We were shocked how nice the hotel was for the price we paid. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. Very knowledgable of the surrounding area for things to do and places to eat. The location can't be beat. Easy walking distance to Rodgers Areana for those wanting to catch a Canucks game and across the street from the larger areana that houses […] concerts and other special events. Would recommend and will definitely get our first look next time we go to Vancouver. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A return-worthy stay"
Kind staff. Convenient location. Reasonably priced. Great place if you do not need frills and thrills, and yet still want a comfortable room. I'll definitely come back!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Friendly & great location"
The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a great location. Close to shopping and skytrain. Comfortable for a woman to be walking around alone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel for singles, couples, business traveler"
The location of this hotel is excellent; near many downtown sites, post office, library, transit. The staff was always professional, very efficient. I enjoyed the view of the stadium, lit up at night. The elevators were rather small; I took the stairs at times, need the exercise. The bathroom was also small, but clean. Considering everything, I think […] this is an excellent deal ! The restaurant was quite nice and the lobby was pleasant with a gas fireplace. Enjoy Vancouver, there is so much to see and do. The public transit is easy to navigate. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Very nice, clean hotel. Good location and definitely will stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was clean but the quality of the room was poor. The toilet, sink and towel rack were all not properly secured to their "base". We had 3 girls in our room and there was NO counter space at the sink to "get ready". I guess you get what you pay for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good stay for the money"
Good enough stay for the money. Parking is tough and elevators are slow and tiny, and the heat in room doesn't work well. We were there for a one night stay to watch a hockey game and it turned out just fine. Hotel is very convenient t to stadiums and has great restaurants and bars to hang out in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pay attention to the extra cost of parking"
It was built as a three star hotel, but it does not appear that way. The pee smelling in the garage, dirty looking elevator, towels with lip stick stains and other dirty stuff. They said that they would deliver some new towels to me, but I never got any. The parking cost $18/day, plus more than 30% tax makes a total more than $24 extra if you need park […] your car. More than 30% of tax for parking? No kidding, right? Wow!!! The Wi-Fi of this hotel does not really work or extremely slow. Basically, it is not really useful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and good value"
Close to everything and with friendly, helpful staff, but all three vending machines in the building were broken at the time of our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For only one night the stay was fine.....a little disappointed in that the cost of parking each night was outrageous......for two cars about $50 for one night......During Hockey season this would be a go to hotel right next to the arena.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Review of Sandman Vancouver Centre"
A good hotel in every way. Neither special, memorable not particularly good value for the money. Did not rate the comfort of the room that highly due to lack of towels and a minibar. A hotel at this comfort level should have a minibar. Our main issue with Sandman Vancouver Centre was the outrageous and exorbitant parking rates. It added almost a 1/4 […] extra to our bill. It could be that parking is a serious issue in Vancouver, however I wonder if we could have done better elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to stadium"
If they put you in a room near the stairwell, ask for another room. After someone opens the stairwell door, it will slam shut and make a loud noise, waking you up from your sleep. I had to put a towel in the door way, but housekeeping or someone else removed it a few times. The spa was a bit too hot. I could only stay a few minutes, but it helped relieve […] a bad neck ache (unrelated to hotel). Like most hotels in Vancouver, you will have to pay for parking. If you arrive in your vehicle, buzz the parking gate button so that hotel staff will let you in rather than paying extra for parking. You can pay at the front desk but remember your license plate number. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Expedia loyal customer"
The bathroom and beds are small. Their parking is terrible. I can't hardly park my car because it's too narrow. The receptionist looked like she had not gotten any sleep for a week. Bad customer service!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for Concert Goers at Rogers Arena"
Overall, this hotel was exactly what I expected - older but well-kept and clean. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted, and was allowed to check-in early (12:30 pm). My room was on the 9th floor; it looked out onto the street below and I could see the water, in the distance. It had everything that I needed - close proximity to Rogers Arena, safe environment, […] and attentive staff. If, in the future, I attend another concert at Rogers Arena, I would stay here. "Bare bones hotel"
We stopped for the night driving back from Whistler to Seattle. The front desk could not have been more aloof when checking in. Since we had a dog, we were assigned a room on the 3rd floor, and our room was next to the vending and ice machines. Our neighbors were super loud talking about drinking stories until after midnight. The elevators were small […] and slow. Since we had so luggage plus the dog, we couldn't take the stairs. We decided to hop on an elevator going up in order to go down. Otherwise, it would've always been full. The location was pretty good for the price, but I wouldn't choose to stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Sandman Hotel is in an excellent location in the Vancouver City Centre. The view from the hotel is very pleasant. The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. The room was clean. On the downside, the windows were ill fitting and steamed up overnight as the outside temperature dropped. The bathroom was inconvenient, as the bath and toilet were […] separated from the sink area, which had no door. This means that after using the toilet, one has to open the door before washing ones hands. This is unhygienic and the lack of a door infringes on one's privacy if there is more than one occupant of the room. However, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel. "Great location for events downtown"
I chose this hotel because of its proximity to Rogers Arena. The staff was great but there are only two elevators that got very crowded after an eventGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great deal for downtown Vancouver"
Great location, passable room but the hotel doesn't compare to the Sandman over by YVR in Richmond.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"ok but with drawbacks"
The free WI FI signal is so unstable that runs soooo slow. Also how can the parking charge money??Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel is in a good location. Front desk could be separated into general hotel guest enquires and check in/out thereby allowing efficient check in/out and reduce queue timeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Closest hotel to BC PLace"
I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The only annoying thing about the hotel was having to wait a long time for the elevator. We haven't experienced the Sandman chain until now, but we'll keep them in mind the next time we head to Canada.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A hotel with access"
Sandman was our last stop of six weeks' of Canadian train and bus travel. Located within walking distance of both Pacific Central VIA station and the Granville Market, the hotel is within twenty minutes of an endless supply of restaurants. Our ninth floor room was very quiet, roomy and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One night stay in Vancouver"
This hotel is in a great location if you are going to be at Rogers Arena. The room was as we requested and quite clean. The staff was professional but friendly. The bed was a bit hard but that may just be me. Highly recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was very clean. It has a great location in the city near Gastown and lots of restaurants. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. It could be a little loud at times but that was because it was Halloween weekend and there were lots of people out late.Genuine Expedia guest review
"short trip to vancouver"
Hotel is in the perfect location which was our preference apart from that there is a lounge, pub and a restaurant just besides the hotel and lot of happening stuff going around which was quiet interesting such as Halloween, Halloween Flash Mob near Vanc. "Everything felt a bit small here"
The elevators, hallways, and showers were all really narrow, and the showerhead hung at a height best for a 5 ft tall person. The pool area was nice, but only one elevator goes to pool level, and the hallway leading to the pool itself was so narrow my MIL's walker barely fit. Had a great say. I payed for the room before I arrived so had no problem checking in nor checking out. The room was very nice and clean and seemed relatively up to date, in a modern sense. The room had everything we needed and we felt comfortable and at home while there. The staff were helpful and polite as well. "Good value for money"
I got a free upgrade and a great room: modern design, comfortable bed and enough space. The free wireless is great as well.Genuine Expedia guest review
One of the best sleeps that I got while sleeping in a hotel - very comfortable pillows and matters, the A/C unit not too loud. The room was clean and spacious. We had pretty nice views out of our windows.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hot water was not working for a time one evening. The air conditioner was noisy and blows directly at the bed which made it uncomfortable to sleep with it on. Bathroom is tiny and no counter space. Also no fan or window in the bathroom to let steam escape. Other than all that, it was okay, clean, and centrally located.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
All for the confirmation. I did like the overall vacation trip. Did get confused about direction to location, but survived to sign-in! "A walking man's hotel"
I was very pleased with the hotel and its location. It was within walking distance of restaurants, bars and entertainment. I had a top-floor room with large expanses of glass to view the city and the marina.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stay was nice in general. Elevators were ver small and slow at times had to wait over 10 minutes to get the elevator. No hot water in the shower. Issue only resolved (room change) after repeated complaints / requestsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Hotel was in very bad condition. We had to move rooms because neither the AC or phone were working. Ended up in a room for one person with no closets in a different tower than our kids. The guy at the front desk was nice enough to not charge us for parking and gave us two 10.00 vouchers fro breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Next to CBC and the Vancouver Stadium"
The hotel is very nice but is tricky to get your vehicle into as the parking entrance is kind of hidden. Having said that, the hotel itself is very nice. The room was large, the bed was very comfortable. The hotel supplies very nice amenities with the room. Soap, shampoo and conditioner. Instant hot water in the bathroom - no waiting for either the […] shower or the sink. There is a frige in the room and a flat screen TV. Pool on second floor and a gym are available for use. "Wireless worked well, location is swell"
Wireless connection was very robust for me on an upper floor. Water temperature for the shower at 6 AM is great at about 130 F, needing cold water to get it to a comfy temp, but at 9 AM, the hot water flows at only 75 F or so, making it survivable, but not pleasant. Basement parking was convenient, and quite reasonable. The Shark/Moxie restaurant is […] decent. Extra stars go to the close location to all the downtown top features within walking distance. "Pretty Good Value"
It was pretty nice and a good value. It was a modest walk (7 blocks) to my conference, at the Vancouver Fairmont...but I knew that in advance and it was a cost-benefit decision I was happy to make. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The temperature was well controlled. No outside noise or light issues. "Convenient location in Vancouver."
Overall, the experience was good except for the air conditioning unit in the room was very loud and cycled on & off frequently, which was annoying. Also, the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan. "Well located but service is poor"
The hotel staff is not enough to attend all the guests. So, there is always a big line in the lobby. The elevators are also insufficient to attend all guests so you need to plan in advance and calculate a waiting time to take it before you leave your room. Service at the front desk is poor. excellent location to sky train and city bus. Approximately a block to sky train. Room was a nice size. Comfortable beds. Nice to have coffee in room. "Convenient location but inconvenient service"
The hotel lobby is very nice and inviting. Front desk staff were very helpful in offering an early check in. Disappointing that my room's view was of air conditioning units, room was between elevator and ice machine - noisy people and ice noise was a problem. Outlets for charging computers are not available on desk, either had to charge on nightstand […] or on the shelf above the refrig. No TV checkout or express check out available and what a pain that they did not answer the phones that morning of checkout. Disappointed to have to stand in line ( 5 min. since only one person at front desk) to checkout a room with no balance due. Waste of time for me! To add to the disappointment, there was a fire alarm, had to walk flights of stairs and a half hour delay to get to rooms. Lobby bar/restaurant disappointing too. Walked in, servers ignored me and several other people. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
