it was my daughter 19th birthday. we stayed in a very nice room with extra room for sitting area. exccelent location, very professional and welcoming staff, We enjoyed next morning breakfast . will definitely stay againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was nice, yet the bathroom tub had some debris within. The location was super. Good experience. My family really enjoyed themselves.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't expect new, expect old-style class!"
We arrived a couple hours early and were greeted by a very friendly hotel clerk who found us a suite that was ready so we wouldn't have to wait until the 3:00 check-in time. The suite was huge and beautifully decorated. Our calls to the front desk (extra bedding, TV issue) were handled quickly and very professionally. Breakfast at Oscar's was awesome, […] as was the entire staff. Everything at the Waldorf is expensive, but, hey, you're at the Waldorf Astoria in the middle of Manhattan. "Great old grand hotel in midtown."
The Waldorf is a great example of a Grand Hotel in Midtown. Walking distance to many midtown attractions, Time Square, Rockefeller Center, St. Patricks, Radio City Music Hall, Museum of Modern Art, Grand Central Station, and Central Park South. Wear your walking shoes! Also close to subway lines.Genuine Expedia guest review
The elevator noise did not let us sleep comfortably. Wonderful location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel that was close to many attractions."
Great hotel. Awesome places to eat and shop near this hotel. Great family trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
I love this hotel. It's classic and elegant. The room was very spacious compared to other NYC hotels. If you like new hotels, you probably won't like this one.Genuine Expedia guest review
Enjoyed our stay in New York. The room did smell like smoke but housekeeping was nice and sprayed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Loved, loved, LOVED staying at the Waldorf Astoria! Perfect in every way--service, location, wonderful place. Comfortable room. Peaceful home in the midst of the bustling city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"surprisingly lacking in amenities"
Hotel room was clean and small. The Waldorf is a well known, 5- star hotel in NYC that has great service but few amenities for people choosing the lower end (399/nt) rooms. No coffee unless room service (35.00/one pot of coffee) so we walked across the street to starbucks every morning. No free internet. We paid 18.95 for one day of service which was […] so slow that we reverted to our phones to finish our research. They did refund this charge at check-out when we mentioned it. Staff was very nice but we got the feeling we were definitely lower class citizens in the hotel. At check-in the staff member (who was new) mentioned "our level of reservation" didn't allow for the cleaning staff to get our room ready any faster. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Can't go wrong with the Waldorf!"
This is a wonderful hotel! We stayed for one night (my husband and 2 children) after a Knicks game, and were more than happy with our stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful; our room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was extremely large (by NYC standards), and there was a very large closet to store our belongings. Hotel staff was courteous […] and prompt. Price was very reasonable for midtown Manhattan! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Each morning around 9, had a cleaning lady walk in while I was in bed. Elevator worked 75% of the time. Locked out of my room once in 48 hours too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good but not outstanding"
They moved my room because of the clatter of pipes the first night. When I checked out they had only 2 people working the desk (late morning) and a huge line. I was promised that a copy of my bill would be emailed and I gave two different addresses to ensure it reached me...I am still waiting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Totally has gone down hill. But still priceyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Could do better...."
Overall we were quite disappointed in the hotel. All the public areas are breathtaking but the actual hotel itself has a lot to be desired. Superior Double Bed rooms (we had 3) each had one chair - suspect in most cases there is at least 2 people in this kind of room. Showers need to be repaired, no coffee/kettle in the rooms, no pool available unless […] paying for spa treatments. Good location but having been in NYC a few times before could have done much better for the cost. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Like staying at Grandma's House"
The suite was very outdated and the fake fireplace was a bit cheezy .. That being said, the beds were comfortable and once you got past the peeling wallpaper and old dusty sofas it really was okay. The staff do go out of their way to help. I guess I had expected more from a suite at The Waldorf Astoria.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice looking but poor customer service"
The hotel itself is very nice, the bedroom was clean. However, the bed was hard. At the end of the night we wanted to watch a little TV but the remote wouldn't turn the channels so we called the front desk and told them. They said they would bring up a new remote, 15 min later no remote, 30 minutes later no remote and again 45 minutes later. I called […] and told the front desk to forget the remote and went to sleep and about 2 hours later they ring the buzzer on the door, waking me up an leaving the remote. Poor customer service in my opinion. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Restaurant staff reviews"
Stayed here for our Anniversary with 2 other couples. Had our recording artists friends meet us at the hotel lounge. Was told to GET UP & Leave if we weren't all going to have a cocktail. Though most had already ordered. Spoke to management. Was moved to Bull & Bear lounge was told we'd have private table to enjoy only to have waiter Throw his hands […] in the air complaining of breaking down tables for us and we weren't drinking enough? He refused to serve us. Rude is the only description I can give. Embarresssd and Will Not Be Back. We spent nearly $700.00 on food alone in 2 days at this Hotel not including room stay etc and were treated poorly today the least. Total disappointment... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and charm -needs maintenance"
Our stay was overall fairly pleasant but the manager promised a newly renovated room per our request (we had read some bad reviews on line). We had a great room location and size was decent, but the furniture was ripped and it was clear the room was not updated. Although overall it was ok and we really appreciated the location and overall history of […] the hotel - for the price we paid it was not worth the money. the restaurants were overpriced as well - we paid $150 for breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids! "A lovely hotel with a terrific staff!!"
Although the Waldorf is an older hotel I have to say it is a very enjoyable place to stay...especially because of the staff. They are excellent in every way! Also the location of the hotel is great. I will definitely return and I would recommend it to anyone.Genuine Expedia guest review
"always the best"
love the Waldorf....best bang for the buck!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were amazed at this hotel. We expected it to be nice, it is the Waldorf Astoria, but it far exceeded our expectations. The staff was amazing. We arrived early in the morning and needed to have our bags stored for us. The staff member was so helpful. He told us about the area of NY he had grown up in and all the wonderful things to do there. He was […] great about giving us directions to all of the places we wanted to see. He also offered us hotel umbrellas because of the rain. The hotel texted us as soon as our room was ready. It was ready much earlier than the expected check-in time. Our room was great and we loved all of the little things the hotel did to make us feel welcome. When our bags were brought to our room, the bellhop gave us information about the hotel and let us know who to call if we needed anything. The building is old but very well preserved and definitely has that old world charm which we just loved. My only warning is that on Saturday night everyone tends to be very dressed up in the lobby getting ready to go out for the evening. We did feel a little out of placeas we arrived back at the hotel with our jeans and sneakers and wet umbrellas. The other nights didnt have this happening. Now we know to dress up to go enjoy an evening on the town next time. I will make this the hotel I stay in when ever I return to NY. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location;questionable room heating controls"
Loved the location; we walked to everything we wanted to see. We had a suite which was really spacious; almost too much so. Room heating controls didn't seem to work and it was quite cool in the rooms. Would stay again , though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"NY girls' weekend"
Went with my sisters for a race . We stayed here one night. Overall , the hotel is pretty and the room was clean. But we were dissapointed as we were expecting a much luxurious hotel(especially for what we paid) . You see the movies and hear the stories and it turns out is just a nice hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location, Location, Location. . . And more."
If there is such a thing as solace and serenity in midtown it's here. Centrally located but far enough from all the congestion of Times Square the historic, iconic Waldorf really served my needs well. It's not just a name, or a lobby, to me it was the full experience. Walking into the lobby, being greeted by white gloved bell hops really made me feel […] like "I have arrived". The room, if a little rough around the edges and on the smaller side was extremely clean and well appointed with really nice historic Art Deco touches and architectural details that you just don't see in a modern hotel. Which is to say, they just don't build them that way anymore. You are after all, staying in a functioning art gallery and museum staffed by folks who seem to be truly proud of the fact that they work at one of the great hotels of the world. "This was the most amazing stay."
This was the most amazing stay! I traveled with my mother, sister, and niece. Check in was great The staff treated us as if we were royalty. The room was cleaned everyday to perfection, and every want and need was provided. We ate in the bar area twice and it was terrific!Genuine Expedia guest review
It is a beautiful hotel especially the public spaces. The room we had was fine. It was spacious with nice furniture. The marble bathroom was elegant however, without a tub. The bed was extremely comfy. I slept for 7 hours without waking up even once which was unusual for me for the last month. We did not eat in the restaurants on site due to the price […] seemed to be at least twice more then other nice restaurants. Overall, Waldorf Astoria is still an outstanding hotel. "Overall nice hotel in a great location in NYC"
The hotel room was fabulous. A corner room with 3 windows. Very large by NYC standards. We had "cool" showers each day and the toilet got clogged but I know NYC is known for plumbing issues. the only other issue with the room is that it was warm in the room at night and the thermostat could not be turned down below 65 degrees. While the front desk and […] housekeeping staff were very nice and accommodating, I was surprised that there was not more "service", given the hotel's name. For example, when we arrived by car, the bellman opened my door but then walked away to the street. It appeared he was hailing a cab for someone. We had 3 bags in the trunk and he did not offer to help with them. Our driver had to get them out and we had to carry them up the steps to the main lobby ourselves (I am a middle aged woman and I had two teen girls with me). Once we checked in, we were not clear where our elevators were so I asked an elderly man working in the lobby and he shushed me. That surprised me. I was not talking loud, just a normal voice, and he actually talked much louder than I did. Overall, the stay was pleasing and comfortable but I was not as satisfied as I expected. "Great Hotel and Location"
The hotel is great, but lacks some small infrastructure items, one thing that stands out is that the Internet Service is all paid for, no guest complimentary internet access, unless you are in the lobby. Usually in hotels of this nature Internet is free for guests. Otherwise it was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, lots of history, close to everything."
Check-in went smoothly, room was VERY comfortable and we had a nice view. The staff was friendly and helpful. One of the lights in the room was not working. We called to report it and within 10 minutes someone was there to fix the problem. We plan on returning to NY again and when we do, we will definitely stay at the Waldorf.Genuine Expedia guest review
While the WA lobby has the old world class and charm of NYC, it is definitely in need of a refresh. The halls carpets are dingy and the woodwork chipped. The same with the sleeping room. The only plugs for cell phones, mobile devices are under the desk. But the worse part of the whole stay was the wait for hot water for my morning shower.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Nice, Historic Hotel"
My stay here was pleasant. I did think the room would be bigger and the bed looked smaller than a king size. Wi-Fi is available in the lobby for free. You have to pay an additional $18 a day if you want to use it in your room. I did like the complimentary robes to use during my stay(I forgot mine). The shower in the bathroom tried to drown me, I'm guessing […] the shower head probably needs to be cleaned as the water spurted out in all directions. There is a minibar in the room which I didn't touch as I knew it was probably expensive. Though the room did have the HBO channel, there weren't any other premium channels (i.e. Food Network, A&E, Discovery channel, SyFy). I really liked the restrooms in the lobby area of the hotel. Each stall had its own individual sink and outlet (to charge your phone or flat iron to give your hair a touch up!) The location of the hotel is great also as it is within walking distance of Rockefeller Center, theatre district, restaurants, and my favorite, shopping! I would probably stay here again. "Stay at Waldorf Astoria"
The building is too old and drab and it shows There is no HD channels on TV eventhough you are in NYC the media capital virtually yards away! The Toilets dont flush Hot water shower is weak The painting on the doorsand the wood is chipping away and the carpets are too old I will stay away from this hotel as it is too expensive and you could stay in […] motel6 and save some money. on the positive side it is right inthe center of NYC and easy to do shopping. Nostalgic values, old ambient. Pricey. Suggest just visit the lobby and its gift shop and spend money on others rather than stay at WA. Overall just can tell others, we've stayed there onceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel on Park avenue"
The hotel was really clean. The staff was really great. I would definitely come back to stay at the Waldorf Astoria. The distance to Broadway was only like 7 blocks away which if you wanted to see Rockefeller Center, it is on the way to Broadway.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Rooms need refreshing"
Perhaps I'm just chagrined that I wasn't upgraded to the Towers like on my last stay, but the rooms in the main hotel need to be refreshed....my bathroom sink was cracked, the desk's electrical outlets didn't function, and the carpeting was dusty (please shampoo !) a lovely hotel with a storied history but VERY pricey for what you get. A quick stay but thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are extremely efficient. The lobby and common areas of the hotel are not to be missed. My parents and I stayed in a large one bedroom suite. The space was amazing with a beautiful foyer, a separate huge dressing room leading to a gorgeous bathroom with a tub and a shower. My parents had the bedroom and I slept in the living room on a rollaway. While the cot was comfortable, the living room absorbed the noise from outside and the partying […] guests through the night and dawn.
