The first night we stayed we asked for a non smoking room but they have us a smoking one. Woke up with a headache the next morning. Breakfast area was small but was not too bad. The second night we were givin a non smoking room which was good. But the tv did not work. We had to switch rooms twice to get a working tv. "Austin La Quinta.."
this hotel from minute one was just awful. staff at the counter was rude, first thing, room was clean but old. needed an update. TV /Cable did not work for the first 4 days...i brought this up daily to management. after 4 days, i was barely able to view 6 statiions, the digital distortion made watching tv frustrating. Ice machine was broken the entire […] week. my credit key needed to be reset daily at the front desk, agsin quite frustrating. all in all I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would never stay there again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not happy with cleanses of bathroom at all. Charged me 165. Couldn't really tell me why. Had to call my bank to get it released. Felt the motel should have done it rite away. Mentor hood was not great. Will not stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Avoid if possible"
Parking lot was packed. One bed had no pillowcases; the bathroom was a mess (looked like someone with muddy feet had been dancing around in there. Couldn't call front desk via phone and had to walk down. Couldn't get moved as there were no other rooms available. Later we found that the bathroom door didn't lock (or shut all the way) and that the coffee […] machine hadn't been cleaned. Worst experience I've ever had at a La Quinta. I choose this location because of distance from downtown and what's around it (soco, & other spots) though out Austin. PROS: cheap but not too cheap, Staff friendly and understanding, Security on site, roving patrol, Room well kept/clean....beds comfy, ONE WAY $5 shuttle to downtown, $5 per-person, ONE WAY $5 shuttle to the hotel, Drop off & pick up […] at (5th,Trinity st.), CONS: Limited parking, Needs more ice points, Couple more towels in the room Basically if you need a place to stay and don't want drive dwntwn. This is it ! No complaints at all, this a for party goers and NOT FOR LUXURY STAY. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quiet and Restful"
The room was really quiet and the AC kept me comfortably cool. The location is easy to find from Interstate 35. The room was a great value for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My favorite thing about this stay was hotel staff was very polite and the location of the hotel was perfect! We did have small issues with our toilet, was taking longer than normal to flush and showed low pressure, but hotel staff was advised and said would take care of it. Other than that, no real complaints about our stay...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Stayed overnight for an ACL event. The dead bolt would not work and the TV was also malfunctioning. The room was decent. A good deal for 99$.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was excellent. The only downfall was that the television wasn't working, but wifi did. Staff was great when we were checking in. We will definitely be staying again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wouldn't stay here again."
Guy at front desk very helpful. Had to change rooms as no parking on the side of the building where the room was . Didn't feel safe at night walking behind the building to get to our room. Tv in room couldn't keep a signal. Constantly going fuzzy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the money..."
For the price I paid for a friend and I to stay there it wasn't worth it! It ended up being quite a bit over $100 a night, the hotel was more like a $60-$70 a night hotel. The biggest issue I had was the service. We were in town for a sporting event and took cash for everything, when we got there the female working the front desk told us even if we […] paid cash in full up front they would still put a hold for the full amount of the stay on our credit card. I requested the manager and he told us that they just had to put a hold on the amount of 1 night. When we asked why the did it like that the clerk told us it was "because of renovations on the hotel", WHAT?! Overall the hotel was alright but the service absolutely sucked and the pictures advertised were nothing like the real thing!! My advice is to pick somewhere different if you can. The hotel was fine. One of the people in my party required a mini fridge for the room due to a medication that needs to be refrigerated, one of the desk clerks made a slight problem about that but in the end we ended up with one.The first day at the hotel our room didn't get cleaned, but the next day we asked for housekeeping service and it was done. The light in the bathtub room did not work. When I called the desk, I was told to turn the bulb...the buld was behind a cover and unavailable. So, we showered in the dark! Also, when I moved out the table to play games, the leg was broken. When I reported it, nothing was done. I did report it the next morning during checkout.Genuine Expedia guest review
Expedia and Hotels.com both showed me pictures of my room that varied greatly from the room I received. The room I saw supposedly had a roll out couch, two queen beds, a mini fridge, coffee maker, a large tub, and a microwave. Instead we received for a whopping $153 a night per room (which we had two of) two full size beds, no fridge, no microwave, […] a coffee maker with spiders in it, a shower tub made for children with very small towels, and no roll out couch. I trusted your sight because La Quitnta inns and suites are usually very nice: however, a motel 6 would have offered me more than they did (and that is not intended as a choice) .David Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Rooms smelled like smoke for being non smoking rooms. Staff was all over the place they couldn't all be on the same page or communicate well. Overall I wouldn't recommend or stay there again .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For the money this room cost, I expected more. Let me start by saying the staff was wonderful, they did what they could. But for this kind of money I expected a refrigerator and/or a microwave, but it had neither. A curved shower curtain bar is in almost every hotel I've stayed in over the past few years, but not here. And the worst thing, the TV didn't […] work. They tried and tried, and ended up moving us to another room, where it worked better, but still not great. "Alright, but not great"
The staff is nice and friendly. The common areas are clean and sufficient. The room was my only issue. The beds were soft, clean, and comfy, which is what I was looking for, but there was someone else's hair in the sink and soda stains in the sink as well. When I get a room, I expect it to be completely clean of other people's trash, hair, and debris […] and not kind-of-clean like someone just left, but didn't pick up after themselves. Cleanliness is friendliness and this La Quinta was subpar on being clean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The worst place to stay"
The last night I was there I arrived at 10:30 at night and found all of my belongings were gone. The office took all of them and could not find them until I became extremely irate and threatened to call the police. "Good value for the money"
The hotel rooms were clean but in need of some work (the sink didn't have a plug and the bath didn't even have a grate over the plug hole. There is virtuallt no sound proofing and my room was located near I35 so was pretty noisy all night long. The breakfast was reasonable with a decent enough range. The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful […] but I encountered one lady at reception who was fairly rude on the day of my check out. The night before I had asked a friendly night worker if it was okay to store my bag the following day as I still had 1/2 day conference to attend till mid afternoon and she said that would not be a problem. However the following day the new receptionist told me it was not usual to store bags and that she took no responsibility or liability for my bag if it was stolen and told me the lady from the night before should not have said it was okay to look after my bag. My bag was safe and sound when I returned and the people on the desk were friendly and helpful when I returned but the experience left me a little disappointed. The hotel is a good loction for s. congress avenue and great if you have a car to get to the downtown area. I walked back one night and the area was safe but approximately 2 1/2 miles from downtown. It is conveniently located for I35 access and has a reasonable public bus service close by. There are also several restraunts and food truck within 5 min walk,. "Worst price-value hotel experience"
Instead of one star, I would give the motel maybe two stars if the price we're cut by half. The dead roach in the bathroom, no cups but an ice bucket, loud stay up late neighbors, unpainted dirty looking exterior, and -943 era bathroom all contributed to the "experience".Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Decent hotel 2 miles from convention center"
The staff were very polite and helpful. The main lobby area lacked comfortable couch seating; only had tables & chairs for continental breakfast use. This seating area generally looks a bit dirty and dated. The breakfast itself was good. The room looked very nice, was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom area in the room looks a […] bit dirty. While I was grateful to have a room here and it was decent enough for the price, next time I'd make the effort to find something nicer and closer to the convention center. I tried to change my reservations. The front desk Secretary said I had to ask Expedia since I booked through them. I called Expedia and they ended up calling the Secretary. "Shabby, shabby, shabby"
The hotel room we stayed in was in pretty poor shape. The linens were not clean, nor was the floor or bath. I travel for work and this was one of the rare instances that I said to myself, wait until you get home to shower. It was dirty and there were even tiles and flooring missing. The shower curtain and bedding was dirty. I stayed on the weekend and […] boy were there some party goers that stayed there, too. The evening I was there, a drunk and profane couple yelled from 2:30 until 4:00 a.m. I booked here as it was close to downtown and SoCo, but would have stayed farther if I would have had cleanliness and peace to sleep through the night. This hotel was very reasonably priced in terms of allowing pets and location to downtown; however, the room cleanliness was below satisfactory. This hotel was in a great location, easy in and easy out. The room looked freshly updated and painted. Everything was clean and it felt comfortable. Yes, there was traffic noise, it's at the corner of a busy intersection and the freeway, it's to be expected, but that was easily solved with earplugs. I got my room through Expedia, so I'm guessing that […] if you book through the hotel, you can get a room on the inside and that should solve the traffic noise. "dirty, in poor repair and badly run"
the room was dirty. the shower was broken and the drain was blocked. there was no plug, so bathing wasn't an option. it took 3 days to get more than 3 towels for the room, when we have 4 people staying in it. all the ice machines were broken. the staff were unresponsive, and the front desk was often left unattended for up to 20mins at a time - which […] is very annoying given that the room keys kept cancelling themselves. when issues were reported, remediation was promised but never delivered - the drain remained blocked with hair for the duration of our stay. additionally, the pool was too filled with debris to use, and we were kept awake on 2 of the 3 nights by groups of drunk, foul mouthed people shouting outside our room at 2 or 3am. this went on for upward of 40min at a time, with no intervention by hotel staff. The room was smelly. There was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and the carpet is full of stains. Overall the room was dirty.
