For being a 5 star hotel, you would think that they would offer free wifi...nope, its 18 euros a day for in room and 10 euro AN HOUR in the lobby. Breakfast is 35 euro and a drink upstairs in the bar averages 13 euro. A friend of mine took a red bull from the mini bar and it was over 8 euro. I understand the cost of convenience, but this is stupid expensive. […] Only stay at this hotel if you really dont care about spending 35 euro for breakfast.... other then that, the room was average. Hotel staff was very cordial and helpful. The location is on or near major roads, but not in the middle of the city. You need cabs to get around to most tourist and shopping areas. The restaurant food is excellent, but very expensive. Also, don't use the mini-bar in the room, unless you don't mind spending almost $10 for a Coke. Athens Hilton was very convenient to the subway station, so very easy access to/from airport. We had a King room, Akropolis view which was great and the view was good, but the room got very hot in the afternoon as facing the afternoon sun. A/C was OK (?) not really cold and didn't cool the room down much until very late. Finally just kept the curtains […] closed to keep out the sun and keep the room cooler, but then no view of Akropolis...Pool was very nice, water almost too cold, but very refreshing after a long day out sightseeing. Not too many restaurants close by and the hotel was very expensive to eat or drink at. We did find several places to eat after walking around a bit within a 15 minute walk. THe cleanliness of the room was in big question and left me with an uncomfortable feeling.I showed the signs to a hotel personnel (--am not sure whether he was the manager whom I asked to see---) and he sent me wine and fruit. Moreover, the hotel did not have enough towels of all sizes , like face size, at the time when I asked.

Good overall. Only con is that they don't have free Wifii. Breakfast was terrific and the room was very spacious with a good bathroom that included both a tub and walk in shower.

We chose the Hilton for the last two nights of a 3 week trip to Greece -- we thought it would be nice to unwind and we thought the swimming pool would be nice for the kids in the hot July weather. The hotel was fine and met expectations -- nice and cool and comfortable with a nice pool but incredibly expensive. Bottles of water in the hotel room were […] 6 euros and a can of pringles in the mini bar was 13 euros. We skipped them but thought that was a bit crazy even for the Hilton. After spending 2 weeks at boutique hotels all over Greece we were happy to have reliable air conditioning and large rooms. The restaurants weren't good though -- they seem to cater to an 'International' palate. The dinner buffet was 37 euros a piece and had a lot of food and great selection but each dish was bland. The prime rib was good and they had a nice selection of olives and Greek cheeses and a nice desert buffet but otherwise the food was disappointing. Location is okay but it is not within easy walking distance of most of the sites. We walked to the Plaka but it took about 20 minutes. We took taxis for the rest. We stayed at the Electra Palace the first 5 nights of our trip and thought their location was perfect since they are right in the middle of things. So bottom line, it is a Hilton and lives up to Hilton standards of comfort but you get nothing of the Greek experience by staying there and food and incidentals will be expensive (18 euros a day for wi-fi). If you are a view person, pay the extra money for a room on the Acropolis side, when lit at night it is spectacular, the memory will stay w/ you (!!). The breakfast, was excellent, coffee / oj alone were worth the cost, let alone the setting, staff, and large variety of menu items.

We were very disappointed with our stay at the Hilton. The room was a nice size and it appeared to look good till we started to find things. The large lamp on the desk was broken and the light bulbs were just sitting under the lamp shade. The phone near the bed did not work. They only gave you one bar of soap, The bathroom floor looked and was dirty. […] The shower door had dirt and mold on the bottom of it. This is an ultramodern hotel that does not understand guests comfort. After paying an exorbitant amount for the room, you then are nicked and dimed for everything else. Not everyone who stays there are on expense accounts. Even the lowly Hampton Inn gives you free internet. I would not stay there again.

The hotel itself, including the staff, is top-notch. I would definitely stay there again. The only complaint is the hotel's location. The way I remembered how to find it on my way back was to turn right at the DVD porn shop. It's close enough to walk to the sights, however, so once you get out of the shady neighborhood it's in, you're all set.

It is close to the nice Kolonaki neighborhood and to the business downtown. There's a metro station Evangelismos just across the street. The airport express bus stop is in front of the hotel.
