"Hotel Ok, expensive dining"
Over all the hotel is ok, the room we stayed in could use a bit of updating, (ex. shower curtain was ripped, stains in the carpet), kind of disappointed in housekeeping, there was 4 of use staying in the room, they only left 3 towels, the one day we had no clean towels, light bulb burnt out in bathroom never was replaced...the dining on the resort is […] very expensive and there is really no other options around. The staff for the most part was friendly and helpful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel, but nothing within walking distance."
We had a very nice time at this hotel. We would like to have been closer to things that we could walk to, but all in all this was very nice place to stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Expensive but Worth it?"
Our family of 4 stayed in July and so being high season, we paid over $430 a night. I was trying to really impress my wife for our anniversary. I was let down with the room. Yes, it was clean and yes we could see the ocean. But, for that price, I was expecting to get more than that. The room did not have a little wet bar, did not have a second mirror […] or table outside of the bathroom for others to dress at. It did not have a chair. Not one. We did enjoy seeing the fireworks every night at Seaworld. The restaurant is too expensive. The first night we ate there our bill was $250 for a family of four. We were much more careful after that. The pool is nice. Good for little ones. The area around the hotel is fantastic with a beach and rentable items like paddle boards, etc. Overall, just felt that we paid too much for what we got. "Nice view of beach. Right on the water."
The hotel was located on the water with some great ocean views. We got to see the awesome fireworks show from Sea World. We didn't use the facilities at all because we were there just overnight but it appeared nice from a glance. I would book there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful resort but the bathrooms need work"
The resort is beautiful, located on it's own private little beach with a great pool and hot tubs. The rooms are spacious and clean but the bathrooms need work. There are no fans in the bathrooms and the mirrors fog up and it gets so uncomfortable in there that no one else can get ready while someone is showering. The rooms need a separate sink and mirror […] area so each family member can get ready in a timely manner. The toilets are so tiny and low to the ground making it awkward as well. The hotel is nice but the bathrooms need help. The sport rental is nice to have but make sure you are a seasoned water sport fanatic because the traffic on the ocean is CRAZY BUSY making it very dangerous because many people do not follow the laws. Having Seaworld just across the bay is great because at night you have a perfect viewing area for the fireworks right on the beach. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location has everything you need"
I have stayed at many hotels in San Diego, but this one by far is my farovite! Great service, pool, beach front , beach rentals....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pool and entertainment but hidden costs"
The hotel has a great pool and provided some good entertainment for our kids. The local restaurant is way over priced but the restaurant around the pool has some good options but isn't open very much. They hit you with hidden fees for each night of $22 for things that should be included like internet and access to the gym. Unfortunately, these are mandatory […] fees so after being nickel and dimed at the hotel it was very frustrating. Next time we go down to the area I think I will be looking elsewhere. Hilton. On the beach. San Diego. Sounds like a sure-thing, right? At check-in, I noticed a certainly coldness from the fellow who checked me in. I did express some surprise at the parking fee, and I think that may have irritated him. I hasten to add that I wasn't rude about it, but did express surprise. My room was dark, narrow and cave-like (although […] the bed was comfortable, I must admit). I was hoping for quiet time to think, and I could find no place to enjoy the quiet sound of the surf. Music was loudly piped-in everywhere. I found it somewhat maddening that I could enjoy a peaceful afternoon by the pool or the beach. I also, didn't realize when I booked, that the place is so isolated from...well, just about everything else! I felt like a prisoner in the place. I found the concierge staff wonderful! I was very impressed. Although I didn't enjoy my stay, the place would probably be a better experience for a family with small children. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hilton Resort and Spa, Mission Bay, San Diego"
This hotel and spa is close to the ocean and Sea World. We paid extra for a room that is close to the beach area and inlet water. The room was OK but not great. Although the room is clean and comfortable for the money we paid it should have had things like a soaker tub and updated tile, wallpaper, and paint. The pool area is nice with a very attentive […] staff to bring food and drinks and we spent a great deal of time here. I recommend renting a car to travel to offsite restaurants because the bar and restaurant on premise was a bit expensive. Overall, we would stay here again but just get a standard room and rental car. The staff overall was courteous and we were pleased. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice place but all the extra fees are terrible!!"
Everything was great but the fees they get you with 22 a day for wifi and another 35 just for parking is ridiculous!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location is what you get"
Basic. Basic. Basic. Everything was out of date. Needed extension cord to plug in my phone if I wanted it at the nightstand. $8 water bottles. $35 a day to self park. It says valet fee but you park it yourself. $22 a day resort fee, but if you order room service it's a $6 delivery charge. The rooms are average at best. Decent pool. Decent view, if you […] don't mind the view of fiesta island. Basically they charge you for every breath you take inside this hotel. Overall this hotel is average at best. Won't stay here again. But the location is great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Wonderful place, great pool and services. Would go there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Out dated and over priced."
First of all they charge $35 a day to park, $22 for resort fee (which in 1980 it may have been). Loud music until midnight near poolside and then back on again at 7am!!! Landscapers were out blowing leafs at 6:30 am so I had a total of 6 and a half hours of sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not a resort! horrible price gouging"
Stay clear of this hotel, they will do anything to throw additional fees and services charges without any warning. It has exorbitant parking fees where there is no shortage of parking. You will have to pay for amenities that every other hotel offers a free as part of the resort fee so you pay triple. Truly Out of date.Few staff available and they over […] work them,I felt sorry for the maid staff 1 women for an entire building it took her 4hrs to get to my rm by then it was late afternoon. Horrible price gouging upon my leaving I felt completely ripped off for what I had experienced. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Average place to stay"
Check-in clerk didn't not provide much information and was difficult to hear as she spoke quite softly. She didn't even tell us the check-out time. The elevator was broken so had to hike up six flights of stairs. There was a private party the night we stayed so we were awakened when the attendees came back to their rooms at 2:00 a.m. were kept awake […] for awhile. The hotel was at low occupancy so not sure why they put all the guest so close together. A room service tray was left in the hallway almost the entire time we were there so we had to walk past it many times, rather gross. When we checked out the clerk didn't ask anything about our stay experience, just charged my card. On the positive side, the beds were very comfortable and we had a nice view. My overall opinion is that hotel is was over priced for the for the experience. Next time i will spend more to stay elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel and location. Bathroom needs an upgrade for the price. And a couple extra fees to squeeze some more money or of you. All in all it was OK. I'd probably search around before booking next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing BAY FRONT view!"
Loved the view when you step outside your back patio with a fire pit available, but when we walked into our king bed villa, foyer & bathroom floors were dirty.. when we requested it to be cleaned when we went out for a late lunch-we came back to dirty floors again. When we called to follow up, they asked if we realized they may be scuff marks. Aside […] from that situation, our stay was enjoyable, the room itself was modern & cozy. Since it's in a secluded area, we would stay here again to enjoy the views but definitely not worth the rate if you consider overall service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"just be prepared"
Great hotel, great location but when booking on expedia don't forget the $22 dollar a day Resort charge, and the $35.00 a day parking charge. They make up for some of it buy having a really nice happy hour, every day of the week.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was beautiful. Close to the beach and within driving distance to the city and attractions.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel's location is the biggest attraction, the room was very comfortable and clean but not quite a four star resort and a little over pricedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
As other reviews stated the $35/day parking fee and $22/day resort fee are rediculous. Where else are you supposed to park your car if you choose to stay at their resort?!? For this reason alone I would never stay here again or recommend. The hotel is dated and just ok. The bay view room was a joke. Could barely see the bay through the trees and other […] building... Payed extra for this by the way. Finally the bed was hard and uncomfortable and room was dark and smelled weird. If your shopping around, keep looking!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We really enjoyed our last minute trip and were very impressed with everything. Only thing I didn't care for was the Aquatic restaurant, my husband liked his meal but I didn't care for mine.Genuine Expedia guest review

Not enough dinning choices nearby unless you drive at least few miles away. The high charge for parking is a killer for traveler.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel over priced not up to date"
I thought the hotel had a mildew smell thru out the place. The beds weren't comfy at all due to that's back hurts. The bathroom is the worse no ventilation. When u shower all the steam stayed in the room. Thats probably why hotel smells like mildew. It looks clean but not really. I would not recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to family"
Everything was good except for the parking fees of $37.00 a day and the resort fees of $22.00 per day, you should not have to pay extra for parking and playing ping pong ridiculous,I hope other people complain about the extra feesGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"beautiful property; poorly maintained rooms"
beautiful view; dank and smelly room; drapes, carpet need replacing; large roaches in bathroom did not unzip my luggageGenuine Expedia guest review
"Watch for all the fees! $56 Extra/day!!!"
Nice hotel but they gauge you with all the fees because you have no other options! $22 resort fee? for slow internet!! $34/day for SELF PARKING!! you really have no other choice to park so you have you to pay the fee. I would recommend staying somewhere else so you can get more for your dollar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed for 6 nights for a conference. Resort had great views of mission bay. Relaxing and leisurely. Only complaint is the high parking fee (over 30 bucks a day!). I didn't mind the resort fee as much.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Loved this place"
Our plans cowherd to sleep in this hotel only so we can visit Sea World. But hotel was so awesome we only went to sea world 1 day out of 3. We decided to stay and enjoy this hotel. We lived it and definitely planing a new trip out there with the family.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice grounds - rooms need repairs."
The grounds were beautiful and in great condition. I was surprised at some of the disrepair of our room. Holes in the ceiling, paint bubbled in different places in the ceiling and the lamp shade appeared to have been crushed several times. The gate to the pool was also broken for one day and would not accept our key so this was an inconvenience. However […] the room was clean and the staff was nice. Although I sat at the pool for several hours and never was asked if I wanted anything from the bar/restaurant. Need bigger trash cans in the rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wouldn't go back"
With so many other options no need to go back. Bit old and it shows. Plus it's $34 bucks to park your car. Ridiculous!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall we enjoyed staying at the Hilton. Great view from our room, overlooking Mission Bay. We even were able to witness the Sea World fireworks! Unfortunately, due to cold weather in March, we were not able to partake in the Pool area to its full potential. The hot tubs were overcrowded with kids and teens. (Suggestion: need larger hot tubs to accommodate […] the guests for this hotel size, or add an adult only hot tub.) The lighting in our room was a bit odd, no lamps matched, horrible entrance area to the room (bad use/wasted space). The location of the hotel is great, easy 5 minute drive to Old Town and quick trip into Downtown. Definitely coming back for a quick overnight getaway. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Sea World; but beware of additional fees"
Overall, nice hotel with being really close to Mission Bay/beach area and Sea World. La Jolla is also a 5 min drive from this place. But the hotel charges resort charges/parking for your vehicle, which are over n above the room rate mentioned. So be prepared to pay the extra when you finally settle your bill.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Unfortunately, the garden view room had a very distinct musty smell. The hotel did change my room to the second floor, which solved the problem. Overall, the hotel stay was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right on the beach.......AWESOME !!"
Everything was great.......we ate right there by the beach....hotel was nice.....garden view was great......AWESOME hotel.....will return again !!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I don't think I have a good time here..I ordered the room in hotels.com, so I had paid for the whole money.. But when I checked out, the hotel also charged the money. Even though I told them I had paid the money on the internet before. When I tole them again and show them my order information, they returned the money...That's really bad experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was good overall. I wish they included the parking fee in the price of the hotel itself. It was $34 just to park overnight. And a $22 fee that was charged daily for the use of their recreational stuff, which should have also been included. Resort itself was clean and everyone was friendly that worked there. The pool was amazing!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice location, TOO MANY EXTRA FEEs"
The hotel has a nice location. Nice views of the Bay; HOWEVER they charged me $34 a day for parking my rental car and $22 a day was charged for facility fees. Not worth it, chose another more modern hotel as you can get anywhere you need to in San Diego very EASY.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Parking fee didn't make sense for this area"
Hotel is very nice. There is plenty of parking spaces however the hotel charges $39 which seemed unnecessary and didn't want to waive. There is plenty of street parking but it states no parking from 2am to 4am which made you have to pay the fee.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Caribbean Resort in the city"
My wife and son joined me on a business trip and the Hilton was a great place for them to hang out while I worked. Its location on the water/beach gave the hotel a resort feel although it is very close to downtown and attractions. Definitely would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
