"a brief 2-day visit"
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Too long of a wait to check-in. A pianist in the lobby is to be expected; the repeating tape was a huge disappointment. A live person played for only a very brief time. The incidentals are exorbitantly priced: a carton of yogurt for $3.50!! Charge for a hotel tour?? $18 a day for parking? $11 charge for internet? […] The hotel should pick up these charges, or at least have the ducks do it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, Very Comfortable, VERY SMALL Bathroom"
Great place, lots of charm and history. Rooms are nice, very comfortable, but very small. The bathroom was REALLY small. Overall, it's a great place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fabulous historical hotel"
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Memphis. Walk to Beale St, restaurants and shopping. Don't miss the duck parade which happens 2 times a day. Wonderful service by all staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Beale Street"
Fantastic. Love the ducks and the tour with the duckmaster is a must. Enjoyed the history of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"close to museums"
beautiful hotel felt like a princessGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Ducks were great for kids, on site grill was just ok, but two blocks away were tons of great places to eat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed overnight on our way to another destination and had a great time. Check in was smooth and fast, rooms beautiful (we upgraded for an additional $35- well worth it), lobby was gorgeous. Before heading to bed, we had the Adult Hot Chocolate and dessert in the lobby bar. A must have!!! Amazingly delicious. Best tiramisu I've ever had.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel and close to Beale Street"
Very comfortable stay and like the colors on walls in roomGenuine Expedia guest review
The food was excellent. The room was clean but very small. Parking was not good. Staff was polite and professional.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Iconic Peabody delivers GREAT service"
The Peabody is right in the heart of Memphis, and a block away from Beale Street. It has a beautiful lobby. The ducks are amazing, and swim in the gorgeous center fountain, and it's fun to watch the delight on childrens' faces. The first night we arrived, we were in room 735, which is right next to the elevator, and it made a racket all night...we were […] exhausted from a long trip and late night music, so we were able to sleep through it. The next day we complained, and the manager took excellent care of us and made up for our inconvenience with a better room at a better price. I would hardily recommend this hotel if you can afford it. It is a "class act". (Avoid room 735 if you can!). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Chose the $85 upgrade. The view from the room they gave us was brickwall and parking. When i called with request for room change we were given a larger room with beautiful view of Union st. ASK..don't assume.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mizzou vs. Ole Miss trip"
We loved the hotel! We actually sat in the lobby and enjoyed the ambiance for once! It was very comfortable and beautifully elegant. Christmas decorations were going up and were just beautiful, and the ducks were as awesome as everyone has told us they were. We also enjoyed our late night snack after the game, and I only wish I could remember the waitress' […] name. She was awesome! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice family hotel"
The hotel was great -- the hotel restaurants -- not so good. We loved the ducks!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had tickets for a show at the Orpheum Theater and decided to try the Peabody. This was our first trip to Memphis so we were unsure of the surroundings. We found this to be the perfect place to stay and walk to the theater, Beale Street, and noticed so many other things close by. We felt safe and even found a great rib place. It was a great experience […] and we will be back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not so ducky!"
The Peabody lived up to our expectations with respect to appearance--but not much else! The decor is very refined...but you know what they say about beauty?? It is skin deep only. The lighting in the bathroom was so poor it was nearly impossible to shave or apply makeup. The shower was a disaster! When our room was cleaned the first day, all glasses […] were removed. It took four calls (the last one to the manager) and more than 45 minutes to get a glass. The concierge was never able to answer a question without an interminable computer search, and when we called her asking for the phone number of the restaurant where we had dinner reservations (supposedly the top restaurant in Memphis) she said I'll call you right back with that...but she NEVER called back. And so it went!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
beautiful hotel! will definitely go back. Pricey though. You can find quality hotels in Memphis for much cheaper.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location! Great staff! Loved the room!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic Grande Hotel"
We only stayed one night. We got to see the duck march. It was entertaining. I liked the decor in the room. Daphne Blue walls and white trim. Nice touch. Overall very comfortable. Kind of small. The rooftop was great. Nice views of the city. Very Grande Hotel. I recommend it for a night. Don't know if it's worth the price for a long stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Incredible! Beautiful historic hotel."
We loved the Peabody. Will stay again, for sure. Everything was perfect, including very comfortable beds. I left a pair of shoes and they promptly shipped them to me. Loved the March of the Ducks!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Only question is the smell of the room and some noise above the ceiling.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Size does count"
Beautiful old style hotel with great amenities and people. Only drawback was the tiny bathroom that could have been improved with better shelving etc.Great afternoon tea and breakfast. Outstanding locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Luxurious and Elegant"
The staff made us feel very special and the hotel was very elegant.Genuine Expedia guest review
My Husband and I we staying in Nashville and decided to drive to Memphis for the day; which turned into the night! We had to find a hotel last minute and picked this one. The prices are higher, but defiantly worth it! The hotel is a block off of Beale St! It is beautiful inside as well! The duck show is super cute. It only happens twice a day so it […] is recommend to go a half and hour early! The only thing I wound not recommend is the valet parking! It was 35 a day and there is a lot close enough to the hotel to make that not worth the money. The other reading being we had to wait over a half and hour to get out car. All and all it was great hotel would stay again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Charming and a must stay in Memphis"
I would only stay @ the Peabody if I ever went back to Memphis. I decide I have a lot of the US left to see, so I need to travel to other cities. However, if I'm passing through Memphis on my way to another US vacation destination, I will have to stay at the Peabody.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful historic hotel."
The only reason I rate this a little less than perfect is that it is a little old world (in a bad sense) in things like checking in for flights. It's a clunky process that means going through the concierge. Otherwise, terrific all round. Nice bar, lovely decor. TIP: paying for the upgrade to the club floor is very well worth it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, very nice hotel"
After reading previous reviews I have to admit I was a little skeptical about staying here but after we arrived I knew there was nothing to worry about. The hotel is very nice and all the employees were courteous and nice. The room was cozy and comfortable. The negative reviews about the bathroom being small is correct but I had no problem with it and […] just made use of the desk area to place make-up and so forth. I can't say enough about how friendly and welcoming the employees were. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"walking distance to all the key tourist destinatio"
Loved the hotel and staff. Concierge directed us to two locally owned and operated restaurants and we discovered a real food scene in Memphis. People watching with a glass of wine in the foyer was very relaxing. Top marks for the march of the ducks!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Worst bathroom for the money you can imagine. Literally no space to place anything. Had to shave in the shower, which was combination tub. For the money, totally inadequate. Also, was offered morning paper which was to be delivered. Nada. Way overpriced for the amenities.Genuine Expedia guest review
"If you want basic and dont care about price"
The hotel it self is beautiful, historic, and the staff was amazing. The location was perfect with ample access to surrounding entertainment. These are the only pros. Reality is that the only reason to stay at this hotel is to say you did. For what you get for the cost of the room it is really a rip off. If all you are wanting to see is the famed marching […] of the ducks, book a room at the Double Tree or Holiday Inn, or Hilton (located next to the Peabody) and just walk over to see this event or the historic features of the hotel. I cannot say enough about the staff, (friendly, helpful, and a joy to interact with), but for what you get for your money its just not worth it. For what the nightly rate was, I expected more amenities afforded to the guest from the hotel. Everything has a cost from parking, to usage fees, to the $4.00 bottles of water in the rooms. I have stayed at luxury hotels in the US and several foreign countries and it was a completely different experience. The Peabody misses the mark on this and I felt they are more into making a buck than catering to their guests. I guess I expected more, but came up sorely disappointed. Rooms are small and very thin walls but an overall good trip!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a beautiful hotel near Beale Street and many other attractions. The only small complaint I have is that the bathroom was rather small and difficult to move around in. Other than that, everything was outstanding.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old southern hotel near Beale St."
Very limited King bed availability. Don't get Superior room hru Expedia! Very misleading. Ended up with Handicap room with broken toilet and shower water ran out into bathroom.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Well located for restaurants and bars"
Well located for restaurants and bars. The check-in staff were not particularly friendly nor helpful. The ducks in the hotel lobby/bar were an unexpected and fun addition to the atmosphere. The room was well appointed though quite small.Genuine Expedia guest review
"too many extra charges"
There were to many hidden charges on the room parking some room fees and everything u use in the rooms costs uGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean room, great service. Walls are too thin. We could hear everything in the next room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My friend was visiting me from England and wanted to go to Graceland and Beale street so I booked us into The Peabody and we weren't disappointed! We loved seeing the duck march !!! The valet attendants were efficient and courteous, the check in staff were excellent and when they realized it was our first visit and we had driven a long way, they upgraded […] our room at no cost. The room was pretty and spacious, the bathroom was small but very well equipped with toiletries, (we did not plan on spending our weekend in the bathroom!!) The beds and pillows were so comfortable !! The lobby bar staff were very friendly and gave us some tips on places to see and the check in lady told us where to eat some good bar-b-q and she was right. Blue city café a 2 block walk, it's at the top of Beale st. Beale street is a must to visit and is a complete experience for drinking, eating and excellent people watching! "Just visit, don't stay."
If you book from a travel website they treat you like a first time home buyer. now if you book through the hotel and pay out your eyeballs for a "real" room it's a excellent hotel! I would say stay at Madison and visit Peabody. it's my best advice the standard room is SMALL and if you stay in one they treat you like steerage class on Titanic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very enjoyable. Close to everything we wanted to do. Ducks were really cool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to venues in downtown Memphis"
Hotel excellent and close to Gibson Guitar, Studios and Beale Street. All walking distance. Only drawback is if you self park it is quite a walk.Genuine Expedia guest review
very disappointed that a hotel such as the Peabody did not have a refrigerator or a minibar in the room. I am traveling by car and need readily available refrigeration for medical reasons. I mentioned it to staff on the 12th floor but it went nowhere. I would not stay at a Peabody again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice, old, grand Hotel"
Very well kept. When we got to the hotel the staff automatically upgraded us to a king suit, because we were kept waiting for about 10 min while another couple checked in. The room was clean and well kept. When we returned from dinner the first night a fresh plate of chocolate strawberries were waiting for us on our return. We were able to sleep in […] with no one bothering us, and when we left our room was made up very quickly. The staff was polite and gave us a tour of the grand hotel. very nice. All in all a very good stay Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Marching of the ducks"
Excellent hotel. Within walking distance of just about everything to see in Downtown Memphis. Beale Street is just 3 blocks away, the trolley is 2 blocks way. There is no shortage of food establishments, and Rendezvous is just down the alley, best ribs in Memphis. The March of the Ducks is a sight to see. Amazing history and architectureGenuine Expedia guest review
"Our trip to Memphis"
So looked forward to this hotel. Had stayed at the one in Orlando as we live in Central Florida. The room was so small. Not even enough room to put a toothbrush on the sink. For a very expensive hotel, was very disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
