"Still the best"
My first stay at The Drake was in the 60s with my family. Today, the service, cleanliness and location are still the best in Chicago. My only gripe on this stay was the slow drain in the bathroom sink. The Drake is a Chicago landmark for good reason!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I liked staying at the Drake because the sheets are comfortable, rooms are beautiful and clean, location of hotel could not be better plus the employees were very nice. The only problem was my room was next to some sort of utility room that buzzed all night. I was too tired to request a new room because I had a late check in anyway and didn't notice […] it until I was in bed. The noise stopped during the day but in the future, I would make sure I'm not in that room or request a room change. Being located next to an elevator or utility room is not uncommon for me when booking a room on hotel websites for a reduced price but it's usually not a problem when I ask for a new room. We had a good stay. But we had two rooms and they had not been properly cared for. One room was not completly cleaned when we checked in. Used shampoo bottles were still on sink. Hair in sink. "Couple's weekend"
We had a wonderful time but there were a few issues I would have called about had we stayed more than one night. The thermostat in the room was not working properly and the room was too warm. I tried to take a shower and there was more water coming out of the spout then the shower head. The tub filled up quickly and there was little pressure for my […] shower. It has been 20 years since we have last stayed at the Drake and the Grand Dame of Chicago Hotels hasn't lost any of her charm. The hotel is situated at the north end of the Magnificent Mile and our 6th floor room overlooked Michigan Avenue with easy access to shopping. We spent time everyday in our favorite bar the Coq d'Orr with its warm wood and subdued lighting. Food is avilable here also. "five star experience for a fraction of the price"
We had such a romantic night at the Drake. We started out with tea at the Palm Court (pricey but very fun). Our room was lovely and huge. And our dinner at the Cape Cod room was like going back in time to another era. The prices are a fraction of the price of the Ritz but every bit as good service and ambiance.
