The hotel was one of the more economical choices of those available. It is an older hotel and older style, but the location was very convenient. Right off Causeway with great access to all of the city and the rooms were very clean. New carpeting, comfortable beds, clean sheets, fresh paint. oom was fin for my purposes. Place a little older, but overall clean nd comfortable. Night staff was very friendly and accomodating (I arrived after midnight). Location not great if planning a longer stay but for a place to sleep, shower and get on the road it is fine.

We booked a non-smoking room and got smoking rooms. The area of town was scary. The up keep of the hotel was poor. There was some sort of bug crawling on the t.v. and dresser. The bathroom didn't work. Just bad. I changed room to the Crowne Plaza on Canal street for less money. I wouldn't stay nor would I recommend this LaQuinta.

Highlight was getting the NFL channel in my room. Very helpful staff. Only drawback- you are a good 20 minute drive outside of the city, and it is a 20 dollar cab ride into town. They do offer a shuttle contact though, that does this for only 10 dollars, but they are not always available.

The rooms were not clean at all. We checked in super late because our flight didn't get in until 11pm. We got there and there was a security guard that unlocked the door to the main office to let us in. (It didn't really make us feel safe). Overall, not a bad experience, but I wouldn't stay there again. Room was clean upon arrival although housekeeping service during stay was somewhat lacking. Staff was pleasant enough, but not especially friendly. The three main issues that would prevent me from recommending this hotel to a friend are the following: 1. There was a lot of cigarette smoke […] and butts in outdoor hallways and common areas 2. From a map, the location looks easily accessible, but in reality, it is a nightmare (this is described in much more depth in other reviews). 3. There was quite a bit of noise at night. The hotel needs some cosmectic work. The entrance area to check-in smells very strange, not plesant. The check-in desk should be upgraded or painted or cleaned. The room seemed to have been freshly painted which was a plus and also the new flat screen tv was an upgrade. The furniture should be upgraded. The carpet had stains but it was vacumed. The […] comforter was an improvement and I liked the way the bed was made but when I pulled the top sheet back I saw little black hairs on the fitted sheet. I requested that the sheets be changed. Housekeeping changed the sheets and comforter. This comforter wasn't as nice as the first one. The staff were friendly, courteous and professional. Loved this place. A simple night in the big city was all that I wanted. I was in town for a day of golf with my cousins. Not wanting to make the 2 hour drive back home, I checked into motel around 6PM. Lady at front desk was very sweet and friendly as I check ed in. Just a 12 to 15 min. run down I-10 and I was eating at one of my favorite restaurants on Canal Street. After a great meal it was back to the Motel to call it a night. Room was fairly quiet, but with it being a older motel building, I expected to hear a few bumps through the walls like at any other Motel stay that I have had over my lifetime. I found this hotel to be very quiet. It was full with tour buses and two different children's groups that I head about and there was never any noise from other rooms or running around outside. The lady at the front desk on my check in was very polite and helpful. I would stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is a little difficult to get to from the interstate because there is no direct path to it from Causeway Blvd once you exit I-10. I've been seeing commercials about La Quinta and it looks fabulous on TV. Well this La Quinta was nothing like you see on TV. This on par with Motel 6. There seems to be a big disparity with the quality of La Quinta's. Some are new and nice like you see on TV. Some are garbage. This was garbage.

But can be noisy depending on the clientele at the time. We had a fleet of dumptrucks staying there, and they were a bit noisy starting up in the morning. Not much the hotel can do about that. Really nice rooms for the money, very well appointed.

Nice hotel, easy to get to with a good location. We saved money by staying here vs. staying in the French Quarter which is more costly not counting the $30 a night parking. The beds were very comfortable and the shower had very hot water!

Overall our stay was nice. The only thing I did not like was the dogs someone brought along. I was not aware that this hotel allowed pets or I might not have booked, but then again I might have anyway because the location was great and it was not far from downtown at all and the price was good.

The hotel was perfect for my needs -- an excellent value for the price. The only minor problem was that there was an unusal cold weather snap in New Orleans and the heater in the room wasn't working properly, but once I notifed the staff, they took care of it right away.
