"a special trip with my family"

i came to zurich for a job interview and brought my family along with me. It was their 1st trip to zurich although i've lived there before. It was therefore critical that my family enjoyed their stay as we may be moving to the city and first impressions count! Im really glad we stayed the Ambassador. The location of the hotel is fantastic.right behind bellvue, great for a citybreak and useful as near to stadelhofen station (go straight here from airport, save transiting bags and getting an expensive taxi midway from Zurich HB station). The hotel is classically styled, small and intimate, our room was spacious, airy and spotlessly clean. We had free high quality wifi in the room (i could stream netflix on my ipad), the nespresso machine had a number of capsules (often hotels skimp on this and ration you to 1 or 2) and super beds. the bathroom contained a bath with shower conversion and a good quality glass door so no horrible shower curtains or wet floors. the toddler cot with the snoopy bedding that my 3 year old daughter wouldn't get out of (she wont get into our travel cot..), a leaving bag for her with a sticker book in it (again a win for our mid trip visit to Flims in the alps) and lots of lovely fruit at reception. The hotel is an excellent 4 star and in my opinion the service that Stephanie and her colleagues gave us upgraded us to a 5 star experience. Service is everything and nothing was too much trouble: Stephanie gave us directions, looked after our bags while away, arranged taxis, her colleague Stephen called the swiss german housekeeper of our ski chalet to agree where and when we'd meet her to pick up the keys - a real lifesaver. I will certainly return to this hotel and would recommend it to my parents - the best compliment i can give a hotel.
"pleasant in any aspect"

I like the area around Bellevue...it's easy to reach from the airport (just take the to Stadelhofen),you are central but close to the lake (walking distance) and to "old Zurich", the tram station at Bellevue brings you almost everywhere in the city...the atmosphere is very nice, service is excellent, food is good, rooms are not too small, great roof terrace (!!) and the "Bahnhofstrasse" is just two tram stations away...what else do you need being in Zürich? ;)

I stayed here for a night just before Christmas and was very impressed with this beautiful hotel. The location was great, easy to get to from the airport as it is really close to a train station and it's a short pleasant walk into the city centre. The hotel is clean and presented beautifully. However what I liked most about this hotel was how friendly and accommodating all the staff were. Would definitely stay here again if I ever found myself back in Zurich.

Since I had to stay in a hotel at Christmas, I decided to splurge a little and find a nice one. Not over-the-top, but better than a 'bargain' (hard to find in Zurich anyway). This one was absolutely perfect. Not only was the room itself just what I had in mind -- the staff did so many small things that made me feel appreciated, from the chocolate on the nightstand to the orange on the table to the card and free champagne on Christmas Eve. So many small things...the way I was greeted (not with "Merry Christmas" but with warmth -- good of them not to assume I was celebrating!), the careful way my things were left where I wanted them but the room was spotlessly cleaned anyway, the check list where I could list my pillow preference (eight different kinds!) and whether I wanted the shades drawn. The lighting was lovely. The location couldn't be better -- across the street from the opera and a brief walk to several different streetcar stops. I'll talk about the restaurant in a separate review, but it was amazing. I think I have found my go-to hotel for Zurich.
"Great location in the old town"
Stayed in Hotel Ambassador for 2 nights earlier, loved the location and the charming little hotel. It's very friendly and cosy, had everything taken care of. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Great location! 1 min walk from nearest tram station, 3 mins walk from train station directly from airport.
"Classy old style hotel!"
Is a classy, nicely furnished hotel. Located close to the center, but still a few minutes walk from the busy streets. Well-trained staff, pleasant atmosphere. I would recommend it to everybody who appreciates the old-style quality standards.
"Lovely Hotel in Excellent Location"

First time in Zurich and picked this hotel partly because of good reviews. Very easy to get to from the airport thanks to excellent Swiss transport - we bought 72 hour travel cards (cost around £ 32 each) which got us to and from airport, plus free transport around Zurich during our stay (including an excellent 1 and a half hour boat trip on Lake Zurich. Hotel is in an excellent location - close to the lake, but also close to shopping, dining etc. Room was very nice - we kept the windows closed and this kept out all the noise, though to be fair it's not really a noisy area. We had breakfast in the hotel both mornings - a little bit overpriced, but food was plentiful and tasty - we also enjoyed the free Prossecco with breakfast. Bed was extremely comfortable with a choice of pillows, though we found the ones supplied were fine. Free internet worked very well and was reasonably fast, though we were only using it for leisure purposes Staff very friendly, and everywhere we went English was spoken (puts us to shame). My wife and I both enjoyed the whole trip, and would definitely stay here again if we return.
"True 4 star"

The hotel was what I expected from four star hotel in Zurich. Well organized, absolutely clean, practically equipped and with professional and very nice staff. No surprises in this. Location is great, both for business and tourist’s visitors. For both flying in and arriving to Zurich by train I recommend S-bahn, goes from the airport through Main Station every 20 mins I believe and takes 18 mins, costs CHF 6.60 pp and is in fact faster than any other transportation. All you need is to walk few hundred meters from the local station to the hotel. I asked for quiet room and the one I got was very quiet indeed, no noise from AC units or smell from the restaurant, the inner yard view was also OK, although limited of course. I like all those small details as welcome glass of champagne, chocolate and apple accompanied with personal note in room. On technical side - easy and fast internet access through all hotel. Price to performance ratio was OK in my case, considering the low season rate I paid.
"You would have to be a very difficult person to not like the Ambassador"
10/16/14 Elizabeth R Springboro, Ohio
If you are like me, as I read reviews on trip advisor I am always trying to discern if the poor reviews are written by people like me or the kind of people who are perpetually dissatisfied. The Ambassador Hotel is a lovely hotel in Zurich, well priced, excellent breakfast, great location and the staff is friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and adjustable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Do not hesitate to book this 4 star hotel.
"One of our best stays"

Amazing hotel, room, view, staff! This quaint and cozy hotel was absolutely amazing. We only had one night in Zurich and wished we had more. Our room was small, yet extremely cozy and did not feel cramped in the least. The location could not be better and the staff was more then helpful. Cannot wait to stay here again!
