La Quinta Inn Tampa Bay St. Petersburg - St. Petersburg

We enjoyed our visit in St. Petersburg Fl. Our hotel was perfect for what we were there for. Great price, very clean! The staff were nice and they are very pet friendly which is important to us. The hotel is not on the beach but only a 7 mile drive. I would definitely stay there again.

They had an outside company in other rooms cleaning carpets that were just about black as other reviewers have noted. The carpet in our room was soiled but not black. Or room (#227) was clean but tight for a king bed.

Worst hotel I ever stayed at. Towels were dirty had to have them changed. Was afraid to sleep in the bed but had no choice. The police were outside our room for the people next door kept us awake most of the night. Do not recommend this hotel for anyone.

Our hotel room smelled like smoke, it looked like one of the beds had been slept on. The carpet pathways were so black in the room I don't think the carpets have EVER been shampoed. We made sure not to even walk on the carpet with our bare feet. The rest of the room was clean. Just outdated. We will never stay there again.

It was an old room and the room reeked of smoke. There is no microwave and no minifrig. The bathtub was old and chipped. Underneath the sink there was a pice of wood used as a skirt...this had a chip the size of my hand. The rug was disgustingly stained. Area was sold out due to a car race in town so for the price and availability the hotel was fine. Beds and TV are upgraded and free WiFi. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast had a nice variety. Area is less desirable but good restaurants just up the street.

I know when you travel with a dog not to expect 5 Star luxury. The neighborhood is industrial, surrounded by car dealerships and bad strip malls. My goal was to never touch the floor of my room. The carpet was FILTHY. The room was adequately outfitted with a nice tv, fridge, microwave and coffee pot. I had the misfortune of staying there during the […] BIG movie award show and that particular channel was 'temporarily" unavailable for 12 hours, so I missed the whole thing. The worst part of my stay occurred at 5 AM when I discovered a PAID OF UNDERWEAR in my bed. Clearly the linens had not been changed from the prior guest. I was mortified and checked out immediately. I went to a MUCH nicer place for a little more money at 6:30 in the morning. The La Quinta staff was helpful and refunded all of my money, but that's a small consolation. I will not be there again. Since I'm an attorney people say I should sue. I won't since I got my money back, but it was a thoroughly disgusting experience. Read more

The carpet was filthy in the first room and it had roaches then I was moved to another room and it had ants and the phone was not working. They did send someone to spray and fix the phone the next day. They did not try to compensate me for the trouble,except to switch rooms again.

I was very disappointed in this hotel. I wasn't looking for a 5 star hotel but this one is a negative 3. I chose this hotel over some other ones because it advertised internet service which is very important to me. First, the internet does not work. I even went the reception area hoping to get better service. When I asked if the service was better […] in the reception area or was there some other place in the hotel I could go to get service, I was told "good luck', which I thought was rude. I was told that there is internet service in this hotel but good luck connecting to it. While sitting in the lobby area to at least see if I could connect to the internet, I learned many personal things about the staff, which I don't think I needed to learn. They were very loud and disturbing. A person would expect some normal noise due to it being a reception area but I don't think what they were talking about was appropriate. Also, my room had mold in it and was not clean at all. They came in and made my bed each day but that was it. I could of done that!!!!!! I don't look for much but just a clean room and internet service. This hotel had neither. I would not recommend it nor will I stay at any La Quinta hotel again. Read more

I will never stay in a LaQunita again. Neither will my sister who had booked a room at the same hotel for the same weekend. Prtty bad when they have to move people around because the roolms are not cleaned. Or, in my case open the door and the cleaning supplies are blocking the entry.

Modest price, modest accomodations. The grounds are well cared for, the room is well cleaned and comfortable. The fixtures in the room need some repair/updating, but the furnishings are reasonable up to date. The location in on a busy commercial street; lots of nearby services but not an attractive locale. The immediate neighbors include a quiet residential […] neighborhood on one side and a car junk yard on the other...the latter is not nearly as problematic as one might initially think. I had asked for a nonsmoking room. The first room I was given was obviously a smoking room; it hit you right in the face when you walked in. So, they gave me a different room--again, being greated by the smell of tobacco when I walked in. Oh, and upon assigning me a second room, I was told there were no other options after that room.The only reason […] I took the second room was that I was extremely tired, it was late, and I had to get up very early the next morning. The surrounding neighborhood was definitely scary when I took a good look around. I saw a lot of people just loitering about the streets with some seemingly questionable activities. During my stay, when I came in late one afternoon, there were 4-5 police cars in front of the hotel. It looked like they were questioning someone out on the street. Then, that same evening, someone renting a room there decided to have a big party and invite all their friends over which finally resulted in the police coming in and running them off. You might wonder why I tolerated more than 1 night there. The one and only reason was that I was hardly in the room as I was in town for a family member who was ill and spent most of my time with them. I've stayed at La Quinta Inns before which were very nice, but this one, I won't go to again nor would I recommend it to anyone. Read more
