"Pullman Plaza for football"
For the second time this football season I have stayed at the Pullman Plaza. The first time both elevators were down and during this stay 1 elevator was out. Also, the wallpaper in my room was coming off of the wall and there was a black mold behind the wallpaper which was the obvious cause of it coming off the wall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was an older establishment. Room was adequately clean. It was quiet. Convenient to what we needed. If you are looking for a place to lodge for a night or two this will meet your needs - unless you have high expectations. Valet parking is free. Only basic amenities. Good rate thru hotels.comGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Frustrating - many guests over the weekend and only one elevator in service - with no attempt to fix it while we were there. The room was musty but clean. The staff were very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pullman is a classical old hotel and has lots of charm, The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful! Loved the staff!! Bar and restaurant had charm of years gone by. AIr conditioning worked well, and room was clean. The beds were comfortable, but not the pillows. Bathrooms were clean, but dated. Towels in the bath could be updated as those have seen […] some wear It is an old hotel, so you need to remember .I would stay at this hotel again, as it is centrally located to Marshall Universtity and downtown Huntington, so you can walk to places. Lots of great restaurants as well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Forget about staying here in the summer"
The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating as possible. However, the building is due for major updating. We were on the 11 th floor and our air conditioning did not work the 5 days we were there. It was 90 degrees outside! The maintenance staff came twice to check out the problem. They offered to move us but I declined after hearing several […] other people complain. Why pack up all of our stuff only to go to another hot room. I have a 5 year old who loved the pool and the staff was nice but these are the only positive things I can say about this hotel. I don't even want to go into the cleanliness of the place, the fact our remote had no back and tape holding the batteries in place and sleep number beds that didn't work. We visit huntington every year and will not be back to this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Breakfast was wonderful. Friendlyness of the staff was so-so. TV was awful, couldn't get espn or HBO or golf channel which were supposed to be available. Sink in bathroom did not drain well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was okay. Breakfast was great! Coffee condiments and tea bags were not replaced each day in our room. Also, the front desk was notified that the light above the bathroom sink was out and it was never replaced over the three days we were there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For the price we paid per room, this hotel was outstanding. The free breakfast was awesome, and we received a free drink ticket for the outside bar. It is likely the nicest Hotel in downtown Huntington. A mini fridge would be a nice addition to the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Always stay here!"
I love staying here! The staff is super friendly, there are many restaurants to choose from across the street, plus a movie theater and bookstore. The rooms are nice and the staff goes out of their way to accommodate youGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad - Great staff"
WiFi was so so and the Ethernet connection didn't work. Very helpful staff particularly on check in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed the stay, friendly staff. Loved the coupons for free breakfast and a free drink.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
lovely hotel, but a bit tattered. great location, friendly staff. overall, a good value, i would go back in a heartbeat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The condition of the room was awful. The drain in the bathtub drained the water very slow. There were dead bugs and yellow stains on bathroom floor. The furniture was very dusty. There air conditioner was wrapped with tape.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
convenient to where I was working and close to restaurants and shopsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Seemed older, but clean. Nice location to walk to movies and restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Night the lights went out in W.Va."
I was allowed to check in early at 12:00. The front desk staff was extremely nice and helpful. The day i checked in was the day the lights went out in West Virginia. The Staff was extremely overworked but stayed pleasant and friendly. Especially the Bell Men. There was one young african american bell man with a slight fro. He seemed to work his hours […] and even stayed over to make sure the customers were taken care of. I only wish I could say my employees of my company would have done that. Due to terrible storms throughout the area, electric was out for days. Pullman Hotel went above and beyond to make our stay great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great downtown location"
The hotel was in a perfect location for the 5K race I attended. I liked the valet parking in the hotel as this gave me peace of mind for my vehicle.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to everything we wanted to do"
The hotel staff where real nice. I dont know if it was just the floor we stayed on but the floor smelled like back up swear. other then that it was a nice stay. i did let the staff know about it when we where there. the hotel was in walking dis of everything that we where there to do.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was older and it showed in the decor, room & bath. On the other hand, the staff was very pleasant and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Walking distance to good restaurants a plus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Would not ever recommend this place to anyone. Parking is the worst and staff only makes it worse.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The description is a "little" miss leading as it relates to the River View Rooms as you cannot see the Ohio River from the 4th floor, but overall the rooms are fantabulous!!!!! I can't wait to go back!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great old hotel. They're trying to renovate it a bit and that's good because it needs it. The Pullman has always been the fancy hotel in Huntington and with just a little bit of renovation it could be that again. I had an upper floor room with a view of the river. The bed was great but the decor was dated and so was the big window (it was hard to see […] the river because the glass was about 50 years old/dirty). It was a nice stay, though, with a GREAT breakfast and valet parking for a pretty good price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not too bad"
We were just an hour outside of our hometown, so we knew the area pretty well. The only issue we had was finding a tube of chapstick (not ours) in the floor, and there were 2 burn holes in the outer comforter. We had requested a smoking room, but still didn't like the holes. This is supposed to be a nicer hotel, and I didn't expect that. The breakfast […] buffet the next morning was great, and was included with the room, and the staff was very nice and helpful. We would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"I will never stay here again."
09/14/14 Vince M Washington DC, District of Columbia
Fist of I will say that I did not have any problems with the staff. BUT, I hated this place. Not sure about the other rooms, but my room was so outdated that it put my in a fowl mood due to the price I paid for 2 nights. The sheets were clean but had stains. The couch cushing was stained. The toilet seat needed replaced. Still had a tube tv. Bed was hard. Just really outdated and not worth the price at all.
"Worst hotel stay"
When we arrived there was no toilet paper in our room. We called to ask for toilet paper and were laughed at and told it would be awhile since there is only one cleaning person for the entire hotel. The following day our towels were never replaced so we had to call and ask for towels. The next day we returned to our room in the late afternoon and AGAIN No toilet paper and no towels. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone. 45 minutes later we still had no toilet paper or towels. After calling AGAIN they transferred us to a housekeepings voicemail. After over an hour we finally got our towels but they showed up without toilet paper. After another 25 minutes someone showed up with toilet paper. The staff was incredibly rude to us. The staff kicked us off of the elevator at one point that said it was going down because they wanted to go up. We tried the breakfast that the hotel offered and I finished my entire meal and had to gofind a server so I could get a drink. She didn't even greet us at all when we arrived. She said that she didn't think that we wanted anything. I don't know why she would assume that if we were not asked?! The beds are hard and uncomfortable with a thin sheet as a blanket. Everything looks like it's from the 1970s, outdated and awful! I cannot believe how difficult it was to get the basics at this hotel. You shouldn't have to call and ask for toilet paper and towels! Do not stay here! Go elsewhere!

I could have forgiven the dated decor and poor lighting because the room was clean, safe and quiet. But, here I sit at 6:30am on a Saturday awake with a backache because the bed was the worst. The mattress has seen better days (I would estimate sometime around 1998). It provided no support. And, the sheets - thin and did not fit the bed. If you're not going to use a fitted sheet, you need to know how to tuck the sheet between the mattress & box spring so your guest doesn't wake up in a spaghetti tangle of bed linen; not unlike the one I find myself in right now. PS - it also would have been nice if the ice machine worked. Instead it's apparently used as a decorative feature plopped right in the middle of the hallway.
"Comfortable but dated"
08/17/14 George D Westfield, Massachusetts
We stayed at the Pullman Plaza for a service club convention. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Huntington, in easy walking distance to many restaurants. A very nice hot breakfast buffet was included with the room. Public areas are clean and relatively up-to-date. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable, but the room decor and furniture were very dated and a bit shabby. The TV is the room was an old lo-res CRT model. We had no issues with service, and the staff was attentive and responsive. The value was good for an older property.
"Expectations were over sold but...."

Lobby area was lovely, great expectations based on that appearance. My room was very nice and was what I requested with a Riverview. I wish I could have opened my slider. It was screwed shut. I had a few minor issues in the room which were handled quickly. The only issue I see is that maintenance seems to be lacking. The carpets need to be cleaned. Things were closed down like it used to be very active area but now either not enough business or not enough money to keep up. I would have expected with the pretty weather to have had the patio all clean and setup with the umbrella opened to make it inviting. I didnt go to the pool but it appeared to be clean and nice. My housekeeper was awesome and seemed concerned that I have all that I needed. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I wouldmcome back here but not for the regularnprice. The hotel is a $100 a nite not $199. Whoever owns this hotel needs to step it up. I would never complain about a free meal so I will not review the breakfast.
"This place is nothing like the website states!"
08/06/14 Beth D Louisa, Kentucky
You will regret it of you go here.Their website states that they have a hot tub, tanning beds, free breakfast and two free drinks a night...they have none of these things! When you go down to have your free breakfast..they inform you that you can have only the dry cereal but if you want the good breakfast that most other places supply free..you have to pay an additional $7.49 per person! The fanciest part of the place is a broken piano. The place is old and cheaply decorated.Snotty workers that act as if they're better than you, very rude! Not good at all.We had paid for a two night stay but left after one.We went to a Super 8 not far from there that was so much nicer, cleaner & some of the friendliest people we've ever met! Will never step foot in the Pullman Plaza Hotel again!

"New Management, Lower Service"
06/21/14 rmw820 Southfield, Michigan
We have been regulars at the hotel. Under the new management, I feel as though we were deceived. I had a certain expectation based on previous stays, but we were not informed during reservation that policies had changed so significantly. And not for the better. The complimentary breakfast has been greatly scaled down to a limited continental breakfast. However, we could upgrade and pay for what we were getting in the past. Not only did the new management get rid of the free valet service, now they are charging for parking. On top of all that, the quality of the hotel has dropped off. One elevator was out of service, beds were not neatly made, and ice machines were not working. The hotel is in an ideal location, but with all of the sudden unannounced changes, it is time to search for a new hotel.
"Clean But In Serious Need Of An Update"
06/02/14 lafguy60 Detroit, Michigan
Stayed at this hotel as part of a group tour and can say that the property was very clean both in the public areas and the room itself. That said the public areas are tired looking and the room furnishings are from the late 80s or early 90s. This is the first property that I have stayed at in the last 6 or 7 years that does not have flat screen televisions. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and accommodating - that is a very positive sign in my estimation.
"The Pullman Plaza - good staff, good rooms, so-so breakfast"
05/26/14 fpalmer321 Dunbar, West Virginia
I do enjoy staying at the downtown location in Huntington. The front desk staff is nice and responsive. The rooms are comfortable and nice. The drawback has to be the complimentary breakfast. On my last visit, there was not much left on the continental breakfast bar. Service was sort of slow. Even when I let them know the food needed to be replenished, nothing happened. I saw others come in later, look at a rather empty breakfast bar and leave disappointed.
