- I don't regret staying at the HIlton BUT we won't be going back. The Facility was clean, my room was very clean (we had a wonderful cleaning lady), towel service was easy and everything at the facility was kept in good shape. But during our stay portions of the hotel outside floors were being worked on forcing sidewalk closures which was pretty annoying. […] The pools were very nice (except the hot tub which was either very cold or boiling hot :(, but the water slides were a kids dream)... I found the majority of the staff to be unfriendly (there were a few that were the exception... our cleaning lady Terry, the cabana boy Sheldon, and the Kids Club Staff Ms. Jean and Ms. Marcia were spectacular), the food was AWFUL... the entertainment and activities were lacking and run by generally unmotivated staff, and the extremely loud music outside of my window every night kept my better half awake for hours. The beach was extremely small and there were not enough seats at the pool (the first day we had to keep our stuff at a restaurant table chair) or the beach... and be careful of the shady characters at the edge of the beach. My family of four including two children, ages 5 and 8 visited the Hilton Rose Hall over Spring Break, 2013. We had a great time. The water slide provided hours of fun for everyone. The Kids' Club was a nice break for the kids to get them out of the sun and doing crafts and games. My children enjoyed the kids club, but do not expect it to be a one-stop […] child care solution. You must pick the children up for lunch, and it only lasts until 5:00. The activities are mostly indoors in a small but comfortable room. The children do not go to a pool or the beach during kids club. Each day, special crafts are offered for a small extra fee (ex. bracelet making, t-shirts painting, etc.). Expect to get up early if you want a beach or pool chair in a prime position like shaded at the beach, or front row at the pool. There are three night time restaurant options other than the buffet. Reserve on the first day if you are interested, reservations at prime times are hard to come by. The buffet is very good, fresh fruits and vegetables, good salads, great fresh cooking stations like the stir-fry and omelet bar. The convenience foods like chicken nuggets, hamburgers and hotdogs are not that great, so stick to the real food. Read more

One coke and one Fresca and two bottled waters in the compact refrigerator and not any diet drinks available except at the fountain machines. Light bulbs missing in lamps. While the staff for the most part were exceptional, I must say that the male waiters, busboys, etc give undue, if not downright lewd advances toward the female guests. Perhaps this is the norm in the Caribbean, but is not acceptable in the rest of the civilized world. They should be taught to reign in their hormones, if only for a little while.

Arrived at noon on Friday for a weekend stay. Check-in is 4 and was told there weren't any rooms with king beds. They offered a room with two queens, but we declined. But I suppose I was on vacation in Jamaica, what's the difference if there's no free internet. I came to Jamaica prepared for slow island service. Was I surprised! The longest wait I experienced was at the bar the first day. There were 5 guests ordering at once and only 1 bartender. However, lunch service at the Sunset Grill was amazing. The food arrived too quickly, if that's possible. The staff was so attentive to our every need, and were always accommodating to changes and or special requests. The food quality was exactly as expected. Nothing I had to eat was amazing, but nothing was bad. The breakfast buffet was good, but towards the end of breakfast the supplies of things began to run out. But the staff was still helpful. All staff treated us like kings. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice clean hotel with great service. Definitely worth the price paid considering the availability of food and drink nearly all day long. We were a little disappointed at first that the Luna restaurant was closed for our entire stay, but Fresh and 3 Palms were so good that they more than made up for it.

The beaches are beautiful! That is the one positive note! The staff at this resort was very slow and you almost always had to leave your seat to get a drink. If there was a waiter/waitress they were so slow it took forever and you were better off getting the drink yourself. The top shelf liquor was Jim Beam and Smirnoff? There is only one bar open after 7p.m. which was very frustrating. Everywhere you went for anything was a very long wait. The staff appeared to be lazy and I even attempted heavy tipping which didnt seem to help at all. The hotel is very old and the upkeep is mediocre at best. I will not go back to this resort nor would i recommend it to anyone. The photos available are very deceptive and make this resort appear extravagant. The only place a television is available outside of your room is at the bar upstairs and there are only four there.
