Stayed in the Executive level, which was convenient and nice to have continental breakfast and a beautiful large lounge with views in 2 directions. However, the lounge got very busy during breakfast and hors d'oevres hours. Their cash bar served a very cheap bottle of wine ($7 a bottle) for $12 a glass. Hotel has a great location, but it's very busy inside. Elevators are very busy. They really need to get rid of the Hilton Club desk - the men there shout at you every time you walk by to get your "free gift" and look at timeshares or whatever. Incredibly tacky!

Though we live close this was our first stay over in NYC. Although it wasn’t clearly marked the Parking garage 100ft down the left side of the Hotel was convenient with valet parking and a door right to the lobby. We sprang for the Executive level which got us to the 40th floor with breakfast. The room was alright. Full beds instead of 2 queens was a little tight and no flat TV didn’t kill me. The View was neat even if it was just of surrounding buildings for the kids. My niece works in the Rock and we had a sky view seat to the Christmas tree lighting. But arriving back at 11:00pm looking for some room service, we were told it would be an hour and 20 minute wait. That was ridiculous so I had to stroll out to a local pizza shop. When we finally got to bed I tried to turn down the thermostat and got no response. 73 felt way to warm to sleep so I had to open the windows and got a bit of street noise all night, but the beds were top notch comfortable! And the Hotel itself was very quite. In fact I thought we were the only ones on the floor until the next morning when I saw all the complimentary newspapers at the doors. All in all nice, but bring food and a fan.

Great location, but room view was not a city view as expected, it overlooked a roof. Upon check-in, we made sure they knew we needed a roll-away, but it was not in the room as expected, when we returned that night, late. We had also booked a supposedly big enough for a roll-away, but it was extremely crowed with it in the room. They were very busy and crowded, not overly personal at check-in or in the bar/ restaurant areas. Personal service does and should matter, even in NYC.

This was our second stay at the Hilton; we'd had a great experience on our last visit (good size room on the 20th floor, quiet, comfortable and clean). This time around, we were on the 5th floor, it was as though all the families were packed on that floor (noisy), the toilet bowl was cracked, the bathroom was ready for some major repairs (leaky faucet). I will say, however, that the beds are always comfortable at the Hilton and the bed linens are of high quality - it's a trade off.

I stayed at the Hilton for a conference which was being held there. For this reason, it was extremely convenient. Outside of this, I would never go back to this hotel. First, I was placed in a room directly next to the elevator shaft, which I heard all night long. There was "no other available room" to move to. The room was too warm, and the climate control did nothing to improve it. (Although we had the thermostat set to 64, the room progressively got warmer, until by the last night, it was 76 degrees). The shower curtain was dirty. Additionally, the hotel "nickel and dimed" us: $14/day for internet access (as if this were a precious commodity), $15/day for use of the gym (really? access to the gym isn't included???). No bathrobes. Basically, this was an overpriced motor inn.

I wanted something in midtown, but not crazy over populated where you are overwhelmed the minute you walk out of the lobby. The Hilton is the perfect location quaintly nestled between the hustle and bustle of Times Square and 5th Avenue- believe it or not, but it has more of a neighborhood type of feel and right near the heart of Central Park. Also the Hotel was so well contained one did not have to leave the premises to acquire many amenities such as food, beverage and shopping.....what more could a girl ask for!

If you are planning a trip to NYC, you would be foolish not to expect big prices virtually everywhere (exception: corner diners). While the NY Hilton was not The Plaza, it is a nice hotel in a terrific part of the city, which is what you want in a New York hotel. Only complaints: wireless internet cost $15 per day and the reception was awful; you can't even use the work-out room without forking over another $15 (that's pretty desperate); got charged $4 for an oreo snack pack from our room bar (again, desperate). Aside from the ideal location, our favorite detail was the Dunkin Donuts hal a block away!

It printed our receipt and keys right there and we went up to the room. The location and condition of the hotel was fantastic. My only complaint was that the air conditioning in the room didn't seem to work well. I woke up in the middle of the night and tried to crank it as low as possible, but it never seemed to cool down. The staff at the restaurant the next morning were extremely friendly and helpful. They made everyone feel very welcome and they truly seemed happy to help. The cost of the breakfast was expensive, but it was great (and it's NYC... everything is expensive!) Great location, but this hotel is lacking in hospitality. Self-check-in works fine and gets around the check in line at the counter. That's a plus. TV in the elevator is a big minus. Our room was small (not unexpected) but comfortable. The bath/shower fixtures were broken, but managed to get them to operate after some fussing. Walking across the lobby was an exercise in avoiding the Hilton sales staff trying to get us into their time share. The restaurant breakfast buffet should be avoided.

However, we were too close to the banquet room where apparently a party went on late into the night (loud bass). The maid walked in on me and I didn't hear a knock.
