This was an oasis in Amsterdam - a little away from the center but a few minutes walk to the Museum area. The personnel are professional and courteous. The bed was lovely and the room was very quiet. The restaurant is superb - fresh ingredients and sophistcated presentations.

Amsterdam is all about the inner city....or so i thought. The Hilton is set in a serene area , on a canal, with a beautiful garden. Three blocks away is a great and hip neighborhood with places for breakfast lunch or dinner....+ retail. Biking to the city is simple, and trams or buses are steps away. Looking for something different, with all the usual luxury amenities....try this out! (The only negative is the attempt to charge for every little service....no free water....little bar of soap included but there is an up-charge for better soap from a wonderfully decadent soap menu!!! Wifi charge is fair...but probably should be free. Restaurant and bar scene is great, but a bit over the top in cost.

We were pleased with the accommodations at this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and reasonably priced. Although the hotel is away from the central part of Amsterdam, we were easily able to travel all over using the tram stops nearby. Our only disappointment was with the relatively new concierge who helped us in booking tours and wasn't informative enough.

This is a beautiful hotel with a very friendly staff. Large, comfortable, luxurious rooms. In a quiet residential neighborhood but an easy walk to Van Gogh museum. Easy tram ride to everywhere else. A very good value, with agreat buffet breakfast. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel with excellent customer service. Its located in a quiet area of Amsterdam and backs onto a canal.There isn't too much to do out there, but there is the tram #16 which will take one to the museumplein and the dam.

Hotel is really out of the way of anything really. Couldnt find any shops near by. Would definitely pick something more central as travel to it cost a fortune. Room was nice and comfy. But did not agree with the £200 charge even after paying for the hotel on my card- which will be refunded but could take a month!! Holiday money gone!! Think this shouldve been explained before going so we wouldve had extra cash.

I chose Hilton Ansterdam as I was running the 2014 TCS Amsterdam marathon. Hilton hotel is the one of the closest to the Expo and Olympic stadium . It is far away from the City centre so you can focus on the race without getting distracted. However the Hilton is a bit dated compared to others I have stayed in. Canal facing rooms are bigger than car park facing due to the curvature of the hotel. Breakfast is rather limited compared to others I have been to. Boiled eggs or scrambled are the only egg options. Staff was Gio at concierge was amusing and informative.

I initially chose the Hilton as I was running the marathon and wanted to be close to the start at the Olympic Stadium. We found out it was also easy to get the tram into the centre and to the museums as well as great restaurants within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we all enjoyed the fabulous breakfasts. Definitely recommend

Rooms were very comfortable and clean though brown walls in the rooms are not to my taste. It was very nice of them to give us a free breakfast which we enjoyed (although they asked us to book direct next time, not through Expedia!). The staff were always very pleasant. However, despite advertising a 2pm check-in, the room was not ready when we arrived at 2.30 and we were given inaccurate information about when the room would be ready. We didn't get into our room till 4.30. We heard other guests at check-in complaining about the same issue. Front desk staff apologised and said that they were full and guests had checked out late. For me this was not good enough: In a hotel of quality, one expects to be able to access the room at the advertised time. It should also be noted that free WiFi was only available in part of the hotel lobby and needs a password from the front desk.

The hotel is not worth the rate it charged per day. Almost every thing is paid in the hotel right from internet, fitness centre, steam rooms etc. I have been a v frequent traveller and have visited many similar hotels but no where i have seen fitness centre charged never. For internet I agree there are some hotels who charge but not the kind of price i.e. 25 Euros per day. It is a utility and the quality cannot vary much from hotel to hotel. Overall customer experience is OKaish and not that great as per price charged

Very disappointed with the service Reception desk not well-staffed; minimum queue time approximately 15-20 minutes (at least when we required any assistance!) Rooms were not ready until 17:00 hrs, when the check-in times are 14:00 hrs. We had to wait so long before we could freshen up and go out. This delayed our entire evening and night plans. Couple of the Reception staff (some were very good as well!), including the manager were not friendly. I was not informed about the complaints policy by the hotel manager, and was told to write my concerns on a plain sheet of paper.....this is not at all acceptable and no where close to being professional. I found this attitude fairly rude.

Requested an early check-in via Expedia as we were arriving in at 6am on the day-was happy to see it was able to be accomodated. This is a wonderful hotel. It really is a shame that the cost of food including breakfast is far too expensive, otherwise this hotel would be truly perfect. We decided to eat away from the hotel as we felt that euro 33 was not an exceptable price to pay for an English breakfast. We found many places to eat in Amsterdam that were only a short walk away or an even quicker cycle. The rooms were lovely, with great views of the canal. The staff were courteous and friendly at all times. I think the hotel would benefit from reviewing the prices for food and drink, as the prices for both are really quite ridiculous.

The hotel location was excellent ! Even for a luxury hotel thought that the mini bar prices were ridiculously high and the fact that wifi is extra seems ridiculous as well. Although we loved the hotel won't go back because for the price the wifi in the rooms should be included.

They charged me twice for the same room. 1500 EUR instead of the 750 EUR I was supposed to pay. It's been a week I'm still chasing up for the money!!! Also very very bad location...really far away from the city centre. And the hotel is at best a dilapidated 4 star NOT a 5 star as they claim it to be.

This stay was so looked forward too. However when we arrived late afternoon the room wasn't ready for another hour. The room we were given initially wasn't the one we booked. The attitude of one very unhelpful receptionist stood out against all of the other helpful hotel staff. Would not stay here again.

A very nice hotel a little pricey but with excellent staff. A little further away from the centre than we realised but still only a tram ride away. Staff were very attentive and never mithered to much, room was excellent with a lovely canal view that we requested, would definitely go back and recommend.

Great location if you want a bit of peace and quiet and easy access to Dam Square, museums etc via the excellent tram system. Just be aware, drinks are very expensive in the bar! 16 Euro for one glass of wine!! Good size rooms, comfy beds. Get a room that over looks the canal at the back of the hotel. Not much of a view from the front as it's in a residential district. One or two good restaurants and small selection of shops nearby.

The staff were friendly and courteous; breakfast was great, as were the rooms. The location is a little off the beaten path - but only a little. Now, if they provided free wifi in the rooms, all of the above could be easily overlooked. Just saying.

You could say that's far away from city center, but its a walking distance, theres a lot of public transportation and a cab its around 15 euros. The only downfall its the terrible cable tv selection and no nightime decent room service, which is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. Overall quiet and in a nice safe neighborhood
