"Nice hotel!"
Very quiet, clean rooms. Very helpful staff. My only concern (and its a mild niggle) was that the room was clearly booked for 3 guests, but the towels/glasses etc were provided for 2. While the hotel rushed to get us extra glasses when asked, it would have been nice if they also provided extra glasses the following day instead of room service removing them. Same for towels. Parking was expensive (as always in central DC) - I thought parking was included in my room rate, but at check-out I had to pay for another day. Otherwise, it was a very nice hotel.

"Good location and hotel, but awkward staff."
The location was good. The staff seemed a little rude and unprepared. The day of the check out, before the checkout time, they started knocking on the doors and asking if we used anything from the bar... I mean, their check in time for the next guests is 4PM. They could've waited till people left the room. According to me, that was highly rude and unprofessional. The check in was a little time consuming because their system was a little messed up. Make sure you know that the difference between the Luxury Room and the regular room isn't much. I paid extra, but didn't see that much of a difference. The beds weren't plush like usually most hotels have.

"Great service and a very reasonable price."
What a wonderful surprise we found in this hotel! My husband took me to DC for my birthday, and this hotel turned out to be a fantastic part of my birthday. The staff were all very friendly and upon learning that we were celebrating, the concierge, Innocent, surprised us with complimentary cocktail coupons! Our room was very comfortable and clean, with a wonderfully modern yet classic appeal. We were withing walking distance to the White House, as well as numerous restaurants. I would absolutely stay here again.

"ok location"
I was disappointed in the mattress quality and bedding. It was hard, uncomfortable, and sheets were rough. Air conditioning had to be on very cold so room didn't smell musty. Could not use business area computers to print boarding passes unless you swiped a credit card.

"Very pleasant stay in DC"
I spent one night here recently while in DC visiting my son who is at a DC college. The room was very nice and the staff were wonderful. I got a great rate from hotels.com that included parking (which is valet parking). A Pete's is right across the street from the hotel's main entrance for coffee and a simple breakfast.

"Dorm Room Comfort Mattresses"
This was one of the worst 4 star hotels I have ever stayed at, and I wonder how they got this rating. The beds were HORRIBLY uncomfortable, you could feel the springs, they were not pillow top they felt like dorm room mattresses. The shower had noticeable rust/mold stains, I ordered room service the silverware came up dirty. I don't know what would possess anyone to stay here. I was not he 12th floor so the location / view is nice but other then that save your money stay at the marriott down the street.

"Mixed Bag -- terrible towels and no housekeeping o"
I am not sure how this hotel with its renovations etc. can a. not have coffee makers in the room -- you have to go to the lobby to get free coffee. b. have towels that are on par with Motel 6 c. have no housekeeping (they didnt expect full occupancy one night due to airport problems) -- havent they heard of an emergency or contingency plan for such.

"The hotel was not on par with others in the area"
Overall I would rate the hotel stay a 3. I travel a lot for work and I have to say I was disappointed in the service at the hotel. The rooms inside seemed to be cleaned well, however we noticed that there were may room service trays left out for extended periods of time, lack of attention to detail regarding the hallways and overall the service was not on par with other Lowes properties I have stayed at in the past. We also had a bad experience trying to order room service, where multiple things on the menu were not available and eventually we had to go downstairs to talk to someone to order dinner for our room. Not the best experience.

"DC trip"
I choose the pre-paid option and additional charge via hotel.com to have a guarantee double beds room. When arrived 1 AM in the morning, been told that hotel is sold out and ended up with one king for family of four. When booking we knew that hotel does offer microwave but after checking they said NO Next morning we asked again and they said don't have it. After 4 days staying there during checkout they ask how was my staying I said I need microwave for the baby and your hotel doesn't offer. The staff said it is not True we have them available. "Nice hotel not too far from everything"
The hotel was Nice enough and it was conveniently located; not too far from the White House. Nothing about it impressed me but also nothing bothered me either. The beds were comfortable and I guess that was what we were looking for. We had interior rooms and thus there was no view whatsoever.

"Nice hotel and in a good location"
The hotel is very pretty and has a Starbucks in the lobby which is a plus! The room was very nice! My only complaints were the front desk was always busy and when we tried to get late check out they tried to charge us another night.

"Very good hotel. Convenient to everything."
Would have rated excellent, however, our room did not have the number of sets of towels that was needed. I recommend that for their doubles that would sleep up to 4 people, that 4 sets of towels be automatically put in place. When checking out, getting a bellman to assist with our luggage was slow. I had to go to the front desk to get assistance after my phone call did not get the assistance needed.

"Family Weekend Getaway"
My family went to DC for a long weekend getaway. It was our first time there and we had a great time. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The room was not as exciting as some of the pictures of the suites but it was overall a nice room. One of the best parts of our stay was breakfast at the hotel restaurant. I highly recommend eating there at least once. There aren't a lot of exciting dinner options in close proximity to the hotel but U Street had a nice restaurant called Ted's Bulletin that's great for families.

"Not worth the price"
Booked this hotel because of the location.. That was probably the only good thing about it. They charge you a $100 deposit EVERY day you stay, which is excessive in my opinion because we didn't even use room service or the mini bar. I don't know where the 4.5 stars are. You have to pay for everything on your own and there isn't even a coffee maker in the room. Part of booking a luxury hotel, is expecting to get everything for free. Like a microwave, fridge, and valet that doesn't cost 60$ a day. Sticking with the usual hotels in the future, I would not stay at another Loews.

I booked this hotel through Hotels.com for 5 nights. On arrival, I realized that I realized that I was booked only for 4 nights. On explaining, the manager came immediately and moved us to a nice hotel with transportation for one night and brought us back to Loews Madison. On arrival, they provided us with a beautiful fruit tray with an apology note. The manager was very kind and nice. We loved our stay.

The hotel was wonderful overall. Perfect location for sightseeing. We had a few complaints. It took an hour and a half to get a bucket of ice from room service. We requested a microwave on our reservation and at check in and never received it. There is no coffee pot in the room and they only offer complimentary coffee from 5 am to 7 am and then you must order room service. We went down at 6 one morning and the coffee wasn't out yet. When they brought it out there were a lot of grounds in the coffee.

"Chic hotel."
Beautiful decor- very chic hotel. Found the bed quite hard. Good location however had to walk to the Big Bus Stop a few blocks away.

"Great Place"
Very nice place! Great location and very close to all of the monuments. No pool. Small workout room. The staff were fantastic. Everything was a la carte. No fridge, microwave or coffee pot in the room. You could pay extra if you wanted any of that. Great coffee shop across the street (Bean and Bite). Good food and friendly. Better than peets next door!

"Very good hotel."
Got a great deal on this hotel when we added it to our flight. We are a young couple in our mid 20s and were able to walk to practically everything we wanted to see. The McPherson train station is also very close and we took the train to the airport when we left which was a cool experience and also much much cheaper and faster than a cab or Uber.

"Great hotel close to the White House"
Had a very enjoyable time at the Loews Madison for a long weekend. We took an early flight into Reagan and arrived at the hotel about 12 pm. We originally intended just to have the hotel hold our bags but, we were able to check in early which was extremely nice. The room itself was very clean and stylishly furnished with historic wallpaper and paintings. The A/C worked well but, was a little on the loud side as others have mentioned. Neither my girlfriend or I had trouble sleeping with it, but if you're a extremely light sleeper I would take that into account. All the staff were extremely helpful and courteous, allowing us to check in early and answering any questions we had. There's a Starbucks onsite which was big plus with the girlfriend. We dined at the onsite restaurant, Rural Society, twice for breakfast and once for dinner. Breakfast was very good, with a mixture of classic fare and Argentinian themed dishes. Little on the pricey side for breakfast $40-$60 for the two of us but, it was good. Dinner was also good, I would recommend Empanada Tucumana which was excellent. The hotel is about 7 minutes walking to the McPherson Sq Metro Station which will get you to Arlington and the National Mall which was extremely convenient. Overall, we had a great time at Loews Madison and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.

"Friendly and helpful staff"
Friendly and helpful staff - we were traveling with my brother's family and had booked separately online, but they easily accommodated putting us on the same floor at check-in time. The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. We found it a bit odd that there was no ice bucket and no bathroom fan, but these were very minor. Great places to eat within walking distance, from $ to $$$. Would recommend this hotel.
