"Nice hotel for the price"
Boston hotels are really expensive, so $220/night was pretty reasonable for this hotel. Positives: - very nice service. We were able to check-in very early (9:00) and were given vouchers for the continental breakfast that day. Nice touch. - Location is pretty convenient. 10 minute walk, max, to Copley Square and the Back Bay subway station. Neighborhood […] is quiet but a short walk to downtown or Tremont St. Which has some funky little shops, theaters and restaurants. - Very nice bar/restaurant downstairs (The Trophy Room)... Maybe a bit pricy, but really high quality food and cocktails in a nice environment. Try the "Blue Ribbon" cocktail! -Very comfortable bed, good A/C and quiet neighborhood make sleeping very easy. Negatives: -It must be said, the rooms are quite small. For my wife and I just using the hotel as a place to sleep and shower for 3 days, it was fine, but it's not really a place where you can relax in the room. - The shower didn't get much hotter than lukewarm and had very low pressure at all times of the morning and evening. - There was a wet spot on the floor when we checked in. It dried and nothing seemed to be leaking so it was no big deal. Also, they let us check in at 9:00am so perhaps that had something to do with it. Overall a very pleasant experience and we'd definitely stay again if we come to Boston. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Truly Great Location"
Front desk staff were pleasant and gave me great parking tips. Easy stroll to Back bay and South End, this location is superb. Could have been fresher, cleaner but overall pretty good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Second stay; great hotel"
it is convenient, clean & just cool enough. for a small room, it is very well designed and the towels, soaps, etc. are nice quality. Good internet access. if you're looking for a local place to stay in boston, and want a very nice room as a base, this is the place!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient Hotel in Boston"
I walked all over Boston from the Hotel. The T and Bus were close by. I walked to China Town, Boston Common and Newbury shopping. The continenal breakfast was delightful at the adjoining restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Chandler had friendly & helpful staff. Rooms were fine. A great choice for our brief stay. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Easy to access city."
Perfectly nice hotel if you are interested in seeing what Boston is all about. It is just a few blocks from the Commons. If you like shopping, it is close to Copely and the Prudential Center. Boston is a very walkable city, and the Chandler Inn is clue enough to walk to everything. The staff was nice, the room was clean. The only problem we experienced […] was a cold shower on the first morning, but that isn't enough to make me think anything less of this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"I do not recommend!"
Hotel lost my identification and credit card and returned it 15 minutes later. Room is ok but bed is uncomfortable. Staff is not as friendly as I would have hoped. Too expensive for what you get.Genuine Expedia guest review
"lovely small boutique hotel"
Wifi was slow otherwise no complsints. Would definitely a tell stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved the location of this hotel and also that it wasn't another chain. However, the room and the bathroom were very small--I expected small, but it was hard to move around in. I would stay there again, but would have liked it to be a littl bit cheaper for the amount of space.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very underrated. Good neighborhood to access all the sights.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location, over priced room."
The hotel was nice and clean. The room was very small. The bathroom was extremely small and difficult to move around in. The location was nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful Renovated Hotel"
This was a great hotel! Nicely renovated. Staff was excellent, very helpful. Got us quickly connected to a cab. Nice amenities. Cool bar. Breakfast provided the next morning. Room was nicely decorated and very cool. Just the right size for 1-2 people. Great price. Would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are small but very nicely decorated and very clean. The location is good, within a few blocks of the T and walking distance to many sights. The adjacent bar/ restaurant has excellent food.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, great location & reasonably priced!"
My husband & I needed a last minute room for 1 night in Boston near the convention center and all the "name brand" hotels were $450 & up per night! We were very satisfied with the Chandler Inn! The price was right, the location was great, the rooms were super clean & very modern & they even offered a continental breakfast the next morning! As previous […] reviews mentioned, the rooms were on the smaller side, but who cares when you just need it for one night!! I would definitely recommend & would definitely stay there again! "Nice place to stay"
The Chandler Inn Hotel was reasonably close to downtown and the price was right. It was nicely updated and I'd stay there again - although I've slept on more comfortable mattresses.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Trophy Room needs Improving"
First morning of our trip we ate in the Trophy Room for the complimentary breakfast. We asked the server if there was anymore yogurt & he abruptly(borderline rudely) said no. A better response would have been let me check or at least something more courteous. Day 2 we had there brunch. I couldn't believe they served us burnt charred toast. We asked […] the server to replace it & his response was thats just the marble in the marble rye.... I told him it was burnt & he at least replaced it. Still it never should have gone out of the kitchen that way!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel, convenient location"
Very comfortable, clean, very convenient location. The staff was very friendly and hopeful. Breakfast was great. It's definitely one of the best options for a short stay in the Boston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for a light traveler"
Accommodations are small, but very thoughtfully appointed and clean. A great hotel in terms of location, rates, amenities, staff. Efficient use of space in the hotel room, but tight. Best for a short stay or light traveler.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
room was VERY tiny and dirty, front desk staff very nice and helpful, good locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, quaint hotel, European ambiance"
The Chandler Inn was very much like hotels in which I have stayed in Europe. The room was functional, the amenities were descent, the air conditioning (a must when the temperature AND humidity are both over 90) was working. The bed was comfortable, but the desk was difficult to work at for any extended period of time. It was very nice that the Trophy […] Room restaurant has opened on the ground floor, as grabbing a quick bite was far more convenient than it would have been with no restaurant on site. Parking was interesting - several blocks away - but seemed to be pretty secure (my rental car was there for 36 hours with no issues). Overall, a good location, great staff, and rooms that were as expected - a good value for the money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel but a bit pricey for what it is. Bathrooms are extremely small and so are all the hallways in the corridor. However nice historic building.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and in a nice neighborhood"
Enjoyed our stay. The lack of an enclosed closet is odd, but otherwise the room was small but perfectly pleasant and clean, and people at the desk very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location in South Boston"
Small room and smaller bathroom, but well furnished. Located in a very nice, mainly residential area that is convenient (walkable) to many businesses and restaurants. Recommended for business travelers and couples. The rooms would be too small for families.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Boutique hotel with friendly staff"
Our flight delayed and we checked in after midnight but the staff was very friendly and was able to assist promptly in house keeping needs for extra amenities. The room itself seemed like rerenovated as it was very much like a contemporary boutique hotel. We had to extend one more night but the Inn was full and the staff was very helpful in giving us […] a list of other hotels and Inns that may be vacant in Boston and Cambridge. He was very knowledgeable and had the phone numbers memorized and also quoted their price ranges. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Tiny rooms and untrained reception staff"
The hotel was clean and quiet, but the rooms are very small. The bathroom is exceptionally tiny. One cannot really read in bed, the way the lights are configured - and the bulbs are weak too. The AC controls are governed by a remote -- but (a) there is NO signage to this effect (so I had to call down to the front desk, when I arrived, to find out how […] to turn it on!) and (b) the controls are in Celsius! Really, the hotel couldn't spring for remotes with Fahrenheit controls? My big gripe though is with the front desk staff. They let me daughter join me in my room the first night (she flew in late) without asking for her ID, nor calling me. She just came in, got in the elevator, and came upstairs. No one stopped or questioned her. Then, twice, we needed duplicates of the plastic room "keys"; the staff just made them, again not even checking to see who we were. Additionally, we had breakfast vouchers (a nice touch) but the staff told us that we had to pay $4 extra if we wanted eggs. On Saturday morning, I decided to forgo the eggs -- only to learn that the restaurant offers brunch that day and I could order for free anything off the menu up to $10, which included all the egg dishes ! Does the front desk staff not know this? Finally, when I checked out, I was told that all the breakfasts were free, and so I was never charged for the mornings when I gotten an extra "chit" for eggs. So, why did I even need a ticket to order eggs on the weekdays I was there? I have no idea! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel. Smaller room than expected but it worked out great for my 16 yr old niece and I. Good location. Short walk to the T then couple stops later tight where we needed to be for music festival at city hall. Hotel staff was nice and helpful. Free Coffee making in lobby was a lifesaver. Also has good breakfast at restaurant attached. Must be good […] bar too because pretty busy on Saturday night even thought I didn't go in. All in all great experience and would recommend. Only downside for me was next to the Animal Rescue League so heard dogs barking while sleeping in on Sunday morning with the window open. Not enough to keep me from going back. "Small, cute hotel in a great location of Boston!"
I'd definitely stay at the Chandler Inn again. Location was awesome! So close to everything. One small gripe- the door tag requesting housekeeping service was written in a rather rude manner, in my opinion. I think hotel mgmt. should consider changing those. Other than that, great place ... and the Trophy Room restaurant & bar was great, too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only thing about this hotel that might be a negative would be the size of the bathroom, it was very tiny. Other than that, great stay and the decor was fun too, looked retro.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cozy Hotel in Great Neighborhood"
I loved staying here. It was perfect for just me for a few nights. My only complaint (and it's not really even a complaint, just an observation, I suppose) was how small the bathroom was. It wasn't terrible, but it was a little tight. The walls were also a little thin. Besides these two things, the location was AMAZING and beyond ideal. The staff were […] very pleasant. "Close to everything"
The hotel was ill equipped to handle people who utilized the services. The room was way too small and the bed too hard to be comfortable. There was no closet in which to hang clothing and while this might be acceptable for an overnight stay, it certainly was poor planning for someone who wanted to see Boston longer than 24 hours. We had to order two […] sets of blankets because the one they provided was so thin that it provided no warmth. The TV was inoperable and the hot water did not work on three days as they were experiencing difficulty with the system. All in all it was a most unpleasant stay. "Small but Cozy"
Yes, the room is small, but everything you need is there, including a new, firm Queen bed (most hotels use the shorter, smaller Double bed, TV is high-Def, with a zillion Direct TV channels. "Nice hotel, convenient to center city."
This is a really nice hotel, with helpful staff and a central location. The only issue I had was that the room was slightly musty smelling, something easily rectified by opening a window. The room is clean and the size adequate. Some might find the rooms small, but when you are in a city like Boston, how much time are you really going to spend in the […] hotel room? "clean but small"
Booked on short notice for 6 hour layover. Room was clean but sparse and tiny. Actually hit my head on the sink as I was standing up from toilet. No valet. I was given directions to parking garage 1/2 mile from hotel which could not accommodate my oversize van, in spite of informing desk clerk of my needs. Neighborhood was a bit noisy, and walls seemed […] thin (upon waking, I thought I heard snoring in the next room). Very clean room, but I would not stay here again if I could find a room within 150% of the rate. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Unassuming, quaint hotel"
When I stayed, from the outside the hotel looked very run-down; the lobby, staff didn't offer many amenities or pleasantries. But, the room was comfortable, and it seems to be slowly being upgraded and the set-up in the room is modern and minimalistic. I mean it when I say "minimal" - no closet; just a wardrobe hangar. Very small bathroom w/ shower. The […] best thing about this place, though, is its location! Close to some theaters, shopping, food - very walkable, or a short taxi ride from anywhere you'd want to go. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Stay at the Studios"
Inn not advertised as budget hotel. Off the beaten track - advertised as being in the mix of things to do in Boston. Inside of hotel run down, as are the rooms. Did not look clean. The manager and staff were extremely understanding and helpful. Offered to upgrade to the Studios....around the block and across the street. Studios were recently redone […] and accomodations were clean and comfortable. The biggest issue with the Chandler is the misrepresentation of the Inn online. If you want to stay at an updated, clean place that is centrally located, the Chander Inn is not the place for you. If location is not that important, the Chandler Studio is a nice place to stay.
