Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.

We stayed at the Rainbow Tower-top floor, with two balconies. Extraordinary view of Waikiki beach and Diamond Head. Lots of activities including the free Luau . Friday night fireworks was a blast, was able to see the whole thing from our balcony. BEAWARE: Can get noisy during the evenings due to the various activities so keep that in mind if you are looking to sleep earlier than 11pm. Starbucks-Pricey Restaurants on site: Resort Price If looking to save some money, please exit the resort, go to mall etc 15min walk/free shopping shuttle, they do have a food court-A little CHEAPER All-in all I might make this a Birthday tradition, same place and can get the same room...

The Hotel itself and the surrounds was very nice and beautiful, but the room we got was not up to my standards. Everything was so old. My room didn't even have a coffee maker for morning coffee... We were in the Diamond Head Tower. It needs serious updating. Everything was so compact. The towels had a dingy smell to it. I had to call down for some fresh towels. It was a lot more busy and crowded. Not very relaxing or accessible to the facilities.

Way too expensive for what you got..there are other restraunts across the street for a lot better value, the other meals were ok considering where you were..also parking was high there too...but great hotel and would go back again...

This was our first visit to the Hawaiian Islands. We chose Hilton because of previous experiences with the chain. This Resort was absolutely enjoyable, we spent a lot of time touring the island but also loved coming home to the resort and sitting on our balcony watching the ocean views from our room. There is a lot of walking involved and it is described as a Village resort, so plan by putting on your walking shoes when enjoying this expansive village. The 90 shops let us browse and buy at ease, no pressure. We ate at the 4 Diamond restaurant, "The Bali" and what a delicious meal and exquisite service, plus that fantastic view of the ocean. We stayed for 7 nights which included the hotel's luau. It was an evening of entertainment and wonderful buffet style food. Friday night the resort puts on a very nice fireworks display over the ocean, we sat on our balcony and saw every sparkle. Living in Arizona we are use to low humidity, so it did take us a day or two to get a custom to feeling damp, but not uncomfortable with temps in the high 80s. We will return and next time bring our children and grandchildren with us.

We have stayed at a lot of hotels, anywhere from 3-5 stars. This was great in terms of facilities - pools, beach, lagoon were all fantastic, as were the rooms and shops. Service was so-so to pretty good overall. However, the prices at the restaurants rivaled The Four Seasons, which we stayed at on Maui. I can tell you, the food was not Four Seasons' quality. Do yourselves a favor and walk down the beach to the other great hotels - you will get much better food at prices that are far less. Or, if your budget allows, eat the the Halekulani or Royal Hawaiian - the same prices for food that is far superior. Skip the room service - the fees are astronomical even by island hotel standards! Go to the coffee shop up the street and get take-out instead. Also skip the $80 fee for 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella at the beach - walk down the beach 100 yards and rent them from the lovely stand in front of the next hotel - less than half price and much better service.

When we checked in we were told that the hotel had been sold out since the new Paradise Pool opened in Feb 09. It was definitely crowded everywhere we went. The new pool definitely was a hit with our kids but it needs more lounge chairs. Arriving anytime after 10a you won't find an empty chair. Too bad the parking isn't included in the rate. We enjoyed the Friday night fireworks that the hotel has. The tower we were in was the most recently renovated so the rooms were nicely appointed and we had a view of the ocean from our lanai. The beds were a little soft but that's our only complaint.

We really enjoyed the week we spent here at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. They put us in the Ali'i Tower, which was lovely and had a private pool and happy hour free appetizers. The hotel is generally well run and it was great for my little boy. He enjoyed his Keiki club outing. When we returned after some island hopping for our last night in Hawaii, we found that they'd overbooked the rooms and they put us a very rundown Diamond Head apartment. It was depressingly unmaintained, with a small room a.c. in the one bedroom but nothing to cool the living room where my little boy was to sleep. There was no screen on the door and no ceiling fan, and the street the window overlooked was a busy one. So we had fumes and noise coming in as well as some bugs. Not what we'd paid for, but we met some other guests who were also signed up for just one or two nights who were treated similarly. If they try to give you a Diamond Head apartment as a treat, say no and have them get you a room at another hotel immediately. They tend to overbook too much here.

The hotel is awesome. Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. The hotel itself if well kept and beautiful. The walk on the beach to the main area of Waikiki is 20 minutes. Resort has a market area with shops and restaurants and there we find the catch. The food is all expensive and nothing amazingly good; just ok. Avoid eating on property; you won't miss much and there are far better eats elsewhere for a much more reasonable price. Also avoid room service, they hike up already high prices. Just walk along the beach and keep an open mind. Those small plate dinner places can often surpass the food at the hotel.

Overall, friendly staff. Very nice that it is so large. However, we had a room in the Rainbow Tower, ocean front/ocean view. Room was not cheap, and there was still moldy tile in the bathroom. Felt very much like a Best Western in the room. Towels were rough. Things were in somewhat of disrepair. Not what the picture shows. And we were on the 30th floor ocean front. That should be just about the best they have. Makes you wonder. Great for families with little kids. If your kids are older, which mine are, they will get bored staying here and prefer to venture out, which is a bit of jaunt anywhere you go. A nicer hotel farther up the beach would be better.

All I have to say about this place is..Location Location Location.... Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa is located bit away from the main Waikiki beach but close enough to walk to. Also there were bus routes near by that took us all over th place such as Diamond head crater, Hanauma bay, and sealife park. Also it is a popular location for local tour company (like Island hopping and Polynesian Cultural center) So we litarally got picked up from our lobby to our destination. They had live music playing evey night (good selection of music as well, not just Hawaiian folk songs), and firworks by the beach on friday evening. I believe it was well worth the cost and will stay here again.
