I chose this hotel because of its location and the number of amenities (free breakfast, free wifi) that came with a low price with its 4 star rating. The hotel provided excellent service with a very helpful front desk staff. It's location was a little further north of the Lourve than I expected but at its price you can afford to pay for a few cab rides. […] It is very close to multiple metro stations if you are a metro user. The hotel is one block off of a major Blvd. which has endless French Cafes and American anchors such as Starbucks and McDonalds. The hotel is like most older European hotels with fairly small rooms and bathrooms (although these rooms were larger than most that I have stayed in while in Europe). The biggest draw back is that the hotel just appears worn, carpet and wall paper is old and needs to be replaced. I don't you can find a better deal then this hotel, if you are a value traveler and not worried about a glamorous room to sleep in then you should be happy. Read more

I was tired of reading reviews about hotels in Paris, until I stumbled on the Hotel Pavillon Opera. I was intrigued at first by the location: well inside the city, next to a Metro stop, and within walking distance of both the Montmartre district and the river. There are many excellent restaurants and bars along Bonne Nouvelle Avenue, which is a stone's […] throw from the hotel, and hipster Parisiens prowl the streets well into the wee hours. It is very safe. The hotel itself is older (read: run down), but it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Our room rental included breakfast, which I understand is quite expensive if not included, but it was excellent. Our group probably finished off two baskets of the freshly-baked croissants on our own. The staff is friendly and very helpful with directions or any other question about Paris. Location was very good. Close to Metro stops . Hotel breakfast was very nice. The hotel personel was helpful and nice. The only problem was the condition of the hotel, it really needs maintenance and upgrades. The hotel staff were very helpful! The food was good and the room clean. The location is alright, I was able to walk to the River Sienne in 20 minutes. As long as that sounds it was good to get a taste of the real Paris while on my walk. Everything you want to see is down by the river.

Where do I start, from the moment we arrived at the Hotel Pavillon Opera it was a nightmare. I was already prepared for the ignorant and mean attitudes of the French toward Americans but based upon reviews I was not prepared to experience it at this hotel. When I checked in I was greeted by snickers and laughs the moment I turned my back, might have […] been the cowboy hat and boots. A/C was not working the first two nights of my stay in an Executive Room but I was seldom in the room so it wasn’t bad I just opened the window at night. I complained about it the 3rd day and was told by the young blonde working the front desk that a technician would take a look at it along came snickers and laughs the moment I turned my back. She was consistently rude and ignorant even if I was asking for simple directions. I also let them know that the safe in my room was no longer working which another couple staying there had complained about also. I was informed by the night shift guy William ( the only decent employee) that he informed them 2 weeks ago that the A/C in room 612 wasn’t working! I complained to Expedia and finally on my last night they were able to get the hotel to switch my room. But of course the blonde at the front desk made a snippy comment to my wife after she was getting out of a taxi “Did you get your room switched yet!” Unbelievable! Read more

checked in, and was given a room in the rear of the Hotel (114?). The room stunk. We asked that the maid spray or try something to freshen up while we toured the city, came back and it still stunk. Our stay at Hotel Pavillion Opera was very pleasant. When we initially checked in we were given a room that was a bit run down (smaller room space-wise and walls were pretty beat up), however I changed to another room in the same category, which was a standard with 2 twin beds and this room was much better. The room was very nice. Comfortable beds and updated bathroom with shower and tub. The halls and walls could use some cleaning, painting and repair. The staff was very helpful and courteous.
