very beautiful hotel .....great staff......breakfast was better than most Italian hotel breakfasts that are included in price of room. Extremely convenient to train station...would most definitely stay there when we return to Firenze

It was perfect: close to the station in a quiet side street, surrounded by many restaurants (Italian and non), well appointed rooms, sparkling clean. Good service, very helpful front desk re maps and directions, and porter. Water in the bath was a little "hard", but that seems to be the case in Rome, Venice too. I would happily stay here again.

This is a city hotel, just blocks from the railroad and the tourist district. The staff were very friendly, and even offered a take-away breakfast when our flight was very early. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

This hotel is wonderful. It's very close to the train station, my wife and I walked with all four pieces of luggage and made it in 4-5 mintues. It's close to the market to buy leather goods and very easy to find the duomo. i would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone. Wifi was nice too.

Good location, close to Sta. Maria Novella Station, and meeting place for most tour groups. There is also a supermarket (mercato) around the block along via Nationale (between Piazza d Stazione and Fiume). The only negative side is they don't have a sign on the street, just make sure you have the house number and street name.

Excellent location near SMN train station, yet still quiet. Good breakfast buffet, very good restaurant, but no bar. Can get a drink with some effort in sitting area. Room very attractive, but not highly functional; no clock, limited storage, etc.

Absolutely great location, only one and a half blocks away from the train station and a short distance from the Dome. Heavy windows and doors keep hotel rooms very quiet. Energy efficient light bulbs in the bathroom take a few minutes to achieve their maximum brightness. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast room staff not very friendly nor […] helpful. Internet Wi-fi in the library on the first floor worked very well but the signal was weak/not-exist on the third flooor, which was inconvenient and required going to the library to use i-pad. Had to leave computer at front-desk for recharging since the only 110v electric socket in the bathroom worked only for heating devices/hairdriers and not for other appliances. Hotel was willing to exhange dollars for euros at the worst possible rate1:50 $/Euro instead of 1.2 or 1.25 $/Euro. Considering this hotel belongs tp the Summit hotels marketing association you would think it does not need to make outrageous profit margins on the currency exchange. Read more

Hotel overall was quite good. Friendly, helpful staff. 1 block from train station and right next to the center of Firenze makes it exceptionally convenient. I have 2 minor complaints. One - I have never seen a hotel staff get adamant about protecting their morning breakfast. I like to grab a coffee and take it back to my room or sit outside for a bit. […] Breakfast at this hotel is in the basement. However, they refused to let me take a cup of coffee out of the breakfast area. Not a huge deal, but it was really a silly policy. Hotel Albani Firenze is a beautiful hotel. I loved the style and look of the room -- so clean, fun wallpaper and I loved the bathroom. We were on the 4th floor and our balcony looked over the Duomo! It was awesome. (There was a little construction in the way, but still beautiful.) The bathrooms were super clean and updated and overall we loved the room. […] It is only 2-blocks from the train station and about a 10-15 minute walk to the Duomo. We loved it there! The breakfast was also very good -- it wasn't the best that had in Italy over our 10-day stay, but it still had a wide array of selection. The hotel is located in the center of Florence with an easy access to pretty much everything. The bus station, train station, and metro are within 5 min walk. Since we arrived by train, we just walked to the hotel with all our luggage without a problem. The staff at Albani was really great. My fiance lost a key to our room and the key couldn't be made […] till the next day, so the staff kept walking with us upstairs to let us in everytime; for the total of 5 times with a smile on their face. At the end of our stay, they didn't even charge us for replacement. They also give you this table cloth type of towels, so you gotta ask them for normal towels. other then that, everything was great! We loved the Albani hotel -- the location is literally 1 block from the Florence train station, which saved us a nice chunk of change on cab fare, and more importantly saved us time (i.e. we weren't stressed about getting to the train station to catch our train to Rome and spent the extra time exploring Florence). The neighborhood is safe and nice (there […] are budget hotels all around the neighborhood and budget restaurants, so this it was no Posh Madison Avenue location), but perfectly situated for us to walk all throughout town. Excellent front desk. Elegant hotel, nice sitting area alongside lobby with free internet. Really good breakfast with attentive staff. Very convenient location to train/bus station (one block away). We received a room with a small balcony which made this hotel memorable. Easy walk to Duomo and nice restaurants. Highly recommended.

The hotel is located just off a main road within a block of the SMN train station. Very convenient if you are traveling by train. The hotel is quiet and the rooms were very clean and a reasonable size. In one room there was no closet but a rod for hanging clothes in the large bathroom. The hotel was nice and conveniently located close to the train station and tourist attractions. There was a problem with the electricity in the hotel room. A flip of a certain switch would turn off everything! Also, there was a shortage of outlets! We had to unplug either the lamp or the TV if we wanted to charge our cell phone or computer. The only problem I had with this hotel is the service...or lack of service received when I sat out on the patio one evening. Although 2 waiters observed my arrival and paid much attention to the tables adjacent to me, probably because each had a solo female occupying it. After waiting 10 minutes for a waiter to even ask me if I wanted anything, it took […] another 10 minutes to receive my beer. Each time I tried to get the waiters attention to order food, I was ignored. They would not make eye contact and kept their back turned to me much of the time. I left after finishing my beer. I am glad I had not eaten at this hotel for my full 4 night stay if this was the service level. I did however take advantage of their breakfast which was okay and being self serve, can not comment on the service level as it takes little effort to put a coffee flask on the table. Read more

This hotel was excellent except for one problem. There was no ventilation. The windows were heavy, sound proofed, which is important because the hotel is close to town and the train station, perfect for us because we did not rent a car. Our stay was in late April, too early for them to turn on the air conditioning, and too late for the heat to be comfortable. […] So what did we have all night? Stale air, making it very difficult for 3 people in a room to sleep comfortably. I think they either need to put in ceiling fans or allow folks to turn on the ac for ventilation purposes. The staff suggested sleeping with the windows open but it is too noisy. Other than that, the hotel was great. Ironically, perhaps if you stay when the weather is more extreme (really hot or really cold) and you could turn on the heat or ac you might be more comfortable. Read more
