy, and eating on a budget is possible. Hotel itself is nice. Nice neighborhood. Area is quiet, seems safe. Our room was huge, kitchenette was very nice, with full size fridge. Water pressure […] in the shower was fantastic. Water quality was excellent. Very nice TV with excellent channel choices. The beds were very comfortable. Only drawback was the hotel itself needs a good vacuuming, but really, not imprtant. Will be staying here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Overall a good place to stay but the continental breakfast was bad so don't expect to have a good meal. Luckily there are several restaurants in the neighborhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Could not control temperature in room. Manager said city had to ok to use air conditioning, What a lie! What would have been wrong with vented air? Room was ready 2-1/2 hours after promised,, and chest of drawers, made the whole room smell like paint thinner. When requested new towels from maid service, I never got them. The Hotel said they would refund […] 20% of my money, but through Hotel.com. I bet i don't see that money. "Location Location Location"
The big selling point of this hotel is Location, . . . 2 blocks from the Capital Building and the Supreme Court . . . . the James Madison building of the Library of Congrsss is directly across the street. This is a quant, little boutique hotel, right on Capital Hill. If you have business at the Capital Building or at the Supreme Court, THIS is where […] you want to stay. Location was a bit far for the mall and museums, but a very pleasant neighborhood.Room was very comfortable, spacious- we had a Jr. suite.Heating/air conditioning was a problem. Room was very warm and AC not "accessible" to cool the room. Even with in room thermostat all we could control was turning the fan on. This helped a bit but still not sufficient […] for the kind of environmental control one should have in an otherwise nice hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Never stay at this hotel"
THIS HOTEL DOES NOT HONOR ITS RESERVATIONS. I checked my bag off at 11 am and gave a credit card for incidentals and was told my room wasn't ready yet but would be later in the day. Upon arriving back to the hotel after my business meetings and an evening reception, I was told at 10:30 pm that my reservation was bumped. The manager claimed it was no […] big deal and was only for one night and refused to give me a refund. This is unacceptable for a single female to have to travel across town that late at night. At $300 a night they should honor any and all reservations. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Rooms not ready for occupancy"
I initially asked for room upgrade after finding out the Jr room was not big enough for a mother daughter and will pay for the difference, clerk said no rooms available. 2nd request asked for room transfer when i told them there was no bathrm door, was told the other rooms are being renovated and we were transferred to another toom. "Great Location on Capitol Hill"
This is a nice, boutique hotel, just a block away from the metro, and within easy walking distance of the Capitol Visitors Center. The only reason I gave the condition of the property an average rating of 3 (with an overall of 4) was that the elevators are showing pretty significant wear, walls have dings that could be easily covered up, hall carpet […] (at least on my floor) could be cleaned a little better. Also, the room's extra security latch needed to be secured to the door; it would have been ineffective. And while the room contained a safe, the one night I would have used it, found that it had been left locked by a previous guest. Housekeeping should have checked that between guests, and should have reported the latch issue to maintenance. Other than that, a great place to stay with very nice, accommodating staff. I would stay there again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, basic accommodations"
The hotel staff was very nice and helpful, but the hotel itself seemed to have been sort of thrown together. The bethroom door would not open or close, the room smelled like paint, there was barely any lighting in the room, etc. It's also a little odd to have to walk outside to a separate building and go down various winding halls to get to breakfast. […] All that being said, it served its purpose as a not-super-expensive hotel option right by the Capitol, and again, the staff was very nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overbooked and nobody called"
The Capitol Hill Hotel was overbooked and had me waiting in the lobby for 2 hours before they told me there wasn't a room available.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Big room for family of 5"
Lovely area very close to capital hill. One block from subway station. Good restaurants one block awayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel's check-in time is 3PM. I arrived at 3:05 and my room was not ready until 4PM, causing me to be late to a 4:30 p.m. meeting. Also, the front desk staff person was most unkind as though it was my fault. I was told that "we cannot guarantee that the room would be ready." This is most unacceptable since the check-in time is listed as 3PM.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to lots of must-see sights and railway"
I love my time in DC over the MLK holiday. People are friendly and everyone wanted you to experience DC in a positive light. I had one issue with van transportation - had nothing of course to do with the great food and stay at the Capitol Hill Hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Thanks for a great stay"
The Capitol Hill Hotel has a very convenient location for central DC. The staff are very friendly and helpful. thanks in particular to David on the desk on Christmas day. You really made our stay special.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and comfortable"
Set in the Capitol Hill area--close to the capitol, major museums and also part of the lively neighborhood around Eastern Market. Small size hotel and very well trained staff makes it a comfort spot. The breakfast provided is good but not spectacular but there are a large number of choices for dining (including breakfast) in the neighborhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to sights but service was questionable"
The location was fantastic (just 2 blocks away from the US Supreme Court, which is where I had to be at 830am the next morning. It was also pet-friendly, which was an added bonus. However, I came with a child AND a dog, and no mention was made of the Kids Program or Hounds on the Hill program at checkin. When I called about it arnd 11pm, the staff was […] very accommodating and let me know that I could take advantage of the programs the next morning, however, the next morning, the staff didnt seem to know much about the Hounds program. With regard to the Kids program, the staff directed me to a "wonderful" Toy Chest which looked like it had not been cleaned or refilled in quite some time, and I chose not to select a toy from the mess inside. Also, my dog found a dead mouse in the room, which my husband took downstairs so the dog would not smell it all night, and aside from "I'm sorry," nothing else was done. Convenient location, and my guests enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, but the service left something to be desired. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"best on capitol hill"
Great location on Capitol Hill. Capitol building and national mall, Library of Congress, Union Station all just a few minutes walk away. Was there for business, but had a weekend open for sightseeing and the hotel was well suited to both. Fast internet. Large room with great work space and comfortable seating. Microwave, kitchen sink and small fridge […] in the room. Only one window, so not lots of natural light. Bed was a bit hard for my taste, but otherwise room was great. Breakfast is so-so. Quiet neighborhood. Several restaurants and cafes within a couple blocks, or hop the metro that's a block away to get anywhere in the city. The staff was friendly, but also showed their personalities, which is nicer than the fake friendly receptions at some hotels. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Capitol Hill overnights"
Great location to House side of hill, decent restaurants close by... The room was too warm to sleep. Tried to set the thermostat cooler, but room would not go below 71F, even though the temp was set at 65F.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Capitol, metro station, and quick food."
The hotel is in an ideal location for those needing to get to and from the Capitol quickly. The rooms are large and the bed are comfy. The structure itself (walls, floors, etc...) are not in new condition. The ceiling of my bathroom was falling apart and the edges of the walls were all cracking. It's not a luxury hotel, but it was comfortable. The staff […] are helpful and nice. I didn't use them but I overheard another guest say that the workout facilities were impressive. "Hidden Gem in DC"
First and foremost, I cannot rave enough about the staff here. They are so helpful and friendly. When I checked in, I asked about a package that was delivered and Kendra, who was at the front desk, personally brought the box to my room because their bellman was busy. She knew how important the package was and went out of her way to accommodate me. And […] the staff was great when I had to ship boxes as well. Corey was awesome and super nice, helping move and secure them. Great boutique hotel! I'd definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel is very convenient to Metro and all Capital"
The staff was very friendly and knew the area very well. The free breakfast was good and a nice way to start the day. I will stay at this hotel again when I visit D.C. and will recommend to my friends and clients.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A block from a Metro so It was easy to get around"
The staff was very helpful. They sent up a nitelight when we mentioned that the bathroom light was too bright to leave on.They provided us with some band-aids when we ran out of ours. The free breakfast was all that we needed to get us to lunchtime after a tiring morning seeing the sights.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was very convenient to the Capitol Hill area. The room was large, but the air conditioner was a bit too close to the bed, and the bathroom was a bit unusual because when you turned in the light, a closet light also came on which cast light onto the bedroom. They did provide a cot for my daughter and didn't charge us for that, which was great. […] The free breakfast was also great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Visiting Capitol Hill is easy here."
This is a very convenient location. You are only a block away from the Capitol South Metro stop, and can take the Metro directly to/and from the Regan Int. Airport. Service was good at the hotel, however, the room had the overhead light burned out, and some plugs were so loose that you could not plug in chargers. A bit overpriced for that sort of maintenance. […] WiFi was good and easy to access. From this hotel, you can easily walk to the Capitol, Library of Congress, and Supreme Court. A short Metro ride can get you to the White House. All in all a good place to base a tour of Washington. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel and great location."
This is the third time I have stayed at this particular hotel and each time is great. It is a very short walk from the Capital South Metro Station so it makes it very convenient to take the Metro from Reagan National Airport. However, if you are traveling with another person take a cab as the price difference may not be worth it. While the hotel offers […] a breakfast with the stay it is limited so don't make this the reason for the stay. There are however a number of good diners just a block way down C street that serve traditional breakfasts. For dinner you can take the Metro to another location or just walk a few more blocks down Pennsylvania Avenue for a number of dinner choices. Overall the rooms are all very nice with plenty of room, so if you are a business traveler this is really a perfect location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
