TRH is a great hotel to stay at if you plan omn getting married at The Dell. It's right across the street. The beds are nice, but the TV's are throwbacks. Also the bathrooms were pretty old. The dining faciltiy is great and affordable if you stick to the house menu but if you go a la carte expect to pay a little extra. The city center is walking distance […] and no location should take you longer than 20 minutes to get to. It took us about 15 minutes to walk to Roy's a must see if you go to Gibraltar. Honest Review: there is not much choice in Gibraltar. this is the best choise. It is on outskirts of the town centre but it is only 15min walk. We never even got the bus but if you want one - the bus stop is just outside! taxi £5 from town center or a/p. The area of the hotel- where the cable cars are and beautiful gardens just across the road from […] the hotel! The views from all windows are on the coast and marina! The cleanliness of the hotel - very clean! Bed sheets - perfect! Towels - perfect! All prestene and smells good too. Very nice atmosphere at breakfast - very relaxed. Although breakfast is limited, fresh fruit would have been nice.but what food is there is nice and the eggs can be cooked to order the way you like them. Negatives: 1) staff is too relaxed, not welcoming or "interested" or "involved". reception staff. Very laid back and chat all the time and laugh loud between themselves.. Slightly..unprofessional? Maybe? 2) the hotel is in many places is falling apart. But there is a massive refurbishment planned, I believe? It is needed. And ASAP. Very clean, but style/condition is very old, very dated. 3) you can not open balconies/windows. Is it because monkeys are often on the balconies? Overall, if I was to stay in Gibraltar again, I would still chose The Rock Hotel, but it is honest 3 star hotel in need of re- decoration and some repairs. Read more

we stayed at this hotel last year when my husband and I get married in Gibraltar when we returned this year the hotel has got further in to disrepair, the TV did not work (a problem with the airiel it would appear), the fridge did not work, the air conditioning did not work, the kettle was dirty, the wardrobe had a split plinth alog the bottom of it […] and was crudely glued back together, we love this hotel for the reason that we stayed there when we got married but I do not feel we would go back until I read reviews that it has had a refurb. Having said that the staff were great, always friendly and helpful and couldn't on the whole do enough to assist. The dinning room was not open in the evening which was a dissapointment, they only had a BBQ by the pool. The rooms were cleaned everyday to a good standard. The hotel is a way off the main high street and where as last year all the buses were free and we made very good use of such as the hotel is up a very large hill, they now charge for the bus services around Gibraltar. The Rock Hotel is an iconic Gibraltar landmark and long may it remain so . Hopefully it will regain its high standard with a renovation project and not let it decay as it is now. However I would still go there as the lounge and especially the revamped pool area are wonderful.

This is a lovely hotel situated just outside of the main town. It is up on the side of the rock & overlooks the naval shipyards. Arriving at the new airport building we walked to the hotel. It took 45mins. But there is a bus! The No5 leaves from opposite the old terminal buildings (at the moment this is used for departures only). There is a small charge […] (£1-£2) to travel to the small bus station in the town. You then change and get the No2 bus. It will drop you off immediately outside the hotel - and is free. At the hotel reception, we were greeted with a glass of sherry. Whilst the receptionists didn't have the sunniest of smiles, we did find them extremely helpful and most pleasant. After reading very mixed reviews on a variety of sites, I was a little apprehensive about the hotel. But it was lovely! Breakfast is included in the rate (it may not specifically say so on your documents, but it is). When we stayed, there was a two for one deal in the restaurant. The menu had good choice & the quality of the food was great. I would certainly recommend this hotel. Especially if you want a bit of luxury during your stay on Gibraltar. Ps keep your windows closed when you are not in your room. The apes are renowned for getting in and stealing food & things from your bags! We were not caught out, but another unfortunate guest was! Still a grand hotel although showing signs of ageing a little. Rooms basic although I think previously occupied by a smoker so a little smelly. Great views over the straights, but now a little away from main hubs of entertainment. Staff helpful but can be noises .

We stayed here for 4 days. I thought we didn't have any breakfast in the rate included but the staff didn't mention it until we checked out, which was annoying. The hotels interior is very tired and old looking. Some staff were nice, the reception staff just couldn't be bothered. I wouldn't stay there again I don't think. A real shame.

In easy walking distance to the pedestrian shopping area, and right next to a busstop. We had such a relaxing stay, the lobby has huge picture windows looking out over the sea we had such a pleasant stay. The staff were helpful and polite too.

The reception staff who appeared quite stand-offish , but if you stand up to them they are helpful.they were the only minor problem in what is a nice hotel with brilliant views. You have to be fit to walk back and forwards from the town ( steep hill) breakfast was fine, but it helps to be early otherwise the cooked food is Luke warm the waiting staff […] went to the same charm school as the reception staff.except for the mangar who made a effort for you.The housekeeping staff were wonderful and friendly, a credit to the hotel. It was an old hotel and quite expensive for one night. I have been to better 4* hotels at cheaper rates. I did not particularly like the twin beds which is quite incovenient for couples.

This is a nice, but old hotel in Gibraltar and was a nice place to stay for the single night we were there (which we were glad was only one night). Gibraltar doesn't offer that much excitement and the rock itself is quite disappointing. With the amount they charge for the cable-car/national park, they could do with some cleaners/park attendants to get […] rid of all the rubbish, but I digress! A delightful hotel, built in the 1930s and retaining many of the characteristics of that era. Friendly staff, relaxed, not stiff. Perhaps not trained to five-star standards, but that did not detract overmuch. This hotel is highly commendable. It is situated close to the cable cars to take you up to the Rock. The look and feel of the hotel made you feel as though you were on a cruise boat, and we loved it. The bar area is really nice as is the balcony and lounge area. The rooms were very good although the bathroom wasn't as good as other hotels we stayed […] at that were cheaper. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Parking was free but we had to leave it on a very steep hill with not a lot of space for passing traffic. A fantastic view could be had from the balcony looking over the bay and also towards Africa, which was even better at sunset. The only warning to provide is MONKEYS. One came down to our balcony and made us feel slightly uneasy about our room as the balcony door does not lock and we heard from other reviews that monkeys have the ability to open the doors and come into your room to steal things. The Hotel is located in a location giving views of Spain and Africa from most rooms, I had an amazing balcony and a great room. The bathroom was spacious and the room very comfortable. The Rock Hotel is well placed for the cable car station, botanic gardens and town centre, for which a convenient bus service passes outside the hotel. The rooms are nothing special but adequate. The food seems rather dear. Dejlig beliggenhed, flot udsigt. Ingen minibar, men køleskabet var tændt så man kunne selv putte drikkevare ind. Sengene var lidt for hårde at ligge i. Der er ret lyt man kan tydeligt høre naboerne. Venligt personale. God betjening. Lidt slidt hotel, men alligevel hyggeligt.

Hotel staff is very friendly, breakfast is good (buffet style). Front office staff is very friendly and helpfull. This hotel gives you a true Gibraltar feeling since the apes climb all over and even come on your balcony or terrace, a fun experience. The road to the hotel is steep but a convenient bus stop is in front of the hotel (buy a Hoppa ticket […] for 1.50 GPB (all day use)). Hotel room and bathroom were very clean. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the beginning of Main Street and the Cable Car station. I would definately stay here again. Read more
