"Good location room a little bit outdated"
Hotel is conveniently located, but the neighborhood is also also a little sketchy. Lot of homeless peopleGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was perfect for our SF stay. The location was great and the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating if we needed anything. The rooms are very nice and roomy.Genuine Expedia guest review
"extremely crowded and busy"
not too bad of a place, but be advised that this hotel is a hot spot for conventions, which means there are tons, and I mean TONS, of people. at times, it's near impossible to grab an elevator. the lobby made me feel like I was at a busy airport. plus, the front desk and valet staff were less than friendly, maybe due to the fact that they were overworked, […] or maybe they need more training. the room was pretty standard, except for the super teeny tiny sink. it was literally airplane style sized. and zero water pressure. I won't stay again, especially at the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great stay. Much nicer room than I expected. Great beds, ample space, nice shower. Great view. Pool was nice. Staff was excellent, very responsive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Toilet was not cleaned and there was a huge mess."
It took us 30 mins to check in. Once we got to our room after a long trip the toilet was not cleaned with a really vile mess left inside. The hotel did respond quickly and got us into another room but the bathroom did not look like it was throughly cleaned. Breakfast was very difficult to find or even find a place to sit. There was not a waiting list […] and you just had to stand around until a table became available. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I felt it was a very cold atmosphere with no personality. First impression very disappointing for what we paid. Bland and crazy busy. Everything was adequate but nothing more. I would never go there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was comfortable. Be sure to ask for a renovated room. Took a cab from the airport as parking at the hotel is very expensive and there are car rentals right across the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Concierge Brandon ROCKS!"
The Concierge desk was fantastic. They had lots of creative ideas and really went the extra mile. Brandon was incredible in that he would literally offer the jacket off his back to a guest (which actually happened to a guest who was in front of me and who arrived to the hotel without her jacket). The kids and I only had a few hours in SF, and Brandon […] helped to arrange a night tour for us through one of the Doormen (Py). Simply wonderful. Thank you for one of the best "mini" vacations ever! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"great room but strange bathroom doors"
Great stay and the Hilton personnel were outstanding, very friendly, and helpful. Great location too. The only issue I had was with the strange doors to the bathroom. Sort of French doors with a frosted glass. Not very much privacy when you are in such a small space. I would have preferred a solid wooden door. Probably sounds trivial but it seemed odd […] to me. "Hôtel well located close to union square"
No free wifi, the parking is more than expensive. There is no fridge in the room. The hotel is noisy, house keeping knocks the door early on the morning. I expected better amenities from this kind of hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Newly renovated room"
The room was newly renovated I was told upon check-in. It was very clean, but very small, as was the bathroom. The bathroom sink was like being in a camper trailer. Also for the price, there should have been an in room mini-bar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very good, the price was very high, and for a weekend, it was very crowded.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hilton Union Square San Francisco NOT RECOMMENDED!"
The Concierge was extremely unfriendly and not very helpful. They continued to give us incorrect information. Overall experience was less than satisfactory and I would not recommend this hotel. Hilton always advertises themselves as the most friendly of hotels....well definitely not at Union Square in San Francisco!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to shopping and museums."
I liked the hotel very much. We had a very nice room. You could tell the decode was a little dated. However the hotel was clean. The room was large. We had two queen beds and a seating area. I travelled for a class and took my two teenage daughters. We shopped, went to museums and had a great time. The urban tavern had great food. We liked the fresh […] fruits and vegetables. We enjoyed the pool and the work-out facilities. I did not find the check-in or out crowded at all but perhaps we came and left at the right times. We ate at 6 a.m. every morning so there were no lines. We had a fabulous time and found the staff to be very helpful. Great place to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Always Something Going On"
The Hilton Union Square is now my go to hotel for business travel. It is close to where I need to go as well as any tourist spots. However if you are looking for a quite hotel I would say pass. There is always some sort of convention going on. While my room is quite the lobby is always buzzing. Also be careful where you walk outside the hotel. If you […] go one block in the wrong direction you are where all the homeless hang out. While most don't bother you, you can never be too careful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"DON'T purchase the Continental Breakfast option"
This is an expensive hotel but average in price for Union Square. I had the option to book the continental breakfast option for 2 when there were 4 of us staying, so I did. Bad idea. That breakfast option was a certificate to the Starbucks in the lobby - - 1 beverage, 1 pastry, 1 banana - - that was it - - for $30 extra/night!! Our room was upgraded […] (Tower 2) but the hotel in general and throughout the meeting rooms especially could use some work. Just be aware when you book, you can buy those same items from the Starbucks in the lobby for half the price without purchasing the "breakfast upgrade". Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Location is prefect. Close to all the shops and restaurants. So close to the Bart station. Overall amazing stayGenuine Expedia guest review
Although the hotel is dated, the rooms are comfortable and clean, nice bedding, and the staff are cordial and professional. It is a good location with an easy walk to shopping and dining.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenience At Its Finest"
Overall, I was very impressed with the Hilton Union Square. The location is incredibly central to everywhere I needed to go -- you're right next to Union Square, a short walk to the Financial District, and pretty much a quick cab ride to anywhere else in the city. I was staying in one of the urban contemporary rooms on the HHonors floor and it was lovely […] -- incredibly clean, simple design, and very quiet even though I was right on O'Farrell. I'm not sure I'd stay here on a romantic getaway, but for a business trip, it was the perfect fit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Union Square Hotel"
I have stayed at many hotels near Union Square in San Francisco. This was by far the best - a large room, great room service food, and comfortable bed! Highly recommend!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Visiting the city with family and friends"
I have stayed at the Hilton Union Square previously. The hotel lobby is beautiful but it is often crowded with guests using the free wi-fi as you are charged $12.95 per day for wi-fi in your room. I am not sure if there are 3 towers total but we used the parking garage ($47 a day for in/out parking) and we had to exit the parking garage in tower three […] but our room was in tower one. Our room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean. We walked to AT & T Park for a Giants game. It is about a 2 mile walk. There are many restaurants and shopping near by in Union Square. We drive to Fisherman's Wharf but I am sure we could have taken the BART. I would stay at this hotel again. "Would not stay hear again for the price you pay"
Everything is way too pricey and the surrounding area is not the nicest of areas. Over $100 for breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children under the age of 8.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location to China town"
Stayed in a modern room. Good location though and nice facilities. Breakfast seemed over priced so we ate out at another location closeby. Easy walk to China town. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance! Did not like that there was no lock on the bathroom door or a fan in the bathroom. Also would have liked a microwave for the price we paid […] for the room. Chose to park in city parking right across the street. About $15.00 a day cheaper than what the Hilton was charging for parking. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
There is a Starbucks in the lobby so there were a LOT of outside people just coming in for coffee and hanging out. It was fine just a busy place so be prepared. The parking garage is funky and tough if you have a big vehicle. We managed to find a place for our van and decided not to move it all weekend taking public transport instead. Lots of homeless […] in the area..pretty sad but guess that is true for most of SF. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I've stayed here before and enjoy it immensely. It has everything you want in a San Fran hotel but a little more reasonably (a little, I said) that the other big names. My only re commendation would be to park in the Pay Parking building next to the Hilton, as its rates are way better than the Hilton's.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I've stayed in Tower 2 before and that's why I booked this hotel again. We were put in Tower 1 which is a drastic difference. I would NOT have stayed here had I known this would happen. I would have gladly paid $20 extra a night to stay somewhere else in the area. The hotel itself is a good location and nice amenities. My room was below par.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was in a great location. The room was comfortable. The free Starbucks breakfast was nice. Could not give five stars because we lugged six bags from taxi, propping open door for each other, to checkin to room with no assistance. Same at check out.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Typical big downtown hotel with typical flaws."
As a large downtown, very nice hotel (if you get an upgraded room) but there are flaws that come with a downtown hotel. Self parking is fifty four per night. Breakfast buffet is twenty nine. Parking garage was quite a ways from the tower I stayed in. I parked on the ninth floor, took elevator to the lobby level, walked a couple hundred feet to tower […] 1 and took elevator up to 42nd floor. It's about a 15 minute ordeal. The neighborhood is very sketchy. We were there for a wedding and one of the wedding guests got mugged. Granted he got very drunk and it didn't help that it was late at night but it's not an excuse. We didn't feel comfortable walking the streets after dark. Fortunately we had our car and could go elsewhere to eat. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was great. I was on the 38th floor and the views were breath-taking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel. Close to food, shopping, and transportation. I didn't like that I saw trash in the hallway, but other that the hotel was clean. I also felt that the food prices were too high. It was like $22 for eggs.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very expensive with very poor facilities"
Extremely disappointing stay. No free wi-fi, no refrigerator in the room. The AC in the room was not working. Very bad service. No complimentary breakfast and to top it all had to pay $50 for the parking !!! Totally not worth the money.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worst Hotel Ever"
Everyone has a terrible attitude in the front desk, the rooms are like being in a box, the parking lot is ridiculous expensive for 2 nights we paid $107. When I called the front desk trying to get a better room, they told me i had to pay more and that since I booked through Expedia they couldn't help much because it is not the preferred option to book […] this hotel, so why having it on this site.....Expedia i think this is something you guys must watch. The only thing about this hotel was breakfast it was good, but since they couldn't have something good, they had the same exact breakfast the following day, nothing changed, so i'm wondering if those are the leftovers. TERRIBLE HOTEL I DON'T RECOMMEND IT AT ALL THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
