"Overall comfortable"
This hotel is in a fairly residential neighbourhood felt like coming home after a long day.Best part was being able to walk through Vondelpark and to the museums in about 10-15 minutes. Used the #16 tram from Emmastraat stop to Museumplein/Leidesplein/Centraal. The Apollolaan stop was useful to catch the #5 going to Zuid or Centraal station. Both are about a 3 minute walk. Bus 172 to Aalsmeer also stops at Emmastraat, so that was convenient. Bus 197 (4 euro) to Schipol does not stop here, only at museumsplein.A/C was not working.The only incredulous thing about the hotel is the internet price - 25 euro for a day. They have 3 computers in the business center but only the middle worked and it was also the only one attached to a printer, so everyone wanted to use that. There is free wireless in the lobby. Would have also liked a pay phone access in the lobby. They have one but you cannot dial from it. Breakfast was also expensive - so I walked 5 minutes to a bakery down the street in Cornelis Schyutplein as well as a super market. Le Pain Quitodien is also there. A wonderful and popular (gets booked fast) Italian restaurant Sardegna is also on this street.

"Staying in the Amsterdam Hilton"
The Hilton is an excellent hotel located in an excellent location. It is in a quiet neighborhood about a 20 min. walk to the museum district. There is a park in front of the hotel and a canal to the rear. We explored the neighborhood to find many lovely homes, restaurants and shops. There is a very large park about 20 min. to the rear of the hotel. Overall it proved to be an excellent choice.

"GREAT HOTEL... TERRIBLE STAFF"
The hotel is amazing, just by a canal, great restaurant area... but the front desk staff and the breakfast staff need to be informed that they work for Hilton and not another cheap brand. Price is not good at all and I suggest you to check for other options.

My partner and I loved our stay at Hilton Amsterdam. The front desk staff were very pleasant and eager to help. They also made it extra special for our anniversary with a superb room with an awesome view and a little celebratory treat! Breakfast was pretty good with the service friendly and attentive. My only complaint was dinner at the bar outside was mediocre. The setting however, made up for the lacklustre dinner.

This is a nice hotel however it is a business hotel. You will not get the real Amsterdam experience by staying here. Do yourself a favour and rent a canal house for your next stay.

"beautiful hotel near the museum area"
went with my daughter and granddaughter for a long week end. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel although large it was quiet (no banging doors) the staff were very attentive and although the hotel had a business feel to it the staff made a fuss of my granddaughter and she felt very special.

"Uncomfortable bed far from Amsterdam"
My wife and I stayed in the Hilton (as an Expedia mystery hotel) for a long weekend in mid-March. The hotel staff were helpful and the room was clean, but we found the bed extremely uncomfortable. Room service and the restaurants in the hotel were prohibitively expensive, and there isn't really much to do around the hotel meaning that you have to take the 20 minute tram in to central Amsterdam if you want to do anything. Not terrible, but certainly inconvenient.

Hotel is really out of the way of anything really. Couldnt find any shops near by. Would definitely pick something more central as travel to it cost a fortune. Room was nice and comfy. But did not agree with the £200 charge even after paying for the hotel on my card- which will be refunded but could take a month!! Holiday money gone!! Think this shouldve been explained before going so we wouldve had extra cash.

"Perfect hotel for the marathon runner"
I chose Hilton Ansterdam as I was running the 2014 TCS Amsterdam marathon. Hilton hotel is the one of the closest to the Expo and Olympic stadium . It is far away from the City centre so you can focus on the race without getting distracted. However the Hilton is a bit dated compared to others I have stayed in. Canal facing rooms are bigger than car park facing due to the curvature of the hotel. Breakfast is rather limited compared to others I have been to. Boiled eggs or scrambled are the only egg options. Staff was Gio at concierge was amusing and informative.

"Great hotel in a convenient location"
I initially chose the Hilton as I was running the marathon and wanted to be close to the start at the Olympic Stadium. We found out it was also easy to get the tram into the centre and to the museums as well as great restaurants within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we all enjoyed the fabulous breakfasts. Definitely recommend

Rooms were very comfortable and clean though brown walls in the rooms are not to my taste. It was very nice of them to give us a free breakfast which we enjoyed (although they asked us to book direct next time, not through Expedia!). The staff were always very pleasant. However, despite advertising a 2pm check-in, the room was not ready when we arrived at 2.30 and we were given inaccurate information about when the room would be ready. We didn't get into our room till 4.30. We heard other guests at check-in complaining about the same issue. Front desk staff apologised and said that they were full and guests had checked out late. For me this was not good enough: In a hotel of quality, one expects to be able to access the room at the advertised time. It should also be noted that free WiFi was only available in part of the hotel lobby and needs a password from the front desk.

The hotel is not worth the rate it charged per day. Almost every thing is paid in the hotel right from internet, fitness centre, steam rooms etc. I have been a v frequent traveller and have visited many similar hotels but no where i have seen fitness centre charged never. For internet I agree there are some hotels who charge but not the kind of price i.e. 25 Euros per day. It is a utility and the quality cannot vary much from hotel to hotel. Overall customer experience is OKaish and not that great as per price charged

"Disappointing experience"
Very disappointed with the service Reception desk not well-staffed; minimum queue time approximately 15-20 minutes (at least when we required any assistance!) Rooms were not ready until 17:00 hrs, when the check-in times are 14:00 hrs. We had to wait so long before we could freshen up and go out. This delayed our entire evening and night plans. Couple of the Reception staff (some were very good as well!), including the manager were not friendly. I was not informed about the complaints policy by the hotel manager, and was told to write my concerns on a plain sheet of paper.....this is not at all acceptable and no where close to being professional. I found this attitude fairly rude.

Requested an early check-in via Expedia as we were arriving in at 6am on the day-was happy to see it was able to be accomodated. Seemed a bit removed from the main area- not a large deterrant as it is a very walkable city but would have preferred to have spent less time getting to the areas and thus could have spent more time exploring.

"A very special hotel"
This is a wonderful hotel. It really is a shame that the cost of food including breakfast is far too expensive, otherwise this hotel would be truly perfect. We decided to eat away from the hotel as we felt that euro 33 was not an exceptable price to pay for an English breakfast. We found many places to eat in Amsterdam that were only a short walk away or an even quicker cycle. The rooms were lovely, with great views of the canal. The staff were courteous and friendly at all times. I think the hotel would benefit from reviewing the prices for food and drink, as the prices for both are really quite ridiculous.

The hotel location was excellent ! Even for a luxury hotel thought that the mini bar prices were ridiculously high and the fact that wifi is extra seems ridiculous as well. Although we loved the hotel won't go back because for the price the wifi in the rooms should be included.

"Good business hotel in quiet location"
Excellent stay. Good food and comfortable room. away from the centre (tram or taxi ride) but close enough to Amsterdam Zuid district to be a good business location.

"Clueless hotel reception"
They charged me twice for the same room. 1500 EUR instead of the 750 EUR I was supposed to pay. It's been a week I'm still chasing up for the money!!! Also very very bad location...really far away from the city centre. And the hotel is at best a dilapidated 4 star NOT a 5 star as they claim it to be.
