I picked this hotel for its location relative to downtown, north Dallas and White Rock Lake. When I travel to Dallas for business, I fly to DAL, work in Plano, and go jogging around the lake, so this hotel met all of my needs. Would stay here again.

The hotel was in a good location with lots of shops and cafes and beautiful neighborhoods around SMU. The suite was reasonalbly priced and included a wonderful restaurant breakfast. The staff was very nice. Plenty of close-in parking. Good computer room. The negatives: room key had to be reprogrammed several times. Carpet had stains. Some mold in grout […] in shower. Very nice hotel; apparently recently renovated (or at least re-decorated). Rooms were very nice and very clean. Lobby was beautiful and the staff, from the front desk to the maid service was very helpful and friendly. The food at their restaurant was excellent and again the wait staff was exceptional. We would definately stay there again on future trips […] to Dallas. The only negative at all was no free wi-fi... even for 'Silver' Hilton Honors members, you had to be of 'Gold' or 'Platinum' status for that. Read more

We have stayed in this hotel many times over the last 8 years. The location is fabulous, the rooms are nicely appointed, the lobby/bar area is a terrific gathering place with multiple seating areas and the free & easily accessible parking all its strongest assets. For a Hotwire.com or Hotels.com special, I have frequently stayed here for a great price […] which makes it a real steal. However, the hotel REALLY needs to update the hotel room floor hallways which have smelled musty and old for some years now and is inconsistent with the overall quality of the hotel. Read more

It was ok except the bathroom did not look very sanitary. There were stains on the bathroom door and tub. The coffee machine was broken. The food was ok but recommend eating out for dinner. The food was ungodly expensive!!!

Upon checking into the hotel, the clerk informed me that they only had a smoking room with two double beds available. I informed him that that was the exact opposite of what I had reserved, and paid in full for, prior to my arrival. He responded, "Well, that's all that we have available." After I informed him that that was unacceptable, he mysteriously […] found a queen, non-smoking room, which is what I had originally reserved. He then gave me my room key without even offering an apology or explanation of the room mix up. The 11th floor smelled like smoke. The room was really dark with only a couple of dim lights. One of the two bed-side lamps was not working. I called the front desk where the phone just rung and rung with no one answering. Finally, after hanging up and calling back a couple of times, someone answered. I asked if someone could come up and fix the second lamp and was told that they would send someone. That "someone" never showed for the two days that I was there. Upon entering the bathroom, I could see a dark film running down the side of the toilet, a brown spot on the bathroom wall, and a hair in the shower. This made me very uncomfortable, and I did not want to stay in this hotel. Unfortunately, I paid in full, in advance for this reservation and I would not be able to get my money back if I checked out early. Had this been more than a 2 night stay for me, I would have bit the bullet and checked out of this place. Terrible. Read more

I got a great deal on this hotel on hotels.com. I was going to be attending dallas market center, so I was concerned about the proximity to that location. It turned out it was about 10-15 mins away, so the drive was not bad at all. Hotel lobby was nice and always clean. Nice hotel bar. Free wifi in the lobby, but not in the rooms. The hotel condition is fine, and so do its facilities and amenities. The front desk, hiwever, is slow in responding to guest needs. They only say they will do it but do not actually do it. The shuttle bus driver can be a bit not on time and patronizing and surely respond well to big tips. The service was wonderful. We got there a couple hours before check-in started and they graciously accommodated us. The room was clean, but dated; however, for the price I wasn't expecting a five star hotel. The one and only very huge problem I have with this stay was the Internet service. I paid an additional $9.95 (per device) and it was so slow that […] it was easier just to use the LTE on my smart phone and not the service I paid for. If you are here on business and strongly need the Internet, I would advise staying elsewhere. Read more

Had a really great trip and the doubletree by Hilton was fantastic! Check in was super fast and easy!! Our room was a little small for the 4 of us staying there and so were the beds - a double bed shared with a 6'4" person is a tight squeeze. Bathrooms were clean. The bar downstairs in the lobby was quite busy and the one guy there was hustling to serve […] everyone. He was still pleasant even though he really needed help. A short time later the manager showed up to help him. It would have been nice if they had a cocktail waitress serving the tables and lovely seating areas around the lobby area. Read more

The bell man doesn't quite have this worked out. He seems to appear just after you've loaded your car on to the cart, then he wants to grab it and take it to get his tip, but he's no where to be found when you need him in the morning.

I live on the 19th floor and there's been noise, some kind of operations of machines, since day 1. I can even hear that at 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning. And the shuttle bus does not pick up customers as claimed; they totally forgot about it. I had to wait at the lobby for minutes to be picked up and "walked back" to the hotel myself from a mall.

You have all heard my beef with Hilton and their $10/night rate to get internet. Come on! Ten years ago it was OK as it was a big pain to link all rooms to a server but now! Piece of cake. The hotel is a sparkling example of a well managed and maintained hotel. I never have any argument or comment on that. The bed, bathroom and room was above the board. […] That said I have to make a rather strange observation. You know how the chains put a chair to sit in while you watch TV? Some even go so far as to get a Lazy-boy but the Double-tree has this awesome leather chair that give perfect support and perfect slope. I loved it! You have to park outside as the covered parking is for the tenants of the neighboring business park. Read more

The hotel is a good value but the rooms are a little worn--the leather on the arms of the chairs is worn off and the bathrooms could use updating due to wear and tear. The hotel staff is great, though, and the location is convenient to many attractions in Dallas.

We decided to go to the Backdoor Comedy Club which we injoyed except for the waitress. She had an attitude. I was upset to find that gratuity had already been added to our check because I was not happy about tipping her. I would like to have seen a bigger selection of things on the menu like burgers or sandwiches.
