The hotel is beautiful! We loved the old granite/marble and the vintage feel. The only downfall was the room was very hot! We had the thermostat set at 60 degrees and it was at least 85 inside. It was just as hot in the hallway...so I don't think it was just our room- we were on the 6th floor and it was very hot/humid outside. When we got downstairs […] it was very cool so we know the air conditioning was on. When I told the front desk at checkout about it she said " I am so sorry about that" but she made no effort to compensate me for it. Otherwise everything else was excellent! The staff is friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was excellent. We loved the outside sitting area- very comfy! We will stay here again but will likely ask for a room on a lower floor due to the air conditioning situation. Read more

I liked the stay but do not think i wil use Hotels.com again. I booked, through you, a room with two double beds. I've stayed here plenty of times before, but mostly with a significant other only. This time I stayed in 2 rooms with 6 friends. We were there for a reunion and were doing a good amount of partying in the room. This was apparently a problem for the rest of the hotel. We weren't being overly loud but we did get a noise complaint. Not to mention a friend […] and I stayed up pretty late just chatting, and the person next door banged on the wall for us to be quiet. We were talking in normal, inside voices. The walls must be paper thin...? The rooms are pretty dated, so don't expect a whole lot past the lobby. The brunch is amazing on Sunday (get there early) and it's a good location. I would stay there again, but only with a significant other. If you have a bunch of people, stay at the Hilton which is half a block away. Read more

When we arrived the hotel was beautiful. Then we got to our room. It seemed very nice till we went into the bathroom. It was tiny and didn't look very clean. We ignored it and wrote it off as years of use. Then we decided to watch t.v well you only get like 5 channels and half were fuzzy. I had dropped the remote and it went under the bed so I got down […] to get it, well that's when I found the must disgusting thing of all. I enjoyed everything about the hotel except the parking. We had to pay $5.00 a day to park and when we got back to the hotel and the end of the day, the lot was full and all the spaces were taken by people at the bar/lounge. This is a historic location and worth staying at, even if you are overcoming the long-in-the-tooth aspects of the hotel. Old train station conversion with cool old architecture and very capable staff. The resturant was excellent with service great. The only downside being older rooms and dated carpeting, paint and decor.

PROS: courteous staff, good location with plenty of good bars and restaurants around. Highly recommend eating at Eden Cafe; CONS: hotel really old, bathroom faucets and shower barely work, shower has two settings: cold or 3rd degree burns, hotel didn't provide enough soap in the bathroom, this place could really use an uplift into the 21st century.

Only problem is there was a banging noise coming from the ceiling. My husband said it was the hot water pipe. I could not sleep more than two hours at a time. When the heat kicked on it was very loud as well. However, the room was clean and the staff was friendly. Also the hotel is very nice.

We have stayed at the Radisson Lackawanna Station many times over the past 10 years. We use it as a "get away" for ourselves and often arrange to meet friends there for the night. Our most recent stay was mostly favorable but it needs to be said that the new arrangement of the dining area known as Carmen's was a disappointment. The exclusiveness of […] the old arrangement and the privacy afforded the diners is now lost. I also felt that the menu was somewhat diminished. My meal, a seafood special, was excellent but the meals of two others in our party were less than we expected and have grown used to over the years. Frank and the rest of the wait staff were excellent, both for dinner and for breakfast and Larissa in the coffee shop was delightful. We enjoyed the pianist, but needed to request a table as far from him as possible in order to have a conversation while dining. I'm not sure what could be done to reduce the sound level from the piano given the acoustic characteristics of the of the room, but I'm sure there is a solution if it is a concern to enough others like us. None of my comments should be construed as negative enough to prevent us from returning and I glad to have the opportunity to share my thoughts. I hope they are shared with the hotel management staff. Read more

First of all, a wonderful greeting at the door. Bellhop friendly and helpful without being disrespectful. Front desk very helpful. Facility charming. Room could have been cleaner, the corners of the room very dusty. Room service was very well done! All in all a very pleasant stay.

Hotel room was comfortable and clean. It wasn't easy to regulate the heat in the room. It was either too warm or chilly. I turned off the blower, rather than have it going all night. But then I was awakened by the guy in the next room talking on the phone early in the morning. Perhaps if I had left the blower on, I would not have heard him.

This hotel was the most expensive in the area and we expected a bit more, I guess. We were promised Sleep Number beds by the online registration and did not get them. The room was rather sparse with only one chair for a room for four. The heater was so noisy that my son couldn't sleep well. The one thing that really burned me was that they charged […] us a $5 parking fee for a lot that was dangerously snow covered and icy. I saw two people slip on the ice while we were there and nobody took any effort to work further on the lot conditions. It was rather embarrassing, I would think, for Radisson. Read more

Wonderful ambiance in an old train station, one of the most beautiful in the US in it's day. Love the marble atrium converted to lounging/dining. Since it was the Radisson and I've heard such great reviews, it was a little disappointing. The room was expensive and it only had a bed, tv and small bathroom. They charged extra if you wanted a refrigerator. I ordered a king size bed, expecting the room to be fairly big and it was extremely small and cramped. What a great old hotel with very nice upkeep. The help at the front desk was very nice, they took my questions about the haunting of the hotel great, and questions about The Office. Even had a map of sites to see in Scranton relating to the show. The local area was nice with some amazing Christmas decorations going on at numerous houses n the area. We spent a Saturday night at the Radisson Lackawanna Station and were delighted from start to finish. The bell staff greeted us as we pulled up to the building I remember as the old passenger train station in the heart of the city. The hotel is clean, well staffed, and visually interesting. The rooms were okay but a bit on the older side. We choose a room with a sleep number bed which did not work; the staff did not offer to fix or to compensate for. It was pricey for what you get plus you have to pay for parking.
