"Where to start? Not a great review..."
Well, there is a small laundry list. 1 - the folks who work here do not seem to know the place well. Called ahead of time and asked if there were washers and dryers. They said "no". Got here - and there were. But vending machine selling detergent non functional. Not to worry - we will get you some they say. An hour later while I was sitting in the laundry […] room waiting for them, and no one answered the front desk phone - no soap afterall. First night, shower would not drain - they called in maintenance. Second night - toilet plugged - maintenance again. Add to that running out of toilet paper and our key card ceasing to work 3 days in and ugh. It piles up. In August the outdoor pool was chilly - not heater there. Girl at front desk told us it would take a half an hour to go to DC by personal vehicle. WHAT? Anyone with google maps knows that unless you are in a vehicle that takes flight that was ridiculous. You have to know those things at the front desk. Walls are a little thin and windows even on the 20th floor let in loud street noises. Location-wise - that was a bonus. Safe to walk around with my kids. I can say that every person here had a smile and at least TRIED to help...but I would have to seriously think about staying here again. "Completely Unreliable-overbooks & sends ppl to BWI"
I will never stay at this hotel again. The hotel intentionally overbooked reservations and tried to send more than 20 groups to a Holiday Inn Express at the BWI airport instead. I had pre-paid for two hotel rooms and attempted to check in at 11am on the day of my reservation. The hotel staff confirmed our rooms but told us they were not yet ready. That […] was not a problem - we stored our luggage and came back around 5pm to get ready for a baseball game. We walked into a lobby full of angry guests and learned that our hotel rooms had also been given away. They tried to send people all the way out to BWI instead. Even without this fiasco, I can honestly say it was the most unorganized hotel I've ever been inside of. The staff weren't necessarily rude - they were just non-existent. I had stayed here in the past when it was a Sheraton and part of Starwood hotels. It is very clear why they are no longer part of the Starwood brand. We stayed from Thursday till Saturday am. We paid for a CLUB room. The only thing the club room came with was being on the 20th floor.
