"Midtown hotel is pricy"
There's not really anywhere to eat in the hotel and the one spot to grab food was crazy expensive. The hallways leading to the room were pretty scuffed on the walls, but the room was clean and very nice, albeit smaller than expected.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Rooms, Elevators Need Improvement"
I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton; the rooms have been remodeled and are beautiful. The only thing I could say needs improving is the elevator service. Room was nice. Shower was dirty w hair. We went to see billy Joel. We can back around 11pm. There was no place to grab a bite to eat. Just a take out stand. We asked concierge where we could go. She told us 1 block over and 3 blocks up! That was disappointing. The room had a few issues when we checked-in but they resolved them promptly without disturbance. The Executive Floor is the best deal going. "Great Stay For a Great Price"
The room wasn't ready early but there were plenty of places to eat or just to sit and relax within the hotel. Only one complaint and that was the cleaning lady banging on my door at 9am. Up to NYC for an overnight holiday shopping trip. Hotel was OK, not horrible but not great either. The room was small, as expected in NY but actually very oddly laid out which had my husband and I tripping over each other. Bathroom was tiny -- this would not work for big or tall people! I would not recommend this place to anyone who does not want to sweat in their room during their stay. I normally enjoy staying at Hilton hotels, but this is the first time I stayed in one with no air conditioning in the room & when I called the help desk to inquire why our thermostat was not working I was rudely told like I was some sort of idiot that […] if I was hot I should open a window. "Carded at the hotel entrance"
The hotel is ok. I had a terrible experience on my ladt night at the Hilton Midtown Manhattan - went to the drugstore with my kid to buy medication and upon my return there was a man standing near the entrance door and he said something to me I couldn't quite understand. He spoke louder and very rudely indicated we needded to show him a room card - […] with dismay I noticed I'd forgotten mine in the room and told him I was just going to get a copy at the front desk. He then demanded my daughter and I to step aside and not move. He then radio'd the front desk and in a very broken English could barely pronounce my name. He finally got the clearance and grudgingly released us. I told him I'd reporting his bad behavior to management and he responded: "yes, you go do that" Never ever had in my life been asked for a room card upon crossing the entrance door of a hotel. Great location, just minutes from Rockefeller Center and one block away from Radio Music City Hall. When we checked in our room was not ready. We found a maid in our room instead of a vacant suit. Our stay was pleasant but the beds are double instead of Queen it's a little tight when you share a bed. My friends were from Europe and took their Sims cards out of their cell phones. I was kind of skeptical of using Hotels.com because of the reduced rate and last minute reservation (we made the reservation the day before) but all went well. The hotel was easy to find with onsite parking garage. The staff was great. We had no problems requesting extra towels and sheets for the sleep sofa. We wanted a place close to Rockefeller as well as the Museum of Modern Art. We got the Executive floor and it was worth the money. The view was very nice. Despite some of the negative comments and reviews we were hesitant in staying here. We like trying out different hotels and locations based on what we have planned and thought we would try it out. We arrived around 11 am due to an early flight and were offered another room since ours was not ready and check in time was 3pm. We were very happy with the […] central location and clean room. We don't require daily housekeeping so we usually put out the do not disturb sign. Upon returning to our room late in the afternoon we had a message waiting telling us that housekeeping had been to our door but did not enter and if we needed anything to call. That was nice. One of the elevators to our floor was out service during our stay. Other then the wait for an elevator to get down in the mornings the overall stay was great. I just stayed at your Shanghai and Tokyo facilities and they were wonderful however after being loyal for 6 years and staying at your properties all over the world, I've realized that I am not seen as a valuable guest as I never receive anything during my stays (not that I expect anything but the ROI for Hilton would only make sense but that is just my opinion) to make me feel any different although I'm e-mailed weekly regarding my "Hilton Honors" status.
