I was tremendously disappointed when we arrived at 1 am to find that neither was the sofa bed in the room made up, nor were there any sheets/blanket in the room for it, despite my having called earlier in the week to warn that we would be arriving very late. Then, the following day, the maid left sheets for the sofa bed in the room, but neglected to […] put the sheets on! When I complained to the front desk as we were going out later in the day, the gentleman told me that the housekeeping staff had already left for the day (this was Chrisrtmas Eve), but he did go up and make the sofa bed himself. I would have liked a little firmer bed and I was a little surprised the room did not have a refrigerator or a microwave (although I think they may have them if you request it). I really enjoyed my stay there. The staff was very friendly I had one problem, I called down To the front desk and they were at my door in minutes. Helped me find my way around town, Printed out directions for me and all the time with a smile on their faces. Seth was really patient with me.

Beds were comfy!! The actual room was nice - the bathroom was a little moldy. Shower curtain was moldy, and there was mold on the walls that was painted over. The pictures made the hotel look REALLY nice, but it was just an average hotel. It is a little older. My daughter is going to school in Mankato, I think I will be looking for a different hotel […] to come to regularly. It will do...but I had expected it to be MUCH better than it was. I've stayed in MUCH worse!! Oh, I asked the morning staff if there was a close grocery store - we had to get some things for a picnic. I asked if the Target that was right next door was a Super Target, she said no..(it WAS a SUPER Target!!) She gave me very confusing directions to the Hy-Vee, blocks away. I didn't go to that one, less than a block away, next to the hotel was a Cub Foods. Did she forget about that? I don't know is she wasn't from Mankato, but best if you don't know - not to give false information? Read more

Comfortable bed and lots of pillows which were great. Room very clean. Good breakfast. Only complaint is there wasn't any luggage rack in the room and only one wastebasket. The wastebasket was in the bathroom and it would have been nice to have one by the desk. Set our luggage on the dresser.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple times now when we visit the area over other options due to overall price/value. The location is convenient to the mall & restaurants and close to the Minnesota State University Mankato & Bethany college campuses. They offer a decent breakfast - waffles, yogurt, fruit cups, juices, milk, coffee, donuts/bread & breakfast […] sandwiches. The room was average size & clean. If you NEED a fridge be sure to ask for a room with one as not all have them. The pool & hot tub area is small but clean. If it’s a busy night, the parking can be a challenge (at least in the winter). Since there was snow when we visited, they had parking spaces filled with snow & could not be parked in so I had a hard time finding a place to park in the evening. The one downside as seems to be the case at most hotels is the noise of people in the hallway (my neighbors were very loud when they came back at 2am) but once they were in their rooms I could not hear them unless they slammed the doors. It was difficult to adjust the thermostat and fan for it to be neither too warm or too cold. The matress was a bit soft for my preference. The room was extremely clean, and the normal amenities were provided. The water pressure in the shower was good, and the water temp adjustment good.

I will definitely stay again at the Fairfield Inn. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and quiet. My sister said "It was the most comfortable bed she had ever slept in." The continental breakfast had a large variety of choices.
