I was staying with my girlfriend for a concert and security came knocking in my door twice to tell us to be quiet when it was just our tv on and I could hear everyone else in the floor partying.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Two Nights in Vancouver"
Was given a larger room than expected - nice surpriseGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Gas Town, China Town, Robson Street"
The hotel was on the "Hop-on, Hop-off" trolley and bus stop. The hotel was near the Amtrak station, but the Cantrail bus did not stop there as Expedia had said it would. The Cantrail bus did stop at the airport location of the Sandman.Genuine Expedia guest review
"an OK night"
The hotel was quite nice, inclusive of a restaurant. Unfortunately, we chose a night when multiple events were taking place, so it was very loud. We would've preferred a location closer to the park, and gastown - our mistake.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to the downtown"
This hotel is easy to find, close to the downtown. Front desk people were very friendly and professional. Room was very clean and overall, the hotel was well maintained. Our room had a nice view to the BC Place Stadium and nearby bay. King size bed was quite comfortable. It is within walking distance to Robson street, and Gastown was about 4 blocks […] away. Stanley Park and GranvilleIsland were easy reachable by public transportation or by car. Overall we had good time staying at this hotel while visiting Vancouver. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, safe hotel"
Good value for money-room was neat and clean. Older building, so dont expect 5 star room ammenities. Has very nice restaurant on property. Secure entry to rooms. Overall, pleasant stay - would recommend to others wanting to stay in heart of downtown Vancouver.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Walk-able distance to good shopping. Staff was helpful. Only complaint was a slow elevator. Other than that - Definitely a great hotel for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, just nothing special"
Room was small but nice. No breakfast offered.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was great, friendly service and perfect downtown location. Easy to walk everywhere it a quick taxi here and there to get to other attractions. On site restaurant was pricey, if I had know other food options were close I would have walked there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Affordable, well-located hotel. Nothing special. Wifi was unusable. Pleasant staff, decent room and amenities. Fine if you're looking for a bed within walking distance of downtown Vancouver, but don't expect too much.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in central Vancouver"
We had one day to see Vancouver after a cruise and wanted to stay downtown. Location was very convenient. Only a $6.30 cab fare from the boat dock. One block from Robson St. where there are many places to eat and shop. Walked the Gastown area and rode the Hop on hop off bus that conveniently has a scheduled stop at the Sandman - Georgetown. Went to […] Grandville Island by the bus and rode the water taxi. Great day. Staff contacted cab for the airport and they came in less than 5 minutes. Same price as two people on a shuttle. The hotel provided all that I expected for the price I paid. Great location, room was fine, attached restaurant was excellent and the staff was pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for walking distance to china town"
I was told the Hotel had a shuttle to airport and pier for cruise It didn't and cab to and from airport was $80.00 Total. Cab to and from pier was $20.00. Also booked room for one night after cruise and Was so small could hardly turn around. The location For walking around was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel close to Gastown and waterfront."
Wasn't sure about booking through Expedia and not knowing the hotel. A very pleasant experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good deal in downtown Vancouver"
Very nice location & nice room. Nightclub & Gym inside Hotel. Gym not open on Sunday.Genuine Expedia guest review
Was nothing too special. Room was pretty small but looked good. The door was in the corner of a hallway. As I said, nothing too special. Small room but comfy and did the jobGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great value and convenient for the tourist!"
We stayed at the Sandman for 3 nights before taking a cruise to Alaska. We toured the whole city and enjoyed its attractions on the Hop On Hop Off bus which you can catch right at the hotel. It is also very convenient to walk along the waterfront at False Creek "sea wall" behind the BC Place Stadium. It's a beautiful walk on a clear day. The hotel services […] met the expectations of a downtown hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Moderate hotel---decent price for the city"
The hotel is Ok but nothing special. Rooms are basic but clean, bathrooms are small, beds are doubles instead of queens. Elevators are very slow. Parking is too much, and internet in the lobby should be free. Otherwise, good location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, a little outdated"
It's a rather old hotel, well locatedVery friendly staff. A faint, unpleasant smell in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs updates and better clientele"
Small elevators, small rooms, no video checkout, long lines and rude service, noise two nights in a row at 3 am by loud and drunk customers (who even banged on room doors!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was clean, Staff was great. The only issue I had was that the room was to warm. The lowest the temp could be set at was 20ºC. The coolest the room ever got was 22.5ºC. Would be nice in future to be able to allow staff to over the cooling system to accommodate the comfort of the guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We choose this hotel because we had stayed once before & had been pleased. But this stay was 3 nights rather than 1 so we got a chance to see that the housekeeping has some issues. Our room wasn't cleaned the first day, even though we had been out for 6 hours so we had to request a cleaning & go to the lounge while it was done, then they didn't leave […] more coffee for the next morning so we had to call and ask for that. The dishes from our room service the next night we not cleared by the maids when they made up the room the next day and even when we put them in the hall no one ever picked them up. We had an "executive king" which had a great view but was very small, even getting a room service or luggage cart in the room was quite trying. And the bathroom has no counter space to speak of at all, so for an extended stay that's a pain. There is a Moxie's restaurant in the hotel which is nice and the room service food was excellent. As well there's another bar/grill that we didn't go to. FYI parking is $22 a day with taxes, over & above the room fee and if you have a bigger car, SUV or a full sized truck the parkade is very tight although it's covered and secure which is a plus, but I think we'll be staying elsewhere next time. "Nice affordable hotel."
Very pleasant hotel. Our first visit to Vancouver and did not know where to stay. We picked a winner. Clean smart rooms. We stayed two nights after a cruise. The Sandman is within walking distance to Chinatown and Gastown. The sightseeing bus stops right outside. The staff was pleasant and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to all tourist attractions, transport and cr"
we had a great stay. Great hotel and location. Only negative - the hotel needs to let other guests be aware that only one lift is in use when large groups are departing and their luggage is being transported down in the other - we waited half hour to get in the lift with our cases from level 8.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to waterfront"
The hotel was within walking distance of a bus stop and skytrain station, making transportation around the city easy. We stayed here the night before a cruise and were able to walk about 15 minutes to the cruise terminal. The room was a good size, comfortable and quiet. The wifi was a little slow but worked ok. The lobby has comfortable couches and […] chairs. There was a restaurant in the hotel and a gym, although a small fee is required to use the gym. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Check in and out was a breeze. We were unable to use the safe in the room since it was broken. We also were unable to control the temp in the room but just adjusted what we wore and blankets on the bed. The restaurant in the hotel lent us a bowl to make oatmeal but the maid removed it the first day and we had to go back to get one for the next days […] oatmeal. Grocery stores were nearby and produce was very good. We walked easily to main shopping areas and the city was beautiful. For the most part the city was clean except for cigarette buts almost everywhere we walked. Nice people but many beggars panhandled as we walked around. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good Proximity to Events"
The room was quiet because the window was on the opposite side of the building from the traffic. The room was small and had only one chair. The elevator was very slow to respond, so it was quicker to take the stairs. It took a long time to check in due to high volumn of people going to a concert nearby. The bed was comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Paying for a hotel, staying at a hostel."
Not a bad hotel per say, just not worth what I paid per night. Location is okay but next time I'm staying at the Hyatt. Similar prices but much closer to the night life.Genuine Expedia guest review
My fiance and I stayed four night at the hotel. It was in the perfect location, lots of things to do around the hotel. Its like three seconds away from rodgers arena and the BC place. Plenty of good food and bars within walking distance of the hotel. I would say that the only bad thing was the service I recieved at the front desk. There were a few gentlemen […] that were just extremely rude. But overall the hotel was fantastic, we would definitely stay there again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for the Conference!"
I must say that all was pretty decent, except Friday night was party night in the hotel...myself and many other guests lost a lot of sleep that night as young and drunk people ran up and down the halls at all hours, yelling and swearing and laughing...they may as well have been in the rooms with us!My room was cold and I couldn't quite figure out how […] to get warmer so that is my only room complaint. "Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Never again!"
It took us 40 minutes to check in, after which, it took another 15 minutes to get to our room because the elevators were so small and alot of people were waiting. When we got to our room, we were place in a room that's next to the elevator which made a lot of noise and there is no way I could have slept through it even with a sleeping pills and earplugs. […] I asked to be moved and the staff (I think his name was Alex) was kind enough to give us another room that's away from the elevator. The only think is that, he put us next to the stairs and we had people coming in and out of the stairs (because people refused to wait to use the elevators - LOONNGGG WAIT, and started using the stairs to go to their rooms) and we had the the exit door slamming non-stop!!!! Loud slamming of the stairs door, which is next to our room was so bothersome!!! I will never stay at this hotel again!!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing location for Canucks Game, service avrg"
Our stay was pleasant enough. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The service we experienced at the front desk and the restaurant (moxies) was slow and not always welcoming.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were shocked how nice the hotel was for the price we paid. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. Very knowledgable of the surrounding area for things to do and places to eat. The location can't be beat. Easy walking distance to Rodgers Areana for those wanting to catch a Canucks game and across the street from the larger areana that houses […] concerts and other special events. "Good hotel for singles, couples, business traveler"
The location of this hotel is excellent; near many downtown sites, post office, library, transit. The staff was always professional, very efficient. I enjoyed the view of the stadium, lit up at night. The elevators were rather small; I took the stairs at times, need the exercise. The bathroom was also small, but clean. Considering everything, I think […] this is an excellent deal ! The restaurant was quite nice and the lobby was pleasant with a gas fireplace. Enjoy Vancouver, there is so much to see and do. Very nice, clean hotel. Good location and definitely will stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was clean but the quality of the room was poor. The toilet, sink and towel rack were all not properly secured to their "base". We had 3 girls in our room and there was NO counter space at the sink to "get ready". I guess you get what you pay for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good stay for the money"
Good enough stay for the money. Parking is tough and elevators are slow and tiny, and the heat in room doesn't work well. We were there for a one night stay to watch a hockey game and it turned out just fine. Hotel is very convenient t to stadiums and has great restaurants and bars to hang out in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pay attention to the extra cost of parking"
It was built as a three star hotel, but it does not appear that way. The pee smelling in the garage, dirty looking elevator, towels with lip stick stains and other dirty stuff. They said that they would deliver some new towels to me, but I never got any. The parking cost $18/day, plus more than 30% tax makes a total more than $24 extra if you need park […] your car. More than 30% of tax for parking? No kidding, right? Wow!!! The Wi-Fi of this hotel does not really work or extremely slow. Basically, it is not really useful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and good value"
Close to everything and with friendly, helpful staff, but all three vending machines in the building were broken at the time of our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For only one night the stay was fine.....a little disappointed in that the cost of parking each night was outrageous......for two cars about $50 for one night......During Hockey season this would be a go to hotel right next to the arena.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Review of Sandman Vancouver Centre"
A good hotel in every way. Neither special, memorable not particularly good value for the money. Did not rate the comfort of the room that highly due to lack of towels and a minibar. A hotel at this comfort level should have a minibar. Our main issue with Sandman Vancouver Centre was the outrageous and exorbitant parking rates. It added almost a 1/4 […] extra to our bill. It could be that parking is a serious issue in Vancouver, however I wonder if we could have done better elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to stadium"
If they put you in a room near the stairwell, ask for another room. After someone opens the stairwell door, it will slam shut and make a loud noise, waking you up from your sleep. I had to put a towel in the door way, but housekeeping or someone else removed it a few times. The spa was a bit too hot. I could only stay a few minutes, but it helped relieve […] a bad neck ache (unrelated to hotel). Like most hotels in Vancouver, you will have to pay for parking. If you arrive in your vehicle, buzz the parking gate button so that hotel staff will let you in rather than paying extra for parking. You can pay at the front desk but remember your license plate number. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
