This is an older hotel and somewhat dated despite some attempts to freshen it up. We paid $199 for the night (fairly standard for a hotel in the area), but I think there are much nicer options nearby for your money.

We traveled to this hotel for a dance competition. There were 4 parties checking in at the same time and we requested rooms close to one another. The women helping us at the front desk were rude and extremely unaccommodating. Without a word, we all ended up on different floors. nice, but the chinese restaurant across the street is much different than the usual chinese restaurants. Probably more authentic, but hard to know what to order. Also the bed wasn't all that comfortable. But we loved the updated room, loved the green accents and modern restroom.

Arrived and went to the room. Got there just in time for the NFL play-off game. T.V. wouldn't turn on. Tried to call down to the desk. The phone didn't work. Had to run down to the lobby. Sent up someone to fix the problems very promptly, but missed the kick-off. We had signed on for the park and fly as we would be gone for a week. I asked about the […] shuttle schedule. The response was that it leaves on the 1/2 hour. We were not told that we had to call for the shuttle when we arrived back at the airport. We usually fly out of S.F. and the shuttle goes all day to and from the airport on schedule. We stood waiting for the shuttle. Finally called and that was when we were told we were supposed to call. I have stayed at this property multiple times in the past few years. Seems to always be in renovation. This time hallways and room seemed quite worn. Food choices limited. SJ airport needs a good mid priced option. This could be it. Right nod it's just good for location and price.

The hotel was beautiful and upgraded. Unfortunately, I was disturbed by people in another room slamming a door or cupboard and keeping me awake until after 10:45. I had until noon to check out but after I returned from taking a few things to the car at 9 a.m., a housekeeper was in my room cleaning up. She prepared the bed by not replacing the sheets, […] probably not knowing I was checking out at noon. I asked her to come back later and she said she did not understand English. The hotel looked okay from the outside, but was a weird shade of green...The inside of the main lobby was really nice and looked like a four star hotel. We were greeted by very friendly front desk people. Our room looked very nice with the exception of a very large 2 foot stain right in the middle of the carpet. There were no wash clothes at all, just […] bath towels and hand towels. The shower was wonderful! Now, the real negatives. The closet doors were off the tracks and impossible to open or close one side. The air conditioning turned to heat in the middle of the night and heated the room to 85 degree's...it was 90 outside! We tried turning it off and it took almost 20 minutes to stop. Also, there was no dresser to put clothes in. The TV stand had one side of shelves and the other side which was the size of a small refrigerator was nailed shut. complete waste of space. We will not be staying there again... Read more

I was disappointed in the Holiday Inn Express at SFO on McDonnell St. The hotel was in need of cleaning -- carpets in room, hall and lobby. Bed and bath linens were old. No mat in slippery bathtub. Food was unsavory and limted. NO HOT WATER for bathing FOR 15 HOURS! Front desk clerks showed little enthusiasm for their jobs and the guests.

Convenient and well laid out for our event. The restaurant food is OK - not exactly an exciting menu. Hasn't changed in the last 6-7 years. The rooms are comfortable, simple but clean. Rates are very reasonable. And light rail is across the street, which is great.

I personally was not satisfied with my stay at the hotel. I was woke up out of a dead sleep to a xouple arguing in the hallway. I called the front desk and they said they would send up security, I was awake until three in the morning listening to the couple argue whose room was right next door to mine, I will never go back again needless to say.

Housekeeping seemed to forget about me, they showed up late in the afternoon to clean, even tho' they were in the hallway when I left in the morning. The AC unit is VERY VERY LOUD, and the ice machine on the floor was not working. Nothing major, but annoying, I would expect those things from Joe's Hotel, not a Holiday Inn

Nice attempt to dress up an old hotel in a sketchy neighborhood. As a woman I did not feel safe, the carpets were old and filthy, the elevators disgustingly dirty.

Very well maintained hotel with good facilities. Clean. Right a cross the street from safe public transportation. However, there is a bar next door that hhaas a few undesireables hanging around. Other than that, it was perfect. I will def stay there again.

Great choice of dinner places close by, good enough for one night, decent bed and shower. Noisy air conditioner though (quite loud), and thermostat cable runs to a/c unit under carpet right in the middle of the walkway toward the desk and sitting area. Good staff, prompt service.

I only stayed here because the nicer hotels were booked. They put me in a first floor room designed for a wheelchair. I was told that was all that was available. There was no sink area to get dressed, the wooden seat for the shower would not fold up, there was no ironing board (it took 45 minutes to get one) and the shampoo etc. was not replenished […] after each night. I was very pleased to find a room. There were a couple of maintenance issues with the toilet but the staff was very gracious about getting them fixed. I am very confident the next guest to occupy the room will not experience any trouble with it. At checkout I followed an individual who was verbally abusive to the clerk. Through it she kept her cool […] and was very professional. I was civil when I discussed my maintenance issues. She responded in kind and reversed the charges on my breakfast.
