I booked two nights as a Christmas gift for our son & daughter-in-law to be used as a getaway for a spring weekend in April. They were told at the check-in that the reserved room was not available. -although the reservation was made and confirmed back in December- They were given a very small room with a smaller bed, which they objected to once they saw it, and the next room was not much better. After spending 1 night, they were reassigned a room as originally booked for the remaining night. They stated that while nice, they do not anticipate staying there again, given the price of accommodations and their experience.

Everything was dreamy, the hotel is very close to the city centre and the hotel's history is just amazing. The only thing I have to complain about is the shower, I could not get the right water tempeture no matter how hard I tried, it was either too hot or too cold.

Great hotel, great location. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean but a bit dated. They were great about upgrading us to a bigger room and accommodating our request for a rollaway bed for our daughter. It would have been really tight in a regular room. Would stay here again...but also look forward to when they update the rooms!

We stayed for a weekend plus the staff was very helpful but when it came time to check out i was suprised by the price of the parking. The Internet worked on and off and the cable was the same. The hotel staff assisted us and ended up crediting us for the cost. We found the restaurant on site to be very pricee and the food wasn't that good. Over all we had a good time.

we chose the Waldorf because of it's historical significance, lovely deco styling, location. Upon arrival by cab absolutely no one helped us with our bags, there was a doorman who opened the cab door but did nothing more. Didn't even hold the door for us. We hauled the suitcases up the stairs ourselves then found our way to the front desk. The desk clerk was curt and apparently bored with us. The concierge was ok, but not at all what you would call friendly and made it clear when he was done with us and our tourist questions. Sadly, they all lived up to the less than pleasant reputation of New Yorkers. The beds were comfortable, but the shower had 3 different gobs of hair on the walls (clearly no one wiped down the tile walls--either day we were there). The lobby is lovely, but clearly the rooms are showing a little age. The water pressure and hot water were pretty non-existent. The location was fantastic, though, for walking to key points of interest.

We should have directed your driver to our motor court- this is our preferred area to help guests with luggage. It is our greeter on the curb's job to welcome guests to the hotel and get guests cabs from the hotel, meaning that he cannot leave that post as you can imagine. Still, I apologize that you were unimpressed with this first interaction and that we were not able to make up for it elsewhere. We are so proud of our inspirational spaces; we continue to receive tremendous feedback. Yet the guest room product, albeit it comprised of rooms with new large flat screen televisions, 9" mattresses, outstanding bedding, and newish carpet, does indeed reflect its heritage. We look forward to a grand restoration of our building, and I hope we have the pleasure of showing you the results of this strategy for improvement firsthand. was just great staying in an iconic property. i liked the fact that one had to be more than decently dressed to be in the lobby area. great location with bars, restaurants, banks etc. probably the only hotel i have stayed in nyc with fully covered porch for getting in and out of hotel,the rain didn't make any mess with clothes,luggage etc.

Not a great old Walorf Astoria anymore. It lost its genuine comfort and sophistication. You would expect a lot from the hotel like Waldorf Astoria and I believe I am entitled to because I chose the hotel from its renowned name. But don't hold your expectation too high as it is after all just another Hilton chain.

This hotel is in serious need of a renovation. The rooms are outdated with fading wallpaper, ugly bathrooms, and uncomfortable beds. I've been in a lot nicer hotels for a lot less money. The only thing keeping this hotel afloat is its reputation and central location.

Excellent first class all the way. The only thing I would suggest is to have more restaurants open for lunch at earlier hours. We had a tight schedule and wanted to grab a bite at 11:15am and nothing was open in the entire hotel. We sat in the Peacock Alley table until 11:35am and decided when no one acknowledged us to go out of the hotel for lunch.

I booked a one bedroom suite for myself and three teenage girls. The girls loved their corner room and the living room complete with fireplace and fake fire. The house keeping promptly responded to a request for an extra bathrobe. The check in process was well organized (despite a line)and we were able to obtain an early check in as well as store luggage next day that was readily retrieved. The business center attendant was very accomadating and helpful with printing out tickets( which were giving me an issue through my website). We did not eat there but the overall history, grandeur, (the girls enjoyed checking out the Theater and Banquet rooms)and service was just the experience we were looking for.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Waldorf - an absolutely beautiful hotel. My only complaint would be that we paid for a One king bedroom Signature Suite but that is not what we received. We arrived early and were told that our suite wasn't ready yet so they were going to check us into another room that would be ready by 11am. I specifically asked if it was the Signature suite and was told that yes it was. Suite 14K was not what is pictured on the Waldorf website. It was nice and I didn't want to spoil any part of our romantic weekend by debating with hotel staff so I didn't say anything. Very nice staff and again, an absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was very clean, a bit dated as other reviewers have noted but clean. The hotel is located vey close to the Empire State Bldg, Rockefeller Center and St Patrick's Cathedral which we were able to walk to within 10-15 minutes. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff was very attentive, and the room was clean and kept clean. Lots going on in the hotel. The concierge was terrific and sent us to the types of restaurants we sought. Excellent location too. Three issues: (1) The bathroom was rather small with little shelve space for two persons. (2) The thermostat was near the window, so it was colder than the rest of the room. We could not adjust the temperature in the room. (3) Not enough electrical outlets for charging computer and devices.

Yet the guest room product, albeit it comprised of rooms with new large flat screen televisions, 9" mattresses, outstanding bedding, and newish carpet, does indeed reflect its heritage. A great hotel, the people are very nice. The room was big, the bed was comfortable and the sheets were very nice. It is pricey, but you have to do the Sunday brunch.

This was a wonderful Hotel with great history and old fashion luxury. This is definitely the best Hotel in Park avenue. It also offers the best Sunday brunch with lobster tails, shrimp, salmon etc... This Hotel is also located close to a lot of great attractions and stores. I will highly recommend staying here for a wonderful experience !!

The hotel is well located and beautiful on the inside, but the service was not up to my expectations. 1) We spent 2 evenings having a drink and dessert in the Peacock Alley Restaurant/Bar. The food/drinks were very expensive and the service was non existent. It took forever to get waited on, served and to get our check. 2) The toliet was on constantly running in our room until I notified the housekeeping staff. Drapes in the room were partially falling. My daughter's room had dirt on the sheets after it had been cleaned. (They didn't say anything until after we left or I would have called to have that addressed.) The housekeeping staff did address any items quickly once notified which I appreciated, but I just expected a higher level of service and attention to detail from this hotel.

we were very disappointed as the rooms specially the bathrooms had a very musty smell to it and we could not believe that hey charge $20.00 per day for WFI. One would expect with that kind of pricing it would be included .It will not be a f a choice next time.

It was a bucket list check off to stay at the historic Waldorf Astoria. Our stay met all expectations. The staff was very friendly and not stuffy at all. The historic display is a must see while there. Piano player at the Peacock Thursday night was delightful.

We had a nice stay but the room was so hot!! It was a super cold night in the city. We were able to crack the window and fortunately it was a relatively quiet night on the streets. It's an older hotel that could stand for some updates.

Booked a suite for a family outing in NYC, and had a horrible stay. There was no hot water. We brought our infant and our 2 year old. There was no hot water to heat bottles, so we called down for a kettle which was delivered 2 hours later. The staff was unfriendly and nowhere to be found when parking or moving luggage. Worst part of all, our 2 year old found a pill on the floor of our room the night we checked in. Luckily she didn't put in in her mouth.

I booked a two night stay. One night was paid directly through hotels.com. The other night was to be paid directly to the hotel. Turns out the hotel nearly triple charge me for one night and I'm now in the middle of trying to get that money back. A little irritating.
