It took us nearly 3 1/2 hours to get checked in, the line at the front desk was just as long as a Disneyland line, except that it was not moving nearly as fast. Hotel was clearly understaffed, the personnel was rather rude and not courteous at all and did not even apologize for the delay. After we got checked in, not only did we not get a bedroom with a king bed (we do understand however that there are no guarantees), we ended up with a smoking room even though we requested non smoking. When i called the front desk, they said it was all the choice that we had and even we could not breathe easily in the room, they told us that we'd have to find a different hotel if we did not like the inconvenience. The fan for the heater/ac was LOUD, and nowadays, $13 per night for internet access ??? Being understaffed and having an off day is one thing, but not being able to make it right after wards is unacceptable. Not to mention that unlike other Vegas hotels, the parking garage was not connected to the hotel so it was a rather long walk from the parking to the hotel rooms. Avoid this hotel at all cost !

Hotel location is great in that it is on the tram and next to the convention center. It is off the strip - costs about $15 for a cab ride to the Venetian. The room was huge, comfortable and outdated. The temperature control was very hard to maintain at a comfortable level - I was either super hot or super cold. The bed was small - double sized, comfortable and suprisingly, it was a murphy bed that folded up into the wall. I think my room (830) was more of an entertainment room as it had a wet bar and a small dining room table. I had a very hard time finding the light switches in the room and never did figure out how to turn the dining table light on. The closet was a large, walk in closet. The amenities were crabtree and evelyn products which smelled like something my grandmother would wear. It was very quiet as rooms go, close to the elevators and had a view of the strip. I didn't hear anybody else when I was in my room.

Now granted, this hotel isn't the newest in Las Vegas, but still... Anyway, the room I got was right next to the elevators, which meant that all night long I could hear the elevators' ringing as they arrived at my floor, along with the "swooshing" sound from the elevator shaft...very annoying...made it hard to sleep. The curtains did not work (ie - they were stuck, wouldn't open). I had to stand on the desk and force the curtains to open...cut my finger when I did that even...anyway...overall, the room was clean, but outdated. Aside from the noises from the elevators, my overall stay was OK/so-so only. I probably won't be staying at the same hotel the next time I visit Vegas.

First off, I only give 4's even for the best. This hotel was perfect, except for one thing. Take the ashtrays off of the no smoking floors. These people seem to think it means no smoking in their rooms and only smoke in the halls. Not the hotel's fault, inconsiderate people. Other than that, best hotel on the strip. Away from the center and noise and on the monorail for easy access. Use the monorail and not the bus. You can walk faster than the bus.

An excellent value. We were exhibiting at the Convention Center for a week and the hotel was an easy walk. Hotel staff was very professional and polite. About the only complaint I have is the AC in my room was bit uneven, and I did not like their aerating shower heads, would have preferred a traditional or adjustable shower head.

Situated across the street from the North side of the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Hilton is a great option. I suggest dining and (if you're into that) gambling at other locations as both the venues, the menus, and the patrons seem to be in a sorry state. But the rooms are well maintained, clean, and the beds are very comfortable. The concierge level is affordable and hence generally pretty crowded. The continental breakfast includes hot and cold cereal and fresh fruit, however. So it should serve you well if you're attending a convention all day. The hotel is on the monorail line, so very convenient to major casinos on the strip without having to wait/pay for cabs. Recommended.

The staff is wonderful and the hotel rooms are beautiful with nice comfy beds and a nice big flat screen TV HOWEVER the wall transmit sound like they're made of wallpaper over framing studs. I was in room Room 1179 (an "upgrade") - East Wing: My neighbors, across the room from the head of my bed (25 feet away from my head) literally drowned out my TV talking in a normal tone of voice. They were NOT exceptionally loud. I can tell you every word they said like they were standing next to me, and how many times the one with a cold sneezed, coughed and blew her nose. They came in from a night on the town at 3am and the clicking of their heels on the tile entry to their room woke me up like someone walking into my room. Then I got to hear a complete replay of the evening events. I've stayed at most of the hotels on the Strip and near Strip and NEVER had this problem! My advice - stay somewhere else if you want to get some sleep!
