The look of the hotel from outside does not show how comfortable and serene this hotel is. The location is just next to the super five-star hotel Intercontinental but the service is not second to it. There is very […] nice and welcome sitting area to meet with friends in the inner lobby area. The Thai restaurant on the ground floor plays amusing traditional Thai music during the dinner. I love that kind of Thai touch when I walk around in the lobby, at least it reminds me of staying in this cultural kingdom of Thailand. Nowadays, all cities look so modernized and the same everywhere. The buffet for breakfast-included with room rate and lunch buffet are very well prepared and serviced by attentive-helpful staff. There are so many different varieties of ethnic food. No worry if you are vegetarian, they will service you like in the first class hotel as well. Staff can remember your room number, no need to ask you everyday when you come in for breakfast. They even know what table you like. The hotel location is very convenient to everywhere in the downtown connect to the sky-train station and the skywalk to every where in the area, even it is raining no need an umbrella. You can also use the entrance and exit of the intercontinental hotel because they are connected. I definitely will choose this hotel again next year for my Thailand vacation. Read more

The staff was great. The room was big and clean. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner were great. With the traffic in Thailand, being right next to the largest mall in Asia with all the surrounding restaurants and shopping plus being right at a Sky Train stop made this venue perfect.

I think the hotel service was quite good and the hotel conditions great. I was on vacations and maybe that´s why I think the location was not so good (e.g. not so close to downtown by walking). However, I would definitely recommend it for a business travel. Besides, it has a very nice (and not expensive) restaurant.

I travel often & the Holiday Inn Bangkok is one of my favorite hotels in the world! One of the main reasons is that the staff is phenomenal. I looked at a standard room at the Intercontinental compared to the Executive room at the Holiday Inn. The hotels are next door to each other. There is a joining passage and you can book meals etc. in the Intercontinental to the Holiday Inn room. The Executive floor has free drinks and snacks in the early evening. It includes one hour free meeting […] room which was important to me. My meeting lasted two hours but no extra charge. No parking charge for my visitors when I presented them with my rook key. Which is nice for them. Overall the Executive upgrade at the Holiday Inn was cheaper than a standard room at the Intercontinental with better services. We booked 2 rooms and when I checked out I was told my room had a Bht 150 minibar charge which I did not want to pay because I did not consumed anything. I had bought a can of beer from 7-11. Most probably the chamber maid saw an empty can and bill me for it. My children had consumed drinks at the […] bar (while watching football) and there was also a Bht 150 minibar charge which i PAID because they were not around wh en i checked out. The hotel is well connected to the Chidlom Skytrain. The room was of a good size as was the toilet. The room was cleaned quite late in the day but a good job was done. The buffet breakfast was quite extensive. Communication was not very easy as the staff is not particularly fluent in English.

Whilst driving to Bkk we learned a relative was ariving BKK at the same time. We arranged to meet up in our hotel which unfortunately was fully booked. I made a booking via Hotels.com believing I had booked for that night however had erroneously put in the next days date as date of check in. Front counter staff on check in were rude, unhelpful and demanded […] an extra days room rate AT THEIR WALK IN RATE before attempting any check in procedure.Eventually after some considerable time they took a cash deposit ( card not acceptable sir) and my cousin was eventually given a basic room without B/F. Fortunately the reservations team were better mannered and trained as I received a call at my hotel around 2330 hrs confirming that everything had been resolved and if I could come back tomorrow they would give me my deposit back.. After a l.ong drive the last thing anyone neeeds is an obstreperous check in clerk, regretfully my cousin got him and it took almost one hour to get hgim checked in to a hotel where the usual check in time is around 4 minutes. It was terrific! Stayed for a night here for my yearly pilgrimage to the four-faced buddha and the buddha pavilion was just a walk away from the hotel. Additionally, the Amarin, Central World and Erawan Bangkok is also just a walk away, while other shopping centres such as MBK and Terminal 21 are also nearby and reachable by their MRT. The only negative comment I have is that in common with so many hotels now, the room lighting is poor - particularly when the room faces onto other buildings. The Ploenchit Road Holiday Inn is as luxurious and comfortable as the most expensive hotels in Bangkok, yet really wonderful value for money. It has a nice pool, a well-equipped little gym, and a good business centre, and most important it offers superb service from a staff who are not only smiling and courteous - as everyone seems to be in Thailand - but will actually go out of their way to help with any query and fulfill any need. For a few dollars you can have all the thai, japanese and european food you can eat in the excellent running buffet in the downstairs restaurant which operates for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or the smarter ground-floor restaurant has a very good thai a la carte. If you join the Holiday Inn Priority Club you get free in-room wifi, which is worth having, and the hotel laundry is fast and very good but not cheap.
