I was suprised to find they did not have a continental breakfast or even coffee served downstairs. We had to go to the grocery store that night to get liquid creamer for our coffee. "Decent Price, Close to the city, Old/Outdated"
This hotel is about 2.5 miles from the city, but they do offer a hotel shuttle. I wish the shuttle ran later, as we had to take a cab to get back most of the time. The room was a decent size, but not very clean. The sheets didn't look washed and the bathroom was pretty old and dirty. This hotel is decorated with a music theme (huge guitars at the entrance, musical notes in the lobby, pictures of music concerts on the walls), it's clean, and well located in the Music City part of Nashville. I stayed here for work and the only complaint I have is that I ordered room service after a LONG 12r work day and it was promised within 30mins. "Cleanliness was an issue"
I had booked this hotel thinking it would be a good stay. However, I was very disappointed to find that our room was not properly cleaned. Wet urine was found on one of the bed sheets. There were also a lot of dirty spots on the ironing table. I called front desk and housekeeping responded quickly to replace the ironing table and all bed sheets and […] pillow cases. "Long time business patron not pleased ..."
The internet connection was very slow and extremely frustrating while trying to work. I was comped the $10/per day fee for WiFi but service this slow should not be charged anyway. I traveled to Nashville from Chicago for a business conference. I chose this hotel because a shuttle service was offered. I called two days before my trip to ask if I needed to reserve a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. I also asked if shuttle service to the conference within 5 miles of the hotel was offered. I wanted to ensure that a car rental […] was unneeded. I was told on the phone that the shuttle is available every half hour. Additionally, the shuttle service was confirmed. When I got to the hotel shuttle area, I was told that the Millenium Maxwell had to be contacted (they are not regularly scheduled every half hour). I waited about 20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. When I got to the hotel to register, I asked about arranging for a shuttle to a location that is 4.7 miles from the hotel (according to Mapquest). The manager at the desk said that they "don't go there." I could talk to the drivers but the location was too far. Someone should get the employees on the same page in answering guests' inquiries. "Probably was a nice place 30 years ago."
Bottom line up front - I will not stay here again and would not recommed it to anyone else. Bad first impression. Parking situtuation was not good. They had a whole section of parking blocked off as reserved. This made for an extended walk in with luggage. Place that was designated for check-in/ drop-off was blocked by hotel vehicles. I would guess […] it was a little over a quarter mile walk in the mid-day heat with all my stuff. The front desk staff were very pleasant upon check-in. Although I requested two beds for my daughter and I, they tried to give me a room with just one. Upon further request, I was able to get the room that I had booked. My initial impression of the room was also poor. I walked in and was struck by a musty odor. It also appreared that the room had not been remodeled in at least a decade. The wallpaper in the bathroom was bubbled as if the wall behind was decaying, the caulking was cracked, the tub rusted. The beds were okay if you like your soft with little support. When I pulled the bed spread back, there were pubic hairs and grit in the bed. I slept on the top of the comforter. There was no hotel informaiton book and if internet service was available, there was no information on how to obtain it. I do know that there is a pay service for internet, but it was not evident how one could access it. Hotel was clean, rooms were just fine. Only 2 miles from downtown Nashville and the hotel offers a free shuttle downtown that runs every 25-30 minutes. For what they charge the rooms should be less dilapidated. The tile was cracked in the bathroom and I had to call to front desk to tell them not to charge me for the towel bar barely being held onto the wall. The A/C was loud, but that doesn't bother me I don't mind the white noise, but keep this in mind. Very old units. "Not great for families"
Our family of 4 was only here 1 night. The bathroom was really dirty--mold and mildew in every corner, wallpaper peeling off the walls, and you couldn't keep the drain plug up, so even if you wanted to take a shower, the tub filled while you were showering. The air conditioner didnt' work properly, so it was HOT in our room. Air came out, but it was […] not cool air. We tried many times adjusting it to no avail. Our room was near the elevator next to a corner room--so our door was RIGHT against another room door (not separated by the space of the room). This meant that when the drunk 20-somethings staying in the room next to us came home at 4:00am and started banging on the door and calling out their friend's name to let them in the room, we heard all their drunk yelling and cursing--as did our kids. We called the hotel operator and they did send someone up rather quickly, which was good. but--overall, not a great place for families because of the clientele. Also--the hotel courtesy shuttle to downtown is supposed to arrive every 15 minutes. It doesn't. It finally came after 35 minutes of waiting and by then there was a LONG line of people waiting, everyone angry. Someone getting off the shuttle said, "Take a cab home--it's much faster. The 3 ½ star rating for this hotel is way-off, to say the least. I would not give this property a 2 star for the following reasons: 1. The lights on the hotel signage were not working 2. We reserved a king room and we received a room with two double beds. 3. The beds are very old, low to the ground, extremely soft, lumpy and wobbly. The beds sagged […] in the middle. 4. The sheets were stained. 5. The door to the room was damaged with wood missing. 6. The pillows were old and lumpy. 7. The furnishing was small, worn and very tacky. 8. On a little round table by the radiator there was a broken ice bucket with two cheap disposable plastic cups. The vinyl ice bucket had a tear in the vinyl. 9. The tile in the bath was chipped. 10. The door handles and tub hardware was rusted. I 11. The hair dryer mounted to the wall was loose and when in use little chips/particles of the wall plaster fell out onto the sink. I hope it didn’t contain asbestos. 12. The desk chair had a tear in the vinyl. 13. There was a small coffee pot with tiny disposable plastic cups. I have photos of all of these items.
