"Not worth the money"
Unfriendly staff, rooms are very out dated, tried to give us two double beds instead of the queen that we paid for, refused to give us our free breakfast even though it came with the room we paid for, shuttle only runs until 10:30pm. "Worst Hotel Experience Ever"
At 10pm noise from upstairs still extreme. Front desk said they had workers taking apart desks and they would be more quiet. So instead of extreme noise sounded like a dentist office until way after midnight. Also the workers were smoking which filtered down into our room filling it with cigarette smoke. Front desk said they would have security look […] into it but it did not stop. So ok we endured. Next day really upset me. Granted they would not give us any compensation for the bad experience. Our Room would have been okay, but the hotel has severe water issues and the carpet was soaked the entire 4 night stay due to cracks in bathrooms on other floors. WE ADDED A WEEKDAY AND DELETED A SAT NIGHT STAY. THE DIFFERENCE WAS $50.00. THE SECOND ISSUE WAS ON OUR LAST NIGHT THERE THE HOTEL HAD SOME SORT OF DANCE PROGRAM ON THE 10TH FLOOR, DIRECTLY ABOVE OUR ROOM AND OTHERS AROUND US. WHEN WE CALLED THE FRONT DESK THEY INFORMED US THAT THE DANCING AND MUSIC WAS GOING TO BE OVER DIRECTLY AT 11PM. "Multiple problems, condescending staff."
The mattress in our room sagged like a ton of bricks had been dropped on it, and it was a long and uncomfortable first night. When we asked for a new mattress or a new room for our second night, they gave us a new room, but the key didn't work. Three times I went back to the desk, three times it didn't work, so they gave us yet another room. We inadvertently […] left a piece of clothing in the first room, and the front desk staff were not very helpful -- or customer-service centered, for that matter -- in their attitude about retrieving it. No sense of urgency whatsoever, and the clerk clearly was annoyed to have to take care of the matter. When the housekeeping manager finally did bring it to our room, she handed it to us without saying a word, then left. I've never been treated by a hotel staff the way they treated us. In addition, the main door in both rooms was poorly sealed and let in a LOT of hallway noise. The comforter on our bed had a large coffee stain on it. The lamps and other electric devices were plugged into an extension cord with a three-way plug. The rooms need updating. The wi-fi cost $10.00 a day! You have to pay $10 per day for each item you request, i.e., small fridge, small microwave..never heard of this before. You have a shuttle for downtown (2.5 miles) that is suppose to run on the 1/2 hr but they only have two and one is for the airport so it is never timely and if more than 6 people want to go you wait for next one. it is easier to take […] the cab for 12.50. If you go anywhere else but downtown the cabs run $25-40.00. They do have bus transportation but you have to buy tix in a kiosk and then try to find your bus. The one bright light is the dining room Pralines, there is a breakfast buffet for 10.00 and a full menu. The staff in the dining room are excellent and friendly. We were there for the The Final Four Women's Basketball week and there were so many people in town that this could have been part of the reason trans was a problem. We only spoke to 2 staff members but they were nice and professional. The bathroom was not clean. The shower had hair in it, the shower tile had dirty smudges on it, and the toilet seat had brown smudges on it which came off with a damp cloth. The baseboards had dirt build up all over them. The shower curtain was stained as if it had been used as a […] floor drape while painting. I used a towel as a tub mat so my feet wouldn't touch the tub. "Sometimes "first impressions" are deceiving..."
When you walk in the lobby it is very inviting and nice giving a false impression of what is to come. Our room was no where near as inviting or nice as the lobby. The beds were lumpy and the mattresses caved towards the center. The bathroom door was busted and the wood splitting/peeling off at the botton. The maintenance staff who came to our room was very nice and helped out with the tv but once he left it went out again. They are not at fault for the poor conditions of the room; however, I wonder how long it has been since the owners of this hotel have actually looked at all the guest rooms. The hotel has potential if they'll make improvements to decor and furnishings (my toilet ran constantly even after a maintenance person "fixed" it, the wood veneer on doors is peeling and stripped off, bureau drawers have broken cardboard bottom panels that fall out, bedding has some bizarre form of foam-like lining).
