the renovated rooms are nice, staff could be friendlier especially the room cleaning crew as they were pretty rude. Grounds were a little dirty saw a used condom and it took hotel a few days to clean it. ill give them a little leeway as they are in the process of renovating rooms.

I arrived and they could not find reservation. Took over an hour just to check in. (New girl, second day...only one there?) Bragged about new rooms with flat screen televisions, etc. But...then checked us in old, run down room. holes on wall...etc. It was clean, don't get me wrong. I was expecting a nicer room. I liked the queen bed and pull out bed and chair with fireplace, but the carpet was really dirty, and there was no rug at front door so all the salt and dirt was dragged into the room. Room was cleaned promptly next day, but wallpaper was coming off walls. The cosmetic appearance was cheap and looked very very worn.

For some reason, I was given a "handicap accessible" suite. That meant that there was no bathtub, and the water from the shower went everywhere in the bathroom - and there were no towels, which I only discovered once I got out of the shower, soaking wet. It was a great experience. The staff was great and always friendly. It was a nice surprise to get dinner included Monday thru Wednesday. Breakfast was good but it usually was cold, however there was a microwave that you good remedy this. I would recommend this hotel.

I should have stayed in my car. The hotel room smelled, the hotwater ran out twice. the room was cold, the TV was snowy. The water tasted bad. Overall I will not stay in another Hawthorn Suites.

The room needs updated; carpet was dirty and worn. All entrances are from the outside and the cluster of buildings away from the office where the rooms are located made me feel unsafe leaving the room at night. I WILL NOT STAY THERE AGAIN!

Absolutely awful! The staff was arrogant, the room was dirty and worst of all, it snowed the evening before my check out. At 9am, the sidewalks were still not shoveled and I had to get to my car in 4" of snow, ruining a new pair of $250 shoes. I went to the front desk and asked for a shovel so I could clear the sidewalks for myself and outher guests. […] Rather than apologize for the inconvenience,the person at the front desk actually went looking for a shovel for me!!!!!! Totally impressed with the rooms and extras. Two floors, two separate bedrooms and bathrooms so lots of privacy. Nice kitchen and even a living room with a fireplace. Breakfast and dinner were included in the price! They were remodeling other rooms. The dishwasher leaked and had to request coffee and towels the second day we were there.

My family stayed here over Thanksgiving week. I reserved a room with two queen beds...we got a room with one queen and a sofabed. Not sure if that's on Expedia or the hotel, but it was irritating. No options to move to a different room, because they are renovating many of the rooms and it was, again, Thanksgiving week. Breakfast was hit-or-miss, depending […] on who cooked it. I always stay at Gatehouse Suites when I'm in the Detroit area. It's very clean and comfortable; the bed linens and pillows are nice; and the towels are thick. The room could've used some upgrading/remodeling. Bathroom floor was noticably pieced together with a full 6-8" piece missing. As this was a suite it had a closet for mechanical needs which was quite dirty and looked to have never been cleaned. The listing states queen size bed, its a full size bed. This hotel needs updates. Guests should also know that many families live in this complex on a full time basis. The school bus comes through the parking lot to pick up and drop off children.
