"Dissapointed and Let Down"
Honestly I was expecting more from such an impressive hotel and was let down. The staff was somewhat rude and not very helpful. I'm in my late 20s but I'm often told I look younger and at this hotel I felt like I was treated and ignored at times as if I was not a paying customer or a very important person. Parking was horrible! And as previously stated […] staff kept waving off and dismissing my questions/concerns. The rooms were ok. The pillows amazing! But sadly because of the service I would not stay here again.. The LA Checkers Hilton was much much MUCH better! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel. Location is great and rooms were very clean. Very hospitable and attentive staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice place. Just wish the rooms were larger for the price I paid. Overall nice though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Hotel near Union Square"
We had a wonderful experience at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square hotel. Everything about our stay was excellent. Check in and check out was easy. Our room was really comfortable. We had sufficient outlets to charge our IPhone, IPad and Kindles. The bathroom shower was superb. The location was ideal for our sightseeing activities. Would go back […] to stay there in a heartbeat. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel within walking distance to Moscone"
The Hilton was a nice hotel within walking distance to the Moscone Center where a conference was being held - so that convenience was a big plus. The staff was friendly and checkin/check out was pretty painless. I didn't have a car so I can't speak to the parking situation, but taxis were always available if needed right outside the building.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Paid $485 and could not get a bottle of water"
When you pay US$ 485 for a room you kind of expect a minimal level of benefits included in your stay, maybe a complementary bottle of water or included WiFi (specially if you are a Hilton Gold member). I was very upset to realize that the room was VERY small, the bed rather uncomfortable, there was no water in the room (actually in the whole 16th floor […] there was just one vending machine that was out of water), and when I tried to connect to the Wifi and tried to log in as a Hilton Honnors Gold member the system did not work and had to pay $16 for WiFi Access. Definitely not met my expectations Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, great service!"
People are fantastic! Room was clean and comfortable. Could have used a little more space in the bathroom for toiletries. The neighborhood, while it looks safe, is quite sketchy. Unfortunately, my new laptop was stolen from the Hotel Nikko next door while attending a conference in their 3rd floor ballroom. Don't get too comfortable!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Big and Busy"
A very large hotel and very busy, even chaotic. People everywhere. It was difficult to walk across the lobby. The staff was adequately pleasant, but not genuinely so. SF is known for great hotels. I have stayed in some. This is not a great hotel, but it is in a great location, close to Union Square.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Tis a Ship I Say"
The rooms are narrow like a cabin on a ship. Takes 5 minutes to get hot water to flow on 17th floor with weak water pressure. There was a Conference hosted at the hotel so we couldnt even get a coffee without waiting forever in the lobby. There is no way this Hilton should be a 4 star hotel. "I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton in Union Square."
The hotel was very nice and clean. My room was great. There was a lot of restaurants and shops in the area. The parking garage was nice too. I would recommend this hotel and stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"At a stone throw from Union Square!"
Although the hotel doesn't look as new as it once was, it still looks very elegant and distinguished. But don't be misguided by its looks, it is even more functional than good looking. Whether you're visiting San Francisco as tourist or for business, Hilton at Union Square is a great choice.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was well maintained and the staff was very helpful. The location was great -- we walked to Union Square in a matter of 10 minutes. Parking was about $30 for 24 hrs. A little steep after having already paid the price for the room. The room wasn't huge, but it wasn't too small either. The room was clean, smelled good, and had a great view of […] the city. My only complaint is that the shower water was cold! I gave it time to warm up, but ended up taking an uncomfortable 3 minute shower -- shivering the entire time. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. "Outstanding coverage and responsiveness by staff."
We were there for a convention and I was amazed at how well the staff managed the large number of people present with calmness and good cheer. They were everywhere, providing support and direction to anyone who looked like they needed a hand. Room was a double, small but very nice, one of the newly renovated ones. No view but very quiet. "Good stay with family"
Late check in(around 11:00 p.m.) was smooth with no waiting time. Room was compact but comfortable. The temperature of hot water keep high during 4 persons taking bath and shower. Doormen suggested us to borrow umbrella when we were going outside without them. It was very helpful because it was whole rain day. We would like to come back to this hotel […] if any chance. The hotel was easily accessible to public transportation and close enough to walk to Fisherman's Wharf. However, if you took a wrong turn, the neighborhood was pretty sketchy. Overall, it was a good hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Centrally located and very good service"
The price was right and the service was fine. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My stay there was very nice. The parking per night is very high with addition taxes per vehicle.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This experience was not the "Hilton" quality I expected. As big as the lobby was the room was super tiny. The noise level throughout the night did not allow for rest. Our room faced the street. People were coming and going all night. I know the hotel cant control people but there was no sound barrier at allGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is a very busy place! The room was just ok. We had to have maintenance come to replaced a very tattered lamp shade. Also, fix the TV. We could not get the movie to play. I had to call for toiletries. location was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and comfortable"
Nice room. Comfortable and clean. Navigation around the physical plant took a day or so to master;Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room itself was clean and the location is very convenient. The walls were way too thin however. My husband and I were awoken by the very loud housekeeping crew slamming doors and shouting at 6 am every morning we stayed there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weekend in SFO"
Everything was what you would expect of a Hilton - which is good overall. Unfortunately, a neighboring room decided to have a party at 3:30AM. Called the hotel operator at 3:50 to notify security. No one showed up so I called Security directly at 4:10 and a guard arrived at 4:30. Once they showed up everything got very quiet very quickly. Can't blame […] Hilton for the idiots next door, but the response time could be improved. On another similar note, our room backed up to the housekeeping storage room. Not a bad thing until housekeeping showed up Sunday morning and started moving their large linen carts. They banged them against the wall that was our headboard which cut off any chance of sleeping in due to the late night partiers. Talked with the housekeeping staff and they immediately stopped and apologized. I'd go there again - just might ask for a room away from housekeeping and idiots... We stayed on a Saturday night. The room next to use had a huge party in their room and in the hall from 2am til 4am. I finally called the hotel desk at 4am and security was on their way already. I know it is not the hotels fault, but feel they could have handled it sooner. The walls are super thin.Genuine Expedia guest review
/Check in was awful. Long lines and unfriendly clerk. The room was like a closet. It appeared as though it had been part of another room at one time or another. I do not plan to stay there again and I do not believe the star rating that you indicated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was really disappointed with my experience at the Hilton this past weekend. I usually stay at the Hyatt Regency, but was meeting a friend who was here on business and decided to stay at the same hotel she was at. The staff seemed so put out that any of us were there. I am always very friendly and pretty easy going, knowing that it isn't easy for people […] in the service industry, but even as a guest making no demands, I felt they were looking down on us. My disappointment was such that I will not be returning to this hotel anytime soon. There are plenty of excellent options in the city and I prefer to have people who at least pretend they're happy to check me into my room. I would recommend the Hyatt, Le Meridien, or the W to anyone looking for a place to stay over this Hilton. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good stay, but some issues"
I was staying at the Hilton Union Square for a business conference. Overall our stay was nice, and the Urban Tavern restaurant was very good. The staff were generally very helpful. The location is very convenient to shopping and other sights, but the neighborhood itself gets a bit sketchy within short walking distance. We had a room in Tower 1, and […] had some issues with appliances in the room (hairdryer and coffee maker both needed to be replaced during our stay). Also, it seemed in need of a general update/remodel (electrical outlets were loose, for instance). Overall, a good stay, but some issues. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not a lot of working desk space. There were no fridge or microwave in the room. The room doesn't smell great as you enter. The shampoo in the bathroom was leaking. The water from the faucet was murky. It's within walking distance from the Union Square and Market Street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very close to tenderloin. Wish I knew."
This hotel was a stones throw away from the notorious Tenderloin, which is the bum area. They have lots of soup kitchens there we heard and so all the homeless people are here. It was kind of a good and bad thing. If you turn right out of the hotel, you are close to Union Square. But if you turn left you're in tenderloin. Everyone told us not to walk […] around this area at night. I wish I knew how close it was! I think I would have stayed somewhere else. The good thing was we were close to the cable car and muni buses to hop on to go around the city. I guess you can't really avoid the homeless problem in San Francisco! The hotel had a nice pool and a hot tub. Only one hot tub though so it for quite busy in the evenings. I wish the pool and hot tub were open later. They are open from 5am-9pm. "Nice hotel near union square"
Affordable hotel near union square, the cable cars, and the heart of town. Rooms were nice but still affordable. WiFi is a bit of a joke as both the basic ($13 a day) and premium service ($17 a day) were too slow to do anything.Genuine Expedia guest review

My husband and I were visiting the city with 5 other couples. The person who checked us in convinced us to upgrade to the urban style room. It was a small, very cramped room with a tiny bathroom. It was not what we expected and felt our friends had a much larger, nicer room. We were told we would also receive free internet in our room and we never able […] to access the service. As far as the hotel, we liked the location and the concierge desk was most helpful! We should have stayed with our original reservation and not paid for an upgrade!!!! Stayed at the Hilton with several guys for a bachelor party in the Bay. Great location - the center of night-life scenes, easy to access places via walking or a very short cab ride. Customer service was prompt. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
