"Perfect!"
The Hotel was great! Beth at the front desk (I believe that was her name) helped us make a special day even more special. The staff was friendly, excellent and helpful with our special requests. The room had a beautiful silver champagne bucket as the ice bucket, which was perfect for the bottle of champagne! The restaurant was wonderful and also went out of their way to make it a special dining experience. Lovely grounds and very romantic setting.

"Hidden Charges and Expensive, even for San Diego"
We live in San Diego and we just wanted to get away from the kids for Valentine's Day. We knew we're going to spend some money but being duped into paying a Parking Fee! Come on! The hotel is fine. It is not a resort though. They claim that they have a recreational path but it is really just the boardwalk that is part of Mission Bay Park. The breakfast was super expensive. I think my wife and I paid about a $60 for a breakfast buffet. I don't mind paying $60 for dinner but when they try and sneak in powered eggs and outsourced pastries I feel like a fool. Being a San Diegan, I am informing travelers to keep looking. This place isn't even in the heart of the action and certainly isn't known for it's dining, casual or otherwise. In my opinion, this place was priced about twice as much as it is worth and I will not be coming back here. There are too many great places in San Diego to be taken for a fool by this place again.

"Nice quiet resort close to the beach."
My Wife and I stayed here for her birthday. The staff was extremely friendly and even provided a complimentary room upgrade because of the special occasion. The suite itself was very comfortable and clean. I wish we could have taken full advantage of the many ammenities offered but we already had other plans. The only thing that seemed a little ridiculous was the $35 overnight parking fee and the $25 ammenities fee (seeing as we were unable to use any of the ammenities) Overall a great hotel and we would definitely stay there again.

"Time for a renovation"
This is our 4th visit here. Originally, we were put in a room that smelled of damp and faced a fence and a road. We changed rooms and were downgraded from a suite to a regular room (but had already paid for the suite) but at least we had the view we requested. The hotel is nice, but 1) the place needs a bit of a facelift - tear in the curtain, wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom - little things like that; and 2) they need to increase their staff. Everyone was very nice, but they were definitely understaffed, which caused delays in food & beverage service, in particular.

"Overall a Good Hotel"
It was a nice, clean hotel by the lagoon and very quite and peaceful location. We were in a villa room and there was a tent with a loud party in it till 10:45pm, when I complained the staff was right there to move our room to a quieter location and they gave my whole family a free full breakfast the next morning. So the staff takes care of you very well. The pool restaurant\bar was closed as it is seasonal and that we didn't know which was a little disappointing. Overall the hotel is nice/ location great and I would recommend staying there as it's close to Seaworld and very close to Old Town and it has it's own rental dock for bikes, boats, jet skis, etc.

"Meh"
The waiter we had was completely disinterested in us and barely came around even though there were only 3 other tables in the restaurant being used. He didn't like it when I said we were sharing a meal (due to price). "The surf and turf" dinner was a very small piece of steak with a single scallop on top. That's it. We saw him again later in the bar area watching the cardinals game. So much for my romantic dinner surprise for my husband...it was lame! On top of the resort charge there is an additional $35 parking fee. Way over priced for what we got.

"I enjoyed my stay there enough to stay again."
We were in San Diego for a short vacation for the family. The hotel is conveniently located to Sea World. It had restaurants on premises which also made it convenient, though prices were on the high end.

The hotel is greatly located at Mission Bay with easy access to nearby tourist areas. It has a great pool. We arrived at 3PM and they told us our room was not ready and they would call us. 2 hours later, I checked back as they had not called us and they told us the room was ready. The rooms are Ok but not very clean. Twice on our visit they came after 4PM for room service. The front desk staff failed to give me a parking pass and they nearly towed my car away. We visited the restaurant and several of the items we requested of the menu were not available and the food was otherwise tasting only OK.

"Nice but weary of the fees adding up."
Pros: Fireplaces, pool is heated well, great tennis courts, staff seem to really care. Cons: Pricing structure and fees. When I bought a coffee the team member circle the tip section. We were worried about using the soap in the bathroom because we did not know if there would be more charges. They charge $100 per day 'deposit'. Bike rental is $36 per person. I think I might of liked a higher end hotel. Was worried about parking and towing. All in all, I had a hard time relaxing. On the last day my room key did not work before check out.

"Would definately stay again"
Location was close to everything but in a nice quiet location. I was in crutches so had the handicapped room, the bathroom door was awkward. Loved the hot tub and restaraunt was delicious!

"Bad smell and Unjustified charges"
The hotel rooms have a bad smell that never goes away. They also charge for parking $35 dollars a day... this is not justified. If you book a hotel room why do you have to pay to park your car and you are part of the residents during your stay?????? Moreso such a high fee. You also have pay resort fee. I have never seen anything like this before. I will not be staying here again.

"One night stay"
Stayed in room 721, room with balcony facing the bay, great views, a little musty upon first entrance, but opening the sliding door and turning on the air for a few minutes to circulate the room helps, elevator sounds can be heard from the room when quiet throughout the night, possibly sounds of the cables sliding up/down.

"Very disappointing! Not a spa for sure!"
This hotel is advertised as a spa. That is a tremendous stretch! When we arrived the hotel looked nice and kept up. Away from downtown but still close enough. It was that but service was terrible. We got to the hotel and took showers to freshen up. We noticed that there wasn't a hair dryer. I asked the front desk if they could send one to our room. 6 hours later I had to call again and ask again, finally they brought us one. The gym is a tiny, approximate, 10 X 30 room with minimal equipment. Two of the four days we went to the pool there were no towels or someone at the pool to ask. On one day I waited for about 30 minutes to see if someone would come out. I finally had to go to the front desk to ask for towels for the pool. Ten minutes later a lady came out with a fresh batch of clean towels. When I told her thank you for the towels she told me that the towels that were sitting there in the laundry basket were clean as well. Not exactly spa like! There also is no water anywhere by the pool. My family and I walked on the beach that they advertise with the hotel. I've been on a lot of beaches but have never been on one quite like this one. It was smushy like sewage and as you walk down you'll find a overflow waste pipe. Probably last on my list was the fact that the hotel is only about 5 miles from the airport but they have no pick up or drop off service. Oh, excuse me, they do but there is a charge for that service.

"Location is very good, close to many attractions."
The staff was helpful with information on the many local attractions. One of the restaurants was being redone and was under construction for the whole week we were there. The lighting in our room left a lot to be desired. One of the lights didn't work at all and was not repaired despite our several requests to put in a new bulb or find the cause of it not working. The parking fee and "resort fee" seemed a bit excessive.

"Great location"
The hotel was located in a great location. I 5 was right there so getting around was a breeze. The lighting in our room was terrible...very dim. I hate rain shower heads because there no pressure. The water was on full hot and it was still not hot enough for me.

"Pleasant surprise"
I was very surprised how beautiful the hotel was. I was there for the 3 day walk for Susan G Komen and was surprised the room did not come with a bath. But I worked around that. The double shower head in the room was awesome after walking 20+ miles. I was a tad disappointed in the cleaning of the room, for instant there was a smudge on the mirror that was untouched each day. But overall I would enjoy to come back to this hotel to actually visit and enjoy the area.

"Less than average hotel"
I got to the hotel very late and tired to realize there was power outage and all the staff told me was my resort fee would be waived. I felt that was insensitive because everything is not about money. The bath was dirty with hair strands and WC wouldn't flush. Informed the housekeeper but nothing was done. The plumbing issue was eventually sorted out.

"Nice hotel close to water and parks"
Facilities and grounds were well kept. The The room was comfortable. The parking fee is outrageous. That high fee will make me not want to come back. Make sure the the receptionist tells you that your parking permit is enclosed with your room key because you will get a parking ticket with the threat of towing your vehicle if she doesn't. Unfortunately, my receptionist never told me and I got the ticket.

"Nice but too many added fees"
Nice hotel. You can tell the buiding is older but it's been updated with new decor. The location was great. I would like to stay here in the summer when we can use the facilities more. It's disappointing you have to pay the $22.50 per night resort fee even if you're not using the resort (pool, tennis, gym). I was also disappointed in the $35 per night parking fee. All the hidden costs make a family vacation very expensive. The lobby did help me out with discounted two day passed to Sea World so that was helpful and saved me some $$.

"Nice hotel on Mission Bay, San Diego, Ca."
Very nice facilities and staff, swimming pool area was great, plenty of lounge seating and cabanas. Very good restaurant and bar on property, good food and service. Close to old town, Gaslamp district and Mission/ Pacific beaches. Need to have a rental care to get to these locations (not within walking distance) or taxi/ shuttle services are available but will cost you $20 each way.

"Awesome hotel."
The hotel maybe old but as the saying goes old but gold but this time it's better than gold,it's my best experience ever.Rooms are getting a bit old but being near to sea world the hotel is perfection itself.

"Nice quiet location on the bay"
Enjoyed my stay. Nice area to walk by the beach. Lots of fun water toys available. Was a very relaxing stay. Food was good, room was very comfy, staff was very helpful

Hotel was OK. The room itself was very clean, but a few things were out dated including the bathroom. We also checked out happy hour and finally found it outside of the pool area and it was pretty much a restaurant with still pricy drinks and apps with few selections.

"Not so happy."
The best thing about the hotel is its location. You have way too many fees. Parking should be free (or at least factored into the advertised room rate). Cannot believe all the stuff you charge for. Room appeared clean, but when put under a black light it was horrible. Carpet was hardly vacuumed and seems like forever since it has had a shampoo. We typically stay at Marriotts. This was an opportunity to encourage us to switch. When looking for hotels, Hilton wont be topping our list.

"Good location a little out of the way but quiet"
The hotel was great for our vacation. The parking is a little over priced compared to other hotels I have stayed at especially since it isn't even valet. Overall a nice area and nice facility

"Nice Hotel, Close to attractions."
The hotel is clean, the staff is wonderful, and you can't beat the quiet(er) location all to itself. It's convenient to all San Diego attractions and access to freeways.

"beautiful hotel room, with the view to match!"
It was one of the best experiences i have had traveling. The staff was on point and payed attention to every detail. Room service, servicing the room when we wanted and making sure we could extend in the same room. The bed was heaven to sleep on and the patio was amazing the amenities were overwhelming. The pool and hot tubs, restaurant down stairs, soo very good. We honestly couldn't of asked for better and are 99.9 percent going to return.

"Great Place for Family Vacation"
We stayed for 3 nights with our 3 children. This hotel was in a great location and we all loved the pool area! We stayed in a waterfront villa, would highly recommend spending the extra money! Great views! For the price, the rooms could be updated a little. We also thought the charge for parking was much higher than surrounding hotel properties. I also wish there was a coin laundry on site as well as more child/family friendly food choices. We had to go out to find more affordable food for our family. We loved the San Diego area and will most likely stay at this hotel the next time we visit.

"uncomfortable room for 5 nights"
room needs update in furniture. stairs need to be removed in room 610 bed few inches from stairs- no comfortable chair inside the room.

"Outrages prices for extras!!!"
Extra charges for everything! chairs, $35 parking per night, $22 daily resort fee, firewood, the extra prices were outrages. One of our family members was charged three times for there room.
