I live in Vegas, and stay at different hotels all the time so I can enjoy the night life scene. I understand that Harrah's is an older hotel, but it was not worth $200 for a single night on a Wednesday!!! I would understand $200 maybe for the weekend, but this was ridiculous. Harrahs is great had bad issue with Piano Bar inside Harrahs and had to file complaint regarding employee. Manager at bar did not make it better. Although hotel was clean and comfortable, it was missing some amenities that I would otherwise expect as standard these days. The bathroom in our double queen room didn't have a blower (although the toilet was reminiscent of an airplane toilet, which we all liked, aka very low chance of clogs!). "Needs work on Customer Service"
We booked a non-smoking room with a King Bed, when we went to check in they told us they only had smoking rooms available or a handicap room with 2 beds. If we wanted a non-smoking room with a King Bed we would have to pay $30 extra per night to upgrade to a suite. We said no and took the handicap room - bad idea. We ended up sleeping in different beds […] and when we went to take a shower the floor was soaked and the shower head pointed at the wall, so you had to hold it with one hand while you tried to shower. When we went to the front desk for a new room they told us they didn't have any but we would be put on hold for one and to keep checking back with them. If we didn't keep checking back they would end up giving it to another person. Every hour we called and finally at 1pm we were able to get into a new room. "It's time has past."
I have stayed in many hotels over my 50 years....this particular one has seen better days. It was dirty,broken, and outdated. There were pieces of molding missing. The tub had a leaky faucet which ran continuously. The wallpaper was worn through on the outside edges of each wall. The carpet had several cigarette burns. There were shoe scuff marks all […] up and down the wall beside one of the beds. The window had not been cleaned (on the outside) for years.....or so it appeared. There was no WIFI! There was an either net cable, but it took two days to fix it. The television did not even work properly. We tried to watch a movie and the pay TV function was broken. They finally arranged to move us to another room, but never did! The front desk folks were kind, but it seemed they were just going through the motions and nothing was a priority. My wife and I are very easy going, low maintenance folks. But this hotel was a huge disappointment...and at about $115/night all in. It was just old and run down. You walk into any neighboring hotel and its like you rushed forward in time 30+ years. As glorious as Harrah's once was....this particular location is ready for the wrecking ball. While the location was ideal, that was about the only positive thing to be said about Harrahs. The whole hotel was dated, but beyond being out of fashion, it was dingy and dirty. The first room given to me had a broken door lock, and inoperable lamps. The second room had a functioning lock and lights, but didn't have internet capability. The linens […] were tidy but stained, and the housekeeping left dirty drip marks on the bathroom floor (perhaps cleaning their mop water would help). Carpets were worn, and showed their age with stains, patches, and overall wear. When speaking with the hospitality staff about concerns, I was repeatedly met with the "what do you expect me to do" attitude, Additionally I would add that the restaurants and dining establishments within the casino left you wanting; wanting better flavor, better price, and better service. Overall it seemed that the hotel and casino were in decline, the staff new it, and didn't care to , or couldn't help. For example, when asked about the lack of internet service, I was advised to "Go to McDonalds and use their WiFI" despite having paid the resort fee which included internet.
