After staying at Beaches Bascobel for 4 nights, we chose to stay our last night at the Hilton to be closer to the airport. We had hoped to find a hotel that offered similar activities for the kids and thought the Rose Hall Hilton would fit the bill. Upon arrival, we headed to the water park only to find more people than the amount of tubes to be provided. People would be sitting at the bar eating and drinking with tubes stacked on the side of the pool behind them. When we asked an employee where we could get tubes and were told to ask someone. As stupid as this sounds, we did, and received the expected response of "No". Since we were staying only 1 night, we opted not to get the all-inclusive package and was shocked to see the prices at the buffet restaurant (all other restaurants required elegant attire and were booked). Although I was only with my son, we traveled with my sister and her family of 6, so a $200 dinner bill was a bit steep, especially when a few of the kids were very light eaters. After explaining the situation to the manager, they were kind enough to offer my sister a discount for their meal. While the grounds were nice and the beach decent, the attitude of the employees around the water park to ensure guests had an equal chance to use it was a huge disappointment. It left me thinking that a later flight time and an additional night at Beaches Bascobel would have been better.

The service was fantastic, especially the concierge. My family is Jamaican, and I greatly appreciated the warm welcome to my mother's country; everyone was affable and friendly. In this all-inclusive hotel, travel off-site got expensive, but the food and beautiful beach at the hotel can definitely hold your attention for a few days without needing to leave. I did not have an all inclusive stay, but still found things reasonable. Non-motorized water sports and many other amenities were included without paying the all-inclusive price. I would definitely stay here again.

Although we had an incident with our bathroom not being up to proper cleanliness, this matter was addressed imediately, to our satifaction, from head of concierge to head of housekeeping. The food is better than Sandals grand, and the grounds are beautiful. We did not play the golf course, it was impressive and well maintained. I would stay here again.

We opted to make a deal with a shuttle driver (Robert) who took us to a few really good restaurants and showed us the sights that we would not have seen on any tour. He even took us to Margaritaville and waited there for us then took us back to the hotel. He did this at the restaurants too! I would recommend this hotel 100%.

This past stay was after an absence of 7 years and I was most pleased with what greeted me. The upgrade was fabulous and exceeded my expectations. The lobby is hip and modern and our accommodations were equally hip and modern, exactly the type of room I would like when traveling anywhere in the U.S. Most times when traveling to Jamaica my first thoughts for accommodations would be a villa resort right outside Montego Bay going towards Negril, but not anymore. The only thing I would like to see different is the ability to be able to order off the menu in the casual restaurant for those guests who do not purchase a meal plan.

The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. For some reason one of the restaurants was closed which left only one choice. We opted to go Margerite's and were pleasantly surprised ... very good food. And they shuttle you back and forth so you don't have to worry about transportation. If you opt not to do all inclusive the drinks are extremely expensive. The adult club was full of kids playing pool and they never did have any entertainsment in there. Not a lot of water sports ... just windsurfers or banana boat rides. I would recommend this hotel if you want relaxation and not a lot of action.

I was really impressed with the property when I first arrived. The staff was extremely courteous and very accommodating. I checked in around 11 pm due to a delayed flight. Although all of the on-site restaurants were already closed for the night, the hotel still made provisions for us to get sandwiches from one of their restaurants. The room was well appointed and very clean. The view was not so great as it looked out over a rooftop that apparently is being renovated to become a deck (room located on the 4th floor). But, despite that I still enjoyed my stay tremendously. The casual dining restaurants offer fresh meals with plenty of variety. And, some standard Jamaican fare is offered. Meals at the resort can get pricey if you don't get the all-inclusive package. I rented a car and headed down to the Hip Strip just a few miles away and ate dinner at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. (You drive on the left in Jamaica.) Before you leave, you've got to experience the amusement park-style slide at the pool. It's great! I would certainly recommend this hotel to others. And, I am planning my next trip back in a few months.

I'm a beach bum and I found the beach to be pretty tiny at the resort, but since it was not crowded at the time, it was peaceful. I would go here again in a hearbeat.

Dinner buffet for 4 (3 children) was 140.00! Breafast was 23.00 per person. Lesson learned. The second complaint, which was a big deal to me was the entertainment. They had the worst singers ever! They sang old outdated music and it seemed like they were at work when they sang. Just awful. I looked forward to Karaoke in the bar, and unfortunately, they had and old broken down system. The sound was muffled (busted speakers, my guess), microphone screeched all night and the CD's constantly skipped.. Just awful. The good part is the hotel was clean beautiful, the staff was friendly and the food was pretty good.

Comfortable, clean and beatifully decorated hotel. It is not your typical "all inclusive" since there are extra fees. We couldn't even get a reservation at either of the "reservation required" restaurants, but were advised that there were supplemental fees. For New Years Eve, it would have been $45 per person for dinner... Then when you check in there is the $70 per day per child fee payable on check-in. We were only there for 3 nights, but the man in front of me was not happy paying for 2 kids for 14 nights! $140 x 14 nights? Have we not paid enough for this hotel in the first place? Other than the charges, the Fresh restaurant was wonderful with so much selection and delicious food. The beach is nice (no comparison to Negril) but you have to get up early to find a chair that doesn't have a towel on it... and many chairs stayed empty all day, which is a pet peeve of mine! The rooms were beautiful, and so was the view, but in general, not a very mellow clientele at this hotel. You're on vacation people... be patient - the pace in Jamaica is much slower and that's OK! I wouldn't go back to this hotel mainly because of the beach and we are not fans of the waste associated with all-inclusive resorts. We will be returning to Jamaica - in Negril where the pace is slower and the vacationing people are happy with the relaxed pace and lifestyle.
