My wife and I stayed at the Inn whilst looking for new houses and offices within the SD region. We booked a 'Deluxe' room and was very pleased to find that we were staying in an almost self contained cottage with a huge comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. The hotel is very well kept and the staff very friendly and helpul. Drinks quite pricey and food OK, great breakfast if not again, quite pricey.

Loved the grounds of this multi-acre property. Very well maintained and really feels like you're away from civilization. The rooms were very nice, separate, single story little romantic bungalows. They even had wood burning fireplaces. Very nice!

The only thing that wasn't as I thought it would be from the photos was the patio. It appeared as though each room had a private balcony, and our balcony certainly wasn't private. But, we would definitely go there again!

Hotel was very nice. First evening there was a smoke detector going off in the maids storage area all night that no one from the hotel heard so it made for less than a good nights sleep. The hot water supply is variable.Fireplace in the rooms is great and the location of the hotel makes it a great getaway.

I have stayed in some well-known, luxurious hotes in Boston, San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago and Washington D.C. This hotel was way beyond my expectations in terms of the condition of the hotel, the privacy, the staff, the beauty of the buildings and grounds, the updated bathroom, the exquisite furniture and the attention to every detail! I have already recommended it to friends who are looking for somewhere to stay. It was off the beaten tourist route for San Diego, but that is something I also enjoyed. I could do the tourist things, or I could enjoy the peace and quiet of the accommodations. It is without a doubt, the nicest place that I have ever stayed!!! It was a wonderful value for the price, which I understand does fluctuate, but well worth it! I plan on staying there again when I get a chance.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Very nice hotel, everyone was nice. However, on the morning of my checkout I found a giant bug in the soap dish in the shower. I didn't check to see what it was, but it freaked me out. I don't think it was a cockroach, it was pretty big. Granted it wasn't like the room was infested, but the hotel is kind of out in the hills so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised...

Reviewed by Doug of Burbank on Jul 23, 2008
This was a perfect, charming, cozy, one-of-a-kind place for a romantic getaway. Everything about it was more than we had hoped for. We stayed in an adorable little individual cottage on a pretty, cobble-stone paved street. The room was spacious, very comfortable, and very nicely furnished and decorated in a warm, natural, not-at-all stuffy way. The staff was excellent and really went out of our way to give us everything we wanted. The town was very nice, neat, and quiet, with a pretty, Spanish rancho feeling. The location was great for our needs, close enough to San Diego to get Downtown within 30 minutes for dinner and nightlife, but far enough to have a completely relaxing place to come back to at night to unwind. The only drawbacks were that the town's winding streets were a bit confusing to navigate, and finding the main office for the first time was tricky (head for the restaurant and you'll be close). But overall this was a small price to pay for all of its charms. It wasn't cheap, but for the same price I've stayed at several other hotels that aren't nearly as charming, comfortable, or well-maintained and staffed. We will definitely return next time we're in the San Diego area.

Although not too close to San Diego business locations, this charmer was great and very much exceeded all expectations: a fireplace in the room, a huge bed, a bathtub with lion legs, etc. etc. Breakfast was wonderful and the stuff very helpful and courteous. I would come again and recommend it to all my friends!

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is an elegant hotel, that is beautifully landscaped and has a most charming layout. My family had a total of four rooms, all adjoining, with back patios. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the amenities. One of us had a fireplace and because of the chilly night we were assisted in starting the fire. That was very enjoyable. The next morning we had breakfast in the dining room and the service was superb and the food delicious. I have stayed here once before and would do so again. I highly recomment the Inn.

Beautiful hotel and well maintained. The grounds were full of beautiful flowers. The room was great and the bed was comfortable. I only have (2) criticisms: The fan in the room had a loose cover, which exposed wires in the ceiling -and- unless I missed it, there are not any signs advising drivers where to park and check in (i.e- the location of the front desk). Overall, we had a great and relaxing stay. As Arnold would say, "I'll be back!"
