bathroom doesn't have ventilation or heater. Rm 618 water heater for the shower does'nt work on the first day of our stay May 11. Breakfast area needs more color to make it more cheerful for the guest in the morning. Dark room.

We as a couple, always get random hotel rooms just to get away for the night in different areas and always use hotels.com to find those last minute deals. We were very pleasantly surprised once we arrived to this hotel! It is all very clean and up to date (modern appearance). The room was great and the service was excellent. The ONLY nice thing I have to say was the bed was comfortable, even though it was probably 20 years old. We had small troubles to begin with, the first set of keys did not work, there was no toilet paper in the room, the phone wasnt hooked up to the front desk...but after the using the toilet in the morning and flushing it, it OVERFLOWED and GUSHED […] toilet water until there was an inch of water in the bathroom, and then it overflowed and started seeping into the MAIN bedroom towards our luggage!!! GALLONS AND GALLONS of toilet water. The front desk clerk was unconcerned and just offered a new room if we went to get keys. Never sent maintenance or anyone to check it out. After speaking to the desk mananger AND the general manager the next day, they treated it as an everyday occurance and no one seemed concerned. I have NEVER experienced that and never would never stay here again. I couldn't tell you about any of the amenenites or anything else, we didnt use them. And I understand the occasional bad thing happening, but the reaction of the staff was so understated it was almost laughable! Read more

Horrible experience at the MET. First day we arrived they put us in a king room when we reserved a double because we had 4 people. Their computers were down the 3 nights we were there, had to constantly ask someone to let us into our room or switch keys. Couldn't get into the doors that were closest to your room and we were far away from the entrance. […] Only nice thing about that place was the pool. Horrible breakfast! Luckily they gave us another room which they weren't too happy about doing because they had over booked. I booked the night before because the hotel was close to the meeting I was attending in the morning. I also had a meeting the next day at another close to the hotel location. This hotel is being overlooked in the Detroit market as viable location for business travel. I stayed here twice in the last 3 years. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the fitness center and sauna. It's convenient to the interstate and near restaurants. I think this place is a good value.

Location was good. Size of rooms were good. Quiet location. Small gift shop. Breakfast was included, but the same (mostly) unhealthy items everyday. Furniture in hotel was old and very dirty. Elevators near pool had moldy carpet in them. I requested a refrigerator and never got it. I requested an ice bucket and glasses and never got them. I experienced […] elevators not working several times. Wooden armories, in both rooms I stayed in, looked nice, but both had broken drawers. Heat and AC worked nicely in the second room, but I could not find any adjustment controls in the first. We brought our youth wrestling team into Detroit for a weekend event and this was the pefect hotel for us. Features such as very comfortable beds, large rooms, pool, and sauna made this a very nice stay for adults and children alike. The continental breakfast was great and even included a server making fresh waffles. Breakfast could have used some more […] protein offerings; however, we all left quite satisfied and ready for our competition. The rates were excellent. This was perhaps one of the best overall values I have ever experienced at a hotel. The next time a sporting event brings us to the Detroit area this will be the "go to" hotel for our team. The hotel I believe is useful for events and conferences and just a quick getaway for an over night stay if you live in the area. They have cut back in several areas for instance, you cannot call for room service. They disabled the button on the phone so if you need extra towels or anything you have to walk downstairs to get them yourself. Everything was... ok. Good enough. I'm glad I had a discount, and didn't have to pay full price for my stay. The contential breakfast was the worst: nothing but carbs and coffee. There weren't very many options, and it ended early.

Employees are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and fairly clean. Good value for the money. Our first assigned room had a phone and heater that malfunctioned and room was very distant from the lobby even though there were few guests.

This hotel is old and in need of a lot of work/rennovation. It was not a good experience at all. The bathtub was so nasty I could not and would not use it. The wall paper was coming off the wall - the furniture was terrible. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The pictures do not portray what the hotel actually looks like.

The room was spacious and inexpensive. The hotel interior was beautiful with nice carpets, large mirrors in lavish frames and clean marble and tile. However, the hotel is mostly vacant, giving it a semi-haunted feeling. The restaurant attached near the entrance is closed, the landscaping is non-existent, and the room had a few issues. Room issues included […] the following: unswept balcony, slow-draining tub, phone with malfunctioning quick dials (e.g., Guest Services), incompatible remote and TV. I called the front desk using my hand phone to request eating utensils, and the attendant said that he'd have them for me at the desk to pick up since he was the only staff member in the entire hotel. It was only 6:30 on a Sunday night. That said, the room was quiet, bed comfortable, and parking disturbingly easy due to the vacant parking lot. Read more

Stayed here with a group of friends for the weekend. Only paid about $65 for the night so wasn't expecting a lot. The hotel has a kind of haunted feel- with the empty restaurant next door and acres of open property around it. It's fairly well kept up, with comfortable beds (I have a bad back and waking up without pain is rare) and large rooms. I didn't […] have the promised coffee maker and fridge, and my phone didn't have a dial tone. The walls are paper thin but if you're tired you won't notice much- just don't plan to sleep late. The fire alarm went off at 2am and for those of us who actually paid attention and evacuated, there was little in the way of updates so we just went back to bed. My first room was so cold. I couldn't sleep there. TV was out of service. So I asked for changing the room. 2nd one was just ok. But in the next morning, I turned on the iron for preparing my meeting but it didn't work. Breakfast was poor also.

One of the worst places I have ever stayed. Could not use printer in 'business center' as it had no ink. Breakfast was cereal and toast. Bathroom was disgusting, stains all over the room. Black mold on shower curtain and soap dish in bathroom. DISGUSTING. Rude staff.

The restaurant that's supposed to be attached to the hotel, is no longer open which was a huge downfall for us. The breakfast was very low quality. We saw a female escort show up and leave an hour later, very obvious what was going on. The walls are thin, very thin to give you an idea. The pool area was very nice, a decent gym and small sauna. It was not a nice stay at all. I was told on line that the rooms would be adjoining for my kids. I got there and they were not adjoining. I asked about switching and was told if I would call Tim directly they would of been able to accommodate me better. When asking to switch I was told it would be more. I would of got he right room if I would of known […] the first time and it would of been the same price. The hotel was not busy and could of accommodate me. The rooms were dirty. There was hair in my tub and when the girls got out the extra blanket and pillow there was crumbs all over them. The ice machines on our floor did not work. I have stayed at the MET several times. The staff are friendly, sometimes a little disorganized... but always apologetic if tasks take a little longer than they should. If you are just looking for a clean and comfortable bed without the frills, this is the place.
