The staff is wonderful. The one thing that had problems with is that he is a big boy height and weight and the toilet was to small and too low to the floor for him.

The Scottish Inns Sparta was easy to find and convenient. The room was clean with a clean, comfortable bed. We stayed two nights. We arranged for a third person to stay the second night and we returned that evening to a pleasant surprise. I had expected to find some rickety old cot but instead found what could have been a twin bed. The room was cleaned and rearranged nicely to accommodate the additional bed. Our weekend events were in West Salem and the motel was a convenient direct 15 mile drive down the highway. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast at the restaurant located right in the parking lot. Also a Rootbeer Stand directly across the street.

"Dissapointed"
Our room was located in a building separate from the main hotel. It was old and run down. The chair in the room had a few big stains on it. We tried to get another room but hotel was booked so were stuck there. The beds are very flimsy. If you sit at the edge of the bed, the whole bed almost flips over! There was a loud pounding noise that kept me up […] all night. We believe it was something in the pipes. Breakfast was extremely dissapointing. We waited for over 20 minutes for food but there was one girl and she was slow at re-stocking so we only got a bowl of cereal. There was supposed to be a "hot" breakfast but it was not kept full. "Mediocre at best."
The beds were so hard that my hips were sore from sleeping on my side. For a relatively new hotel, the wallpaper was already peeling off the walls, so that was a bummer. We had a lovely view of a wall and the air conditioning unit. There was no elevator and that was fine for us, but I had to wonder how that passed any kind of building code. I would return to Settle Inn anytime I was in the La Crosse area. Everything was clean in my room, especially the bathroom. A clean bathroom is a must! The staff were very attentive, friendly and always working. I'm a toast and coffee breakfast person but there were waffles, yogurt, fruit, etc. available. Coffee was good. I stayed here for my niece's wedding, and researched many hotels online. La Crosse was very busy that weekend with lots of events going on.
