Rooms did NOT have coffee makers in them if you wanted a cup of coffee in the morning you had to get dressed and go to the lobby and purchase an overpriced cup of coffee. "Service and cleanliness lacking"
After waiting in line to check in for more than 45 minutes late on Saturday night with 3 young children in tow (long line and only one person working desk) we got to our very spacious room and pulled out the sofa bed to find it soiled with food stains and crumbs. There was no extra bedding or pillows. We just needed to get our kids to bed! The housekeeping […] manager was unconcerned although our housekeeper did her best to correct the problem. Only redeeming factor was that the general manager discounted our rate for the night. The phone in my room did not wok and the repairman insisted that it did. I could not make or receive calls which is very dangerous. This is a great location except for the fact that the windows are not soundproof and the noise from the street (I was on the 22nd floor) kept us up all night. The tissues were so cheap that they were like using sandpaper, and the shampoo was enough for half a wash. We had booked a room with 2 beds and we checked in on 5/25/14. We were given room 3219. When we went up to the room and opened the door we found there were personal belongings inside the room. We immediately closed the door and called the front desk from the phone located in the elevator lobby. Our 19 month-old baby was crying at the time because he […] was exhausted. We were told to come down to get another key for a different room. I went down and was told by a second agent that because it was late, the only room available was located on the 10th floor. I then found the first agent I had dealt with and told him about what had happened and that I was not happy because we were given a room that had another guest’s belongings in it. I wouldn’t want other guest to be given keys to my room. The agent then found a room on the 40th floor. We went up and found the room only had 1 bed, which was not what we had booked, as we had booked a room with 2 beds. I called the front desk and was told that we will be given another room on the 32nd floor but we had to take a separate elevator to same. In sum, we had to go up and down 3 times with a crying infant and we were not happy at all. When we were going to check out the next morning we were going to report this incident but the line was very long with only two agents working and we found this to be very inconvenience for a 4 star hotel, and again, we were traveling with a 19-month old baby. First time to NY. Do not think I could have picked a better hotel to stay as far as location and room. My wife and I traced with 3 kids, 22, 12 and 11. Hard to find a single room that can accommodate but Hilton did. Room consisted of 2 separate rooms, one with 2 queen beds, TV and walk in closet, other had a bar and fridge with stools, chair, sectional […] with chaise and fold out double. Easily slept us all, very comfortable. Location is easy walking distance to Central Park and Times Square. Shuttle bus locations were only block or two away to get to anywhere you like to go.
