Very comfortable hotel in a great location in central Charlotte. Very close to a number of good restaurants and some of the best stores in Charlotte... The beds are very comfortable and the service was above average as well. I will definitely be back on my next overnight trip to Charlotte.

Very nice hotel, lots of extras like a big exercise room and a small, outdoor swimming pool. But this place is expensive and the extras don't mean much if you don't have time to use them.

Everything was really nice, including the price. Polite. Clean. Friendly. Helpful. The ONLY thing I would state that was not a 5 rating was that our room smelled musty. Not awful or horrible. Just musty. I also wish there was a sink IN the bathroom as well as the one outside of the bathroom. Everything was nice, and we would certainly stay again.

Concierge promised transportation to and FROM location with-in Charlotte, could not get hotel's transportation service to answer for pick-up from venue , nor could we get hotel to do anything about it (ended up waiting quite a while for cab) . Other than that the stay was pleasant.

The Southpark Marriott is definitely not up to Marriott standards. Personnel at the front desk seem disorganized. Entire hotel is scented through the HVAC system with an air freshener that smells strongly of cheap perfume. If that didn't small bad enough, the first two room we tried had such a powerful mold smell that we asked to be moved, finally settling […] in a fifth floor room that smelled more of food than mold. The cleanliness of the room was not great - a layer of dust present on the shelf in the bathroom, beds sloppily made, crumbs on the floor next to the bed. There were breakfast trays still in the hall at 4:30 pm. Apparently, the cleaning staff was lean because we waited in the lobby with a number of other guests for a standard room after the 4:00 check-in time. All in all, this hotel must have bad management and feels like a hotel in decline. Read more

We ordered hot toddies at the bar and the bartender recommended their infused bourbon. It was ambrosia! He introduced us to the gentleman who made it and he shared the recipe with us. Southern hospitality!

Excellent location. Anything anyone could need is within walking distance of the hotel. Really no need to pack a lot of clothes. Shopping surrounding the hotel is incredible. The restaurant staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the food at the breakfast bar was exceptional in quality and quantify alike. The room was nice but not particularly roomy and the TV didn't work. In all fairness, I arrived at the hotel past midnight and did not have the heart to see if anyone could fix it. No complaints about the hotel. The staff was very friendly & the accmodations were great. There were plenty of restaurants close by. My only complaint would be that it was not convenient to either I-85 or I-77. We had to drive 10 minutes of side streets to get to either interstate.

This was a beautiful hotel with friendly staff. For the fragrance-sensitive, there was a lot of fragrance lingering throughout the hotel lobby and common area. The room was beautiful and clean. The only reason I gave a reduced rating on comfort was the loud A/C fan. My biggest complaint of all was that I had to pay extra for wifi -- who does that these […] days??? The room was nice and the staff very helpful and friendly. We purchased the room including breakfast, it was worth the price. The surrounding the hotel was nice. The hotel was near the South Park Mall. We went the same weekend the flood came to the area and cause the roof to give way at the mall. Luckily we had gone to the mall the night before and […] was in Concord Mills during this time. The hotel was great but the walls and door into the hall was paper thin. If other guest had not been extremely loud in the hall at 12 pm, the noise level in the room would have not been a problem. The air system made a strange noise when it shut off. We had an excellent night there...the hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful, especially Floyd. Our dinner at the restaurant he suggested was wonderful, and we hope he enjoyed the dessert we brought him. Hotel staff was great, but hotel itself was aging. Our room smelled musty, and shower did not work at first. The staff was quick to respond and very nice. Being in the heart of downtown, I would recommend more to businessmen than families. Again, overall stay was very good, room was clean, and staff was nice.
