The room was OK, but the other guests sounded like they were out on their balconies and were loud all night long. The air conditioner under the window only worked on the "auto" setting, which meant that we couldn't get just the fan to stay on to at least help cover up the noise; we woke up every time the air turned on or shut off. I was there for business downtown, and it was fast and easy to get downtown without having to deal with the interstate. I have several more trips to Birmingham planned in the next few months, and I'll stay here for each one, no question. As soon as I got in the room and went to get ice in the bucket, I saw a roach crawling on the bathroom counter. When i went to the desk to change rooms the clerk gave me attitude because it had been 20 min on the computer since i checked into the room. He swore I had "used the room". I stayed at this hotel because it is close to where I need to be the next morning. I was hoping for a quiet evening rest so, the hotel staff located me where she said is quiet. But, there was a rail track at some distance away. I can hear the train from inside my room. Thank God I was still able to fall asleep after sometime.

The room I preferred was non smoking. That much was correct, the air conditioning was broken and not fixed. I found the last guests used comb and dirty q-tips by my bed. The manager of the hotel refused to give another towel, which I only had 3 for my 2 night stay, and had to go buy a towel & Washcloth. I DO NOT recommend this MOTEL to anyone.

Staff is very friendly. Rooms are not that good. Towels and linen very scratchy and have a strange smell. Carpet in first room was almost completely black with dirt and grease. Secind room was a little better. Air cindition is cool. Continental breakfast is cereal. Big clean pool. Laundry room available.

Just needed a place to stay after moving out of my apartment right before graduating from UAB. This was one of the cheapest. Not very glamorous from the outside and in a questionable part of town. But the room does come with a mini fridge and wi-fi.

I checked in at 2:30 a.m. with my son. I requested a late check out because we just completed a long drive to Birmingham. Needless to say, we went to bed right away. By 8 a.m. we were awakened to the sound of the train passing through on the nearby railroad which increased hour by hour. The neighborhood does not appear safe at all. The walls are very thin, I can hear housekeeping vacumning in the next room and bumping against my wall and moving their equipment down the walkway outside of my room! Needless to say I didn't need a late check out because I couldn't sleep in such a noisy hotel. Even though I asked in person to note my account for a late check out at noon, I was still called by the front desk at 11 a.m. to remind me its time to check out. Cleanliness was an issue. A couple of the bathroom towels had strands of hair embedded in the towels. Yuck! The ceiling vent in the bathroom was covered with a thick layer of dust. The fixtures in the shower were loose and rusted. The coffee maker located on the bathroom counter had dried spilled coffee behind it which tells me housekeeping is overall not thorough. I wore my sandals everytime my feet hit the floor. I expected more of a national chain like Days Inn. I SHOULD HAVE PAID ATTNETION TO THE REVIEWS ON THIS SITE! I won't be returning! Read more

Hotel is not in the best neighborhood. It could utilize more updating. We had to actually go down and request another room as we paid for a King bed but we were sent to a double bed. This was hassle enough since only 1 person is at the desk to assist you with this.

I went to Birmingham for a job interview and I wanted a hotel near the company I was interviewing for. Days Inn was the only hotel near the Industrial area. I know we get what we pay for, but I only paid for two guests...not any extras. This was in prsence of my 17 year old daughter and by a patron that was staying at the hotel. It seemed to be a place to run prostitution ring. DO NOT BOOK HERE. i booked 3 rooms and when we got there they had given 2 of them away. they had no cots or extra blankets or pillows. i had to sleep on pool chairs in the room. not concerned with helping me at all. the night manager was more concerned with going back to sleep than helping me. stay away from this place

So...my companion and I are just passing through from New Orleans to Nashvile and Birmingham was a pit stop. We had no interest in the city and just wanted to stay near the highway at a cheap and cheerful generic chain budget hotel. He tries again. It is unopenable. After much hassle, he finally gets a staff person to send someone to help him. They can't open it. Ridiculous. In the meantime, I notice that the carpeted floor is sticky and the toilet seat in need of being replaced (many years ago). Needless to say, I do not step into the shower. No fridge, no microwave and no food nearby. There are mosquitos in the room eating me. Not great beds either.
