So pleased with the staff that worked here especially Bernadette and Marcel, they were wonderful and so helpful for our entire trip. I stayed here for 9 nights and got to know the staff, we had our dog on the trip and they were friendly and warm to him as well as my 12 year old daughter. It is incredibly clean and the rooms are much better than I imagined they would be considering the rate. I will be moving to the area of this Hyatt and will definitely have friends and family stay here when they come to visit. They do have a gallery menu that is available 24/7 and that was decent considering the price of what was listed. The only downside I would say is that they have a limited staff working sometimes and when you do order off the gallery menu you have to go pick it up at the front desk, but considering it is available 24/7 it wasnt all that much of an inconvenience. There is a great Mexican restaurant that shares the parking lot called Jalapenos as well as several other food and gas stations in the area, including a WAWA right next door. There were not many channels on the TV which was not a huge problem for us as we were mostly out sightseeing. I highly recommend this Hyatt. To my family and I, it became our home away from home and we didnt want to leave!

The city of Colonial Heights is directly across the Appomattox River from Petersburg. Of historic interest is the Violet Bank Museum, where General Lee had his headquarters during the Siege of Petersburg in 1864. General Lafayette was also headquartered here during an artillery bombardment on Petersburg in 1781. Swift Creek Mill, built in 1663, is possibly the oldest grist mill in the U.S.

The room was passable for a one night stay, but I don't believe I got my money's worth. The buildings were older, which was made fairly apparent as the landing of the second floor was sloping. The room was fairly clean, but our non-smoking room smelled of smoke when we entered. Several trains passed nearby in the night.

The stay was ok nothing to rave about, the pillows was way to soft no body to them, the bed was excellent, and room cleaniness good. Very quiet, would stay again but need more pillows or different pillows.

one improvement would have been to have a bottom sheet that remained on the bed - also the bottom sheet had a 1-inch diameter hole in it. The Hotel dumpster was emptied in the middle of the night which woke me up. Coffee was good. Price was right -

This hotel was a great bargain! The hotel is an older building, but it is maintained very well. The housekeeping staff does a great job of keeping the rooms clean. The staff is friendly and courteous.

Don't listen to bad reviews. If a cheap one night stay and a place to lay your head is what you are looking for, then this is the place. If your looking for a vacation with spa, modern rooms, silk sheets, then find a more expensive hotel. Get what you pay for.

The lady in the office was very rude and should not work with people, she needs to be a back office somewhere. The room carpet was so dirty my feet were black, The room was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for!!

We didn't get the room we wanted. We reserved two queen beds (and let me tell you I searched for HOURS for a hotel room with 2 queens and a pool for my daughter that was decently priced). We were so tired from doing the zoo in almost 100 degree weather that before I could go to the desk and complain hubby was snoring! So I let it go. Needless to say […] on the second night I rolled over and elbowed him in the face and he ended up awake for the next 4 hours! The hotel is not on the main road and is hard to find. Housekeeping was very slow to non existing. The room was in desperate need of upgrade and repair. The bathroom was full of black mold.
