"Close to everything!"
Great stay! Clean rooms, friendly staff close to the T. Would recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice little hotel ~ simple and clean, stylish but starting to show wear...mirrors in the hall were broken, light switch in the bathroom is starting to break as are the lights above the sink and the knob for the shower. The design is very nice. They did a lot to make a very tiny bathroom work well ~ clever solutions. No desk, which is always a nice perk. […] The comforter was wrinkled, which made t look dirty. And the only chair in the room is artistic but not practical (also looked a little dirty). The staff were very friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sucks. Avoid this place at all cost."
The room was not soudproof at all and the bathroom was as tiny as it could get. Staff members weren't that friendly. The building was old and under construction.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice place not too $Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the money"
No parking on site which sucks because parking lots charge a lot. The bathroom was super tiny. The bed wasn't very comfortable. The hotel itself looks sketchy. You can hear the TV in the room next to you.Genuine Expedia guest review
"So Noisy, Sleep was not an option"
The room was tiny, The bed like a rock and the noise from the street was like the people were in my room. Could not sleep most of the night.Had a terrible time. Also had to walk about 5-7 minutes to my car. If it is snowing or really cold like that night - it was no fun (and paid $28 dollars on parking. )Was not worth the discount of about $40 over […] my preferred hotel. Will not stay there again but will be in Boston again because its a great city! "Close to Boston Commons & Transit"
It was an adorable room, we had great views, the window opened and we were grateful because the heat was cranked up too high for us. Our room was clean and sweet, and looks just like the photo when I reserved on hotels.com! We were close to coffee shops, CVS, Boston Commons! I really missed having a coffee pot, fridge and micro in the room! The front […] desk folks were helpful with transit and general questions. They were remodeling their bar/lounge! So, I missed that. I would definitely stay at the Chandler Inn again! The surrounding neighborhood is really great! Each side had a different ambiance and rhythm which I found fascinating. I will definitely stay again if I go back to Boston! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"In-town - affordable - with a small price"
This clever boutique hotel is clean with a great-helpful staff. The bar/restaurant is under renovation but dozens of places to eat are with a 6 block walk. Doing any kind of computer work will require you to do so from the bed (no desk) and the bathroom is micro sized. The pedestal sink will hold a toothbrush or a razor. I would stay again because of […] the staff, the cleanness and the location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I was very pleased with the hotel. It was clean, centrally located. The room wasn't huge, but I was traveling alone, so it was perfect.Genuine Expedia guest review
Employees were helpful and great. Decor was an odd combination of Euro-modern with drab and worn carpeting. But overall room was compact and efficient. Great location as very short walk to BackBay stateion.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Affordable and nice hotel in a great area. The hotel is walking distance from many great Boston attractions.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice, inexpensive hotel"
Close to T station, comfortable room, and not overly expensive. $99 for a night in the center of Boston. Would recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Small restroom !!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
As ever, the staff was competent and quite friendly. I think the names of the night staff were Andrew and Mark. The room was clean once again. However, during the renovations of the bar downstairs, maybe wait until after 8:30 a.m. to start running the noisy equipment.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Friendly Staff, great neighborhood"
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was just minutes away from the T. The room was smaller but very well organized and cozy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet area and easy walk to the T"
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Building is nicely updated. Rooms are on the small side but perfectly appointed, everything we needed was right there. Cozy and warm with an up to date remote controlled heat-a/c system. Area is a very short walk to the T, and there is a great breakfast spot literally "around the corner".Genuine Expedia guest review
The pictures on the Internet made the room appear larger than it was. It was quite small and there was only one plastic chair and a bed. No desk, no easy chair. Bathroom very very small. Cold at night. Location good though. Only a few blocks from downtown dining.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A new low for customer service"
How can you be rude to the people who are paying you? Mind blowing. Requested 2 queen sized beds when reserving the room, we walked into a single queen, not a big deal. When I went to ask for a change (very politely) the receptionist gave me more attitude than I thought possible. Walked into a room with two single beds, I'm 5'11" and my feet were hanging […] over the sides. Never EVER again will I stay at the chandler hotel, and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. This is the type of hotel that grows on you. Yes the rooms are small, and so is the bathroom, but they are clean, and the bed is more comfortable than at hotels that cost 3 times as much. The staff are friendly and helpful and there are 3 MBTA stations within a 5-10 minute walkGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Boutique Hotel for the Price"
Small but very nice room. Stayed for 3 nights and probably dealt with everyone on their staff at some point. All were very friendly, responsive, and helpful. Only negative was that the WiFi in my room was really slow. Other than that, excellent find.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best Deal in South End"
Nothing fancy. Just what is needed: a simple bed in good repair, a coffee machine in the lobby, a hot shower with a strong stream. The staff is helpful enough, though not the type to go over the top. The hotel is freshly redone and nicely kept.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I arrived late on a Thursday and was greeted by a nice front desk staff. As I entered the room I realized how dirty the bed was and had to move to two other rooms. "Excellent Service, Beautiful Rooms"
The hotel is beautiful and the staff was very kind and accommodating. Everything was clean and our early check in was granted without hesitation. We had three rooms and we were walking distance from the Boston Center for the Arts which made the location perfect. "Small Boutique Smart Design"
I have stayed at The Chandler Inn several times. It is conveniently located to public transportation and to friends I am visiting. The rooms are a decent size. Smartly designed and the beds are comfortable. Nice modern bathroom. This was the first time the temperature in the room was an issue. It was end of December and cold in Boston. The room had […] two temperatures. Cold or steamy hot. There was not a second blanket in the room during cold times. The other issue was the inconsistent internet. Don't count on it being there if you need to do work or plan to watch a movie on a personal device when internet is needed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great little place close to everything"
Nice people, nice room, quiet so you can sleep in. Close to everything, T trains, Boylston and Newberry Streets, 2 blocks from Amtrak Back Bay station. Really clean rooms, building is older and it was snowing like the dickens so the carpet is indoor/out door - that might turn some people off but it is pretty much a necessity.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location! Within walking distance to so much.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I booked a weekend stay at The Chandler Inn as a birthday gift to my boyfriend. We arrived very late Friday night, hungry and tired and was met by a kind and carrying person who did a quick check in and then offered us lots of advice on where to most conveniently get food that time of day. The room was charming and the smaller size just made it feel […] more like home rather than a hotel room (where from NYC!). The bathroom was cute and the towels were nice and fluffy. Excellent room keeping! The location is unbelievable. I was sure that due to the price we would have to walk quite a bit to get around but it's just a few blocks from wonderful Newbury street where you'll find all the shopping you'll need! I'm already looking at when we can go back after the holidays, we simply fell in love with this place! Thank you Chandler Inn for making our weekend getaway magical! "Will stay there again next time I'm in Boston"
The room was very small but comfortable. I don't spend much time in my room when I travel so I don't need a lot of floor space. Clock radio was an iPhone dock which I thought was a nice, convenient touch. Wall rack instead of a closet but once again I'm not moving in. I don't need a closet. I saw a reviewer complain that the bathroom door doesn't lock. […] That is true but if I'm sharing a bed with someone why do I need a lock on the bathroom? If you're looking for a very nice boutique hotel with courteous and helpful staff look no further. Walking distance to the Back Bay transit station as well as several restaurants. 7-Eleven right around the corner. Beautiful brownstone apartments all around. Go to Emilio's and try the calzones! "Well maintained, efficient hotel near the T"
This hotel was a good value for the Boston area, which tends to be pretty expensive. The room was modest in size, but very thoughtfully decorated. The amenities in the room are limited--no closet, no table and chair, no coffee maker. But they did have a coffee machine in the lobby, and the desk staff was attentive. Given the cold climate, I thought […] it would have been nice to have a heavier blanket or more blankets for the bed, but I did not request additional linen. The location is good--just a short walk to the Back Bay T station, and about 4 blocks to busy Boylston street, where there are lots of places to eat. In the area right around the hotel, there wasn't much, however, though it was pleasant enough and felt pretty safe. It was not very busy in the evenings, however, even on the weekend, so you're ally have to get your entertainment by heading up to Boylston or taking a slightly longer walk to the Theater district. Overall, I was satisfied with my visit and felt like I got a good value at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was excellent, with the lone exception that the shower needed to be hotter and with more pressure. Other than that - admittedly important - detail, everything was great. Friendly, clean, conveniently located.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very comfortable; I'd stay there again"
Pros: (1) Neighborhood is great; (2) walkable and close to a lot of venues; (3) Staff was terrific -- polite and helpful; (4) Room was small, but clean; (5) Bathroom was nicely done Cons: (1) Internet (free) was very slow; (2) the shower head didn't rotate properly (inconvenient, but not awful); (3) better control of the heat (way too hot...)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We got a good deal on this hotel so we decided to stay here. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. We spent most of our time in downtown Boston and all the sights were either a walk or a short cab ride away. The only part I didn't like about our room was that the bathroom was a bit small. Otherwise we definitely enjoyed our stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
I'll just get this out of the way after reading all the other reviews. Yes the rooms are small, but really how much space do you need? It's a place to sleep not do yoga. Other than that the location is great, staff is friendly and rooms are clean. They are nicely decorated and modern. For the price I am not sure what more you could ask for. "Cheap and convenient to Back Bay"
Room is very small and sparsely decorated, but that's what they mean by "Euro Style". Bathroom had smallest sink ever in a hotel, but it was very clean and the walkin shower very large. Despite the mini-split on the wall, any air you need during the fall/winter is from opening the window. Perfect for overnight college visit trip w 16yo son. Elevators […] came quickly and front desk staff was friendly. Good rate on overnight parking at Back Bay train station, which is 2-3 blocks away. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great service, great value, great neighborhood"
The service at the Chandler Inn was outstanding! Our corner room had 2 nice windows which was a nice plus. Rooms are small, but very clean. My biggest complaint was that the bathroom had no lock and the door was louvered! There was NO privacy whatsoever, so be sure you are traveling with someone you are very comfortable with! Water did not get as hot […] as desired for a shower, but overall we had a nice stay. I would definitely stay at the Chandler Inn again. It was nice to be in a place where service was more friendly and personal than the big chain hotels. The adjoining restaurant, Fritz's was FABULOUS! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cute Contemporary Hotel"
Such a cute, modern hotel. I consider myself picky when it comes to hotels and this met all my standards for my 1-night trip to Boston. The bedroom & bathroom were clean and contemporary..seems like a fairly new or recently renovated hotel. The room with 1 bed (which I had) is small so think it may be uncomfortable for a group of friends, but it was […] perfect for me and would also be great for a couple. It was steps away from a 7-eleven and restaurants and only a couple of blocks from the Boston Center For The Arts, which is where I needed to be. I was also able to walk to the mall from there. I would definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Noise problems and no hot water, great location."
The rooms are very small and very spartan, but clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was just big enough for one person. Our biggest problem was noise. The hotel is in a very nice, safe neighboorhood, about a 10 minute easy walk from the Back Bay orange line station. But on Friday and Saturday nights there were police cars with sirens on going […] past several times a night. There were also dogs, people arguing on the street, etc.. We were on the top 8th floor and still heard all this. The worst noise was when someone walked through the hallway opening and closing doors was several minutes early Saturday morning (~2am) and Monday morning (~7am). We can only assume it was staff. Then at 8am cleaning staff came in and started talking loudly, hooting, and laughing in the hallway. The building is very old and musty, everything echoes, and no amount of new paint and weird wallpaper will cover that up. The shower did not have hot water 2 nights out of the 3. The staff seemed to deal with the problem by resetting the water heater every time a guest called to complain. For the relatively cheap price in Boston, you can't expect luxury, but this hotel didn't even meet the basics of a good night's sleep and hot shower. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My girlfriend and I stayed a single night after a bruins game. Couldn't ask for a better view or a nicer room. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were greeted by the manager of the hotel, who was eager to help us find our way around Boston and advised us how best to see the Red Sox World Series Parade. The other two people at the front desk were also very friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Swing and a miss..."
I stayed at the Chandler hotel because all of the other big name brands were full. It didn't help that the World Series had started at Fenway the day of my arrival. Fun. Getting a cab was a headache. The hotel is an older one that has gone through a major refurbish into a boutique type of accommodation. The bedroom and bathroom are small with a modern […] and efficient design. The room is "minimalist" with no writing desk or closet. Clothes are hung on a exposed nouveau design bar. The bed was bouncy and I can see it being a problem for a couple trying to sleep. The a/c kept the room cool (my stay was in October). Overall, I didn't mind the hotel. The people were friendly. The traffic noise wasn't excessive and earplugs help. What annoyed me was the lack of hot water for one morning's shower. The boiler needed to be restarted. Overpriced and crowded restaurants are conveniently located a block or two away. I might consider staying here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was decent. The bed was uncomfortable. The room was small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Though the room was thorough and the location is ideal, I was disappointed in the stay. First there was only one elevator working and not all the staff was friendly. I had to waIt at least 5 minutes to get a staff member's attention . He was busy on the computer which I feel was unrelated to business. I asked him to call a cab and he was inconveniced. […] I asked another young lady to have my room cleaned and again it was an imposition. So in all I was disappointed though I have always been satisfied. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
