The main selling point of this hotel is its central location... very close to Clarke Quay, adjacent to the MRT station exit B. It's convenient to walk along the Singapore River, visit the Colonial district and go to Chinatown. There also is a shopping Mall right across the street. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. I would recommend the […] business advantage package for this hotel, it's a bit pricier but it includes complimentary (wired) internet. Wifi, however, is available for a surcharge and can be quite costly. The amenities were typical of a 4-star hotel. For sure, the hotel was nothing too pretty, I personally found the contemporary "Swiss" design of the rooms a bit odd and slightly tired. Likewise, while the service is certainly professional, it's nothing special either. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this hotel for its ideal location and solid standards. Read more

check in took very long and when entered the room, only 2 small seperate beds as usual where in the room, while we clearly asked for 2 large beds for 2 adults and 2 young children! it took again 1 hour to arrange this. Bad price quality ratio

The Merchant court Swissotel is my fav hotel in all of Singapore. Its always clean, in a great location for both young professionals through to famalies. Via expedia you can always find a deal (no not a cash for comment). Not much you can say, its not a budget hotel so you kind of know what your getting unlike a few other 4star places up the road. One […] recomendation, forgot the taxi's, simply grab A backpack and a daily travel pass, and get lost in Singapore. Hit then Chinese markets up smith street (short walk away towards Chinatown). When we first checked in, we were put on the 2nd floor in a room that was fine, but was right across from the pool. We were concerned about potential noise, so we asked if we could get a quieter room, and we got an immediate free upgrade to the 7th floor, which had more spacious rooms and better amenities. It was also quieter since it was not by the […] pool and was further removed from street noise. Awesome. It's also closer to the Business Executive floor, so you can get some free wifi close to the window. We were really happy about this upgrade. The Merchant Court is right next to the Clarke Quay MRT station, and also next to a mall with a small supermarket and food court -- very convenient. We also took a shuttle to the Night Safari that was only SIN$4 each way. It was great and saved us about 1 hour each way of commuting time. Read more

When I checked-in, a king bed was not available as I reserved. The staff was arrogant and unapologetic for the inconvenience. I even offered to change rooms the next day and was told that no king beds were available at all and they really didn't care as they were booked full and making a ton of money last weekend. The rooms were old, they needed updating […] and my refrigerator did not work. For the price I paid for this 4 star hotel during the Singapore Formula 1 Race weekend I was not impressed. Swissotel Merchant Court was perfectly situated by the Clarke Quay, river, restaurants, train station, shopping mall and all of the activities. Hotel was well-maintained and the service was outstanding. It is next to the river, mall, and all the good restaurants are within a couple of minutes walking distance. The hop-in hop-off city tour bus stop was […] a 5 minute walk away. There is even a 7-11 convenience store right next to the hotel. It is perfectly situated hotel in the middle of all of the activities. I would strongly recommend for anyone who is not familiar with Singapore to stay at this hotel since it is in the middle of everything. I would definitely come back to this hotel on my next trip. For the travelers that requires internet access, be sure to upgrade to the package with internet included. Otherwise, you may pay an arm and a leg for it. Read more

Not a hotel that should get FOUR star rating. more like 2-2.50 star. After complaining a room magically showed up. They changed our room and the next room was a little better but the TV was in the same odd position, could not lay in bed and watch TV.. They had two big towels, no robes, and two small face towels. The furniture was really cheap looking […] and terrible. The sink did not drain, the bath tub was very dirty, and the shower head would turn to the side when the water was increased and you would be under it and then it would shoot water at the curtains. The water spilled out the side of the bath into the hallway and I almost broke my neck. The water would never turn hot...so we took cold showers. They gave us a new room once we got the manager up in our room, but they would not even comp our first night....the last room was just ok...NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL....more like 2-2.50. If you are from the USA, please don't pay attention to star rating, because it is totally false. This hotel is more like Motel 6. Very very unimpressive lobby and just plain LOUSY. Water pressure and hot water is lacking. Sink was backing up and took a long time to drain. Tub kept standing water in it and had rust from crack/chip. For an executive room it seemed small and did not have any room for clothes other then a closet and stuff stuff into end tables. Room was nice but my view was another building. The Executive lounge staff […] was awesome and very friendly with good food and a great happy hours. The pool is very nice with a very good temperature and the gym is modern and convenient. Spa on location and the Location in Clark Quay is awesome. I would stay here again, just hope the y add a little extra to the rooms and fix the plumbing and hot water issues. I loathe hotels that try to nickel & dime their patrons and this hotel is a prime example - USD 8 for a cup of coffee and water in the room MUST be sold in pairs! All of these things just make the experience adversarial. Would not stay here again as they are ample choices in the area!

Stayed here two nights on route to Sydney. This hotel was one of the most comfortable and welcoming that i have ever stayed in. The hotel lobby and service is very good. but i got assigned a room on the 4th floor which was overlooking a wall. the room felt like a cave. Furthermore, you can't sit at the desk and work and watch TV at the same time, as the TV is a very old model and can't be turned inside the cabinet. Beautiful Hotel with First Class Service. We opted for a room upgrade with a balcony overlooking the river at Clarke Key. It was a giant room with its own corridor, enormous bathroom and a great view. It is perfectly positioned with an adjoining Shopping Mall, an MRT Station nearby and a leisurely waly to Chinatown..... Excellent Choice

Having stayed at the Swissotel Merchant Court previously, I was again looking forward to my stay - the hotel is in a great location. Upon arrival very late at night and following unpacking my case, I used the bathroom only to find the toilet had been used by someone else and not flushed. I then wondered whether the room had been cleaned following a […] late checkout perhaps? Mentioning this to staff the following morning, they did not seem to care. Two days later I received a patronising letter from the Duty Manager, who also did not care. Not a very good impression from a highly rated and respected hotel. A minor incident, but one that dampened an enjoyable visit to Singapore. Read more
