"Nice room but a bit uncomfortable room temperature"
Nice clean room equipped with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and blow-dryer. Cooling system was not adequate. Not able to cool room below 65-70 for personal comfort.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I know it's an "express" but I would've liked more food options, delivery wise. It's completely isolated if you are not driving.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great choice for the money"
we stayed 1 night and were very pleased. Room was clean, service was fantastic and breakfast was more than expected. Bathroom was clean, but in need of minor repairs. door let in more noise than expected, but over all we were very happy and would stay again in a heartbeat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Will Stay Again"
We have stayed at this hotel several times while visiting family in Southington, and I'm sure we will stay here again next time we visit. It's a decent, standard Holiday Inn Express. Also, the front desk and breakfast workers were very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very comfortable beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were very pleased with our room, but we had driven all night and arrived several hours early so we were given our room 4 hours early! We actually had time for a nap before our event.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Holiday Inn Express in Southington, CT, was very convenient to Farmington UConn Medical Center, where we were headed very early the next morning. Very friendly at the front desk. Thank you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a bit noisy. We were on the side of a hwy...plus the air conditioner above us dripped in the middle of the night and it kept me awake...it hit our air unit. The staff was nice and the hotel was very neat & clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very satisfied for one day stay"
Convenient for its location for my business meeting and provided more than adequate breakfast. Didn't mind very faint old water smell from the shower curtain.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lighting low, outlets few, cramped, no wake-ups"
Room lighting was very poor. Insufficient number of outlets, so difficult to plug in computer, telephone rechargers, iPad, etc. Had a corner room that was so small it was impossible to roll the luggage cart in to load or unload luggage. Requested wake-up calls for two mornings, but NEITHER call was ever received. Manager on duty was receptive to these […] comments, but that did not change the problems. Complementary breakfast was excellent with wide variety of fresh offerings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Friendly staff, clean comfortable room. Not luxurious, but very nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"One night stay"
Very convenient location. Second time we have stayed at this location and have been happy both times. Service at the desk is always quick and courteous. I was on my way to a wedding ceremony this time and needed bandaids and the front desk personnel was very helpful and personable. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I liked this hotel a lot. Clean, neat, nice people, quiet, regular holiday inn breakfast, soft pillows, good internet, nice TV picture, refrigerator, happy staff, easy parking and what more do I need to say. I would return anytime.

What an amazing place. Check in was easy. Our room was ready and very clean. Hotel was very busy with a wedding party and a girls softball team staying there as well. You would have never known except for the huge crowd having breakfast on Sunday morning. What a selection-cold cereal, oatmeal, very fresh fruit, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, sausage..... (you get the idea). It was very busy but being well managed and stocked by a wonderful lady, Firdoze. Well stocked room with a hairdryer, iron and iron board being very appreciated by my mother.Check out on Monday was great as well. Overall great place at a great price. Only one suggestion for the hotel-having an automatic opening door to lobby from outside would be great. It was not easy for my handicapped mother to get in and out.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights and it was fantastic. The services was everything you expected from a 5* hotel. Check in was quick Becky and all of the receptionist, Mario the housekeeping and others was very professional, courteous and friendly. What a nice welcome, Awesone-room, view, food and the pool and surrounding areas were well kept. WOH! This hotel is magnificent and I would definitely recommend staying here. "Very Nice Place to Stay!"

I was very impressed with this HI Express location. Check in was perfect, nice clean room with electric outlets available. Pool was clean, pool towels available, workout room was nice too! I would stay here again! Oh and this has to have one of the nicest breakfast for free that I have ever had. The young lady that was responsible for this area deserves a raise!!!
"average hotel in need of updating"

This hotel had a better bed than our previous HI express. Breakfast was also better. Room interior was from the 60's. Location was good with several choices for restaurants nearby. Room was clean but lighting was not good.
"Another Great Visit with Holiday Inn Express"
06/13/14 Brett S Lee's Summit, Missouri
'My second trip to Southington while leading a 2-day engineering seminar. HIE provided both my sleeping accomodation and classroom. While the hotel is a little older, it is very clean and well maintained. I saw several renovation projects (lobby LED lighting & outdoor swimming pool) about to be completed. A very polished and professional staff: Rosemary, Kisha, and Jacob at the front desk and Christina (Cissy) providing breakfast and supporting my classroom. 'Very good location just off I-84 with ample choices when it comes to restaurants. I would be happy to visit the Southington Holiday Inn Express in the future. 'Best wishes for your continued success.

I have stayed several times for multiples days in the past year. I have always been made to feel welcomed back. I travel extensively and truly enjoyed joking with Kym and Firedoze during my stays. Both are always working hard to make the experience a joy. The rooms are comfortable and it is close to the interstate so very easy to get in and out. Traded restaurant options with Kym and found some new places to try. I am from the midwest and enjoyed the frequent seafood options in the area.
"Well run hotel"

Stayed here twice. Staff is friendly and helpful, hotel clean and well maintained. Guest laundry is reasonably priced ($1 ea., though larger loads will take a 2nd dry cycle). The three outlet/2 USB plug fixture next to bed is a stroke of genius.

Very clean. Very handy. Nicest staff I've met in a long time. Way above average for your "Express" experience. Totally filled the bill of a great place to sleep, have breakfast, go! We've stayed at similar places at similar prices, and this was better.

We stayed for 3 nights for some family business. Booked through Priceline for $60/night. I would be fuming if I had paid more. This hotel is okay at best. Very close to 84, and Southington area is close to a lot of the places we needed to go. This building is very old. They have remodeled at some point but it is mainly cosmetic. First off, the walls are thin. It's a good thing that it was fairly quiet in the halls during our stay. The front lobby area is small and cramped. The cookies and coffee are a good idea if they were actually worth eating or drinking. The room was just okay. We were on the first floor and had to keep the shades drawn as the parking lot is right outside the window. It felt like a cave. There is no closet. Just a small wardrobe. That and the other furniture looks like it came from Wal Mart. It was in good condition though. The Bed and pillows were very nice. One of my pet peeves is that hotels don't use king size pillows on king size beds but this was the exception. Also liked that they had both soft and firm pillows. The actual sleeping part of the room was very nice. That is the main reason I am giving this a 3/5. The bathroom is another story. In desperate need of an update. And a plumber. It is surface clean but there is grime imbedded in the jets for the tub. I don't even know why a hotel would put that in a standard room in the first place. The spout in the tub leaks unless you jam the handle really tight. That is an easy fix so I don't get why it hasn't been done. The wallpaper in the bathroom is peeling at the seams which is probably due to there not being an exhaust fan. The staff seemed pleasant enough. Our key cards stopped working every day and we had to get new ones. One staff member didn't want to give one to my husband because he wasn't listed on the reservation. Breakfast was complimentary but I sure wouldn't pay for it. Hot bar but limited selection. The cinnamon buns were good though. The orange juice was yellow as it was some shoddy concentrate. If you need cheap and are okay with a 2 star hotel this will meet your needs for a couple of days. If you need Southington I would recommend the Residence Inn which is just the next exit down on 84. We stayed there for a month last year and it was phenomenal.
