1) worn out sheets had lint balls, nearly thread bare; 2) kid-sized double bed: my toes were dangling off foot of bed; 3) I am taller than the showerhead; 4) bath drain was rusty (that's like a $12 repair, people); 5 parking lot & exterior could use some work, like resurfacing, maybe a good power wash. On the other hand, staff was nice and friendly. Common areas had newer furniture.

The location of this hotel is wonderful. The hotel lobby and common areas are very nice. The rooms need updating! The photos shown were not the room we stayed in for 2 days. However, for our purpose staying here worked out well for us. We needed a place to sleep and it did serve that purpose. It looks like there is some type of renovation going on outside of the hotel. It is a perfect place if you have someone in St. Vincent's Hospital. It literally is next door and you don't have to drive there. Also located near restaurants, etc.

At this price, I think that the toilet should not wiggle when I set down. Too much patch work on wallpaper. Kick plates under vanities should be free of rust stains/runs.

Was looking for a hotel near surgery center and happened upon this place. It is a huge place, and looks abandoned, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hallways were extremely long...bringing to mind the many zombie movies I have seen..lol..but there was no fear of needing security. There were few other guests, PLENTY of privacy. I can't give it an A-1 rating, but it was comfortable enough and only $90.

Hotel needs some major upgrades. One of the rooms was very smelly and somewhat unclean. When reported to the staff they just apologized. I asked for another room and was told none were available. I returned a short time later and as I was passing by the desk the girl said oh yes we have a room available to another customer. I can't say whether the person had a reservation or not I just assumed she did not

There was no internet access, either in the room or in the lobby. No free breakfast, there was a restaurant on site. There was a large indoor pool and a place to sit or sun outdoors. The exercise room was good. There was only one person working the front desk at 9 am, which I would think would be the prime check-out time. There was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room.

The hotel was older, but maintained fairly well. The complaint we had was with the bathroom. Only one bar of soap, so you had to keep moving it back and forth from the shower to the sink. The biggest complaint was the the shower. The shower head must have been clogged with some buildup, because the water pressure out of it only sent the water put about a foot and a half making it very difficult the rinse off. The staff was excellant. The location of the hotel was excellant, very close to our medical appointment.

Stayed last two years for Indy 500 week. Even got same room. Wanted to book for next year but web site says "not available. Stay some place else", so I booked some place else for 2014. If we like that it will be "some place" else from now on.

Went down for the race. Good hotel for the price. Could use a little sprucing up. Desk service was very good. A little far from downtown but a great alternative to the hubbub and higher prices of downtown. Parking lot in need of major repair.

The Marten Hotel staff was most helpful.Check-in was quick,including a room change due to handicap reasons.Extra pillows were brought quickly and a wake-up call done within 5 minutes of the asked for time.Now the minus points.The décor is in need of refreshing,but was kept clean.The parking lot is in dire need of repaving.Drive carefully around the potholes.All told,we found our stay to be most pleasant and recommend Marten Hotel for your consideration.

Rate was too high for quality of room. Parking lot was a mess with massive potholes. Hallways were very dark. Only one elevator in whole hotel @ opposite end from lobby.

Old property - clean but in need of overhaul. Needs new carpets, mattresses and .... life. Parking pavement even in bad shape. My deal was good or I would be highly unhappy. Location made the value not horrible.

The location is good for the North Suburbs of Indy and especially if you have family in St Vincent's Hospital. The hotel is tired and badly needs a face lift. The pillows are lousy.

Staff were friendly and helpful; the bed very comfy; the pool, while small, was very pleasant. The facility was dated and on the verge of needing an overhaul. And, like most hotels, there was some lingering fake fragrance; good thing the windows open. But if you're looking for a clean, quiet place that's relatively cheap, this'll do ya.

We normally stay in 2-star places because of the price, but I'm glad we stayed here. That extra star brought a noticeable difference about most everything in the hotel. The pool was WARM! It did have a roped off deep end (didn't see that in the description or photos), but was very nice. The room service biscuits and gravy and eggs were a bit expensive, but the serving size was huge. Overall the facilities were very nice. There were only minor cosmetic problems with some various spots in the building, but they were actually working on some of them, as one of the business centers had just received some fresh paint and maintenance. (It still had the wet paint sign in the room. LOL.) We will definitely stay there again next summer when we visit our friends again.

We were a little nervous about this hotel after reading other reviews. However, I'm left wondering what hotel the other reviewers stayed at! The hotel was sooo quiet, clean and comfortable. The pool area was beautiful. The beds were the most comfortable we've ever had at a hotel and our stay was very quiet. It seems this hotel might be used primarily for hospital staff or guests...we saw very few guests during our stay. All in all, we were extremely pleased with the hotel and will definitely stay here again!

I would say this hotel is, OK. Nothing great, it does the job. We stayed here for the 2012 MotoGP race weekend so we just needed a roof over our head. It did the job. What was nice about that too is that we never had to hit the "main drag" going to the track. We park in Lot 2 so we were able to come in the back way every day. The pool was OK, a hot tub would have been real nice! The restaurant was, OK. We only went there for breakfast one morning and waited for a bout 3 mins for someone to seat us. We finally just sat ourselves and helped ourselves to the buffet. It was just eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, and breakfast potatoes. We paid $17, a little overpriced for what we got I think, but the food that was there was good. Overall it was a fine place at a good location at a decent price.

Marten House is a decent hotel. I would stay there again. The room was big and clean-had a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. The bathroom was small and annoying because the fan was wired in with the light switch and it was loud!! But not a huge complaint in the great scheme of things!

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff was great, friendly and helpful. Even at 10:30 p.m. the front desk clerk was eager to help us find a pizza for delivery and directed them to our location. Very nice neighborhood surrounds this location and we felt very safe driving through the area to get to our destination. I would highly recommend this for your next stay on the north side of Indianapolis.

Everyone at front desk friendly and helpful. when we asked about places to eat nearby also very helpful..Room was clean, Dislikes ---No light switch by the door as you entered the room.switch was over by a small sink. Hard to find in the dark. Nearest ice and vending machine was down a long hallway make a turn and down another very long hallway. Overall I would definitely stay here again anyway. .

This seemed like an old hotel that had been renovated. It was very nice. I didn't like being right next to St. Vincent hospital and there wasn't any place to walk to eat if you didn't eat in the hotel restaurant, which I didn't. It was very convienent to where I needed to be.

This hotel seems to host many things - conferences, wedding receptions, those visiting the hospital complex, etc. It was large which made me worry about noise, but it was surprisingly quiet. Clean and adequate, basic, no frills, but pleasant.

Its an old hotel. You can tell they work hard to keep it up. If you're tall you may not want sleep in these short beds. I am 5'6" and the bed was short for me. No breakfast or coffee in the morning. It is quiet. Close to a Trader Joe. If you're going to be busy and won't be in the room a lot this is an adequate hotel. The room was not expensive but it's outdated. The price matches the value just fine.

Overall, I would rate our stay as satisfactory. The pool was nice and staff seemed to be courteous. Bathroom was unsatisfactory, shower was extremely low pressured and temperature of water was uncontrollable. Carpet was a little dirty.

Vi hade en övernattning är på vår bilresa och behövde egentligen bara någonstans att sova. Hotellet ligger i ett sjukhusområde, så det verkar vara vanligt med sjukhusgäster och deras familjer. Nära till områden men de vanliga snabbmatsrestaurangerna. Rummet hade en märklig lukt av parfym när vi klev in men var rent i övrigt.
