"Great location in Waikiki"
exceptional customer service at the front desk. Able to check in early and check out late. We even were able to store our luggage and use a courtesy room which helped in a big way with our late evening departure. Great location to beach, shopping, restaurants in Waikiki.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mom, Dad, two sons and two daughters-in-laws"
Our family enjoyed ourselves and your staff was very efficient. The staff got all 3 rooms on the same floor and we appreciated that. The security at night was a welcome and the use of room key to operate the elevator was a plus. The hotel was a convenient location and the parking attendants were great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was close enough to beach to walk. Great location for shopping and dining. Not much in the way of first impressions because the lobby is very small and spare in decor. We requested and got a 9:00 check-in and the front desk was helpful with transportation and shuttle buses. The elevator was slow.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is conveniently located in busy Kuhio Ave and the staff were pleasant. The only issue I had was that at least 2 people had called me at the hotel and left a number of messages for me. I did not return their calls because it appears that my telephone message light was not working.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by OHANA Waikiki Malia Aloha and Mahalo for submitting your review. Thank you for your positive comments regarding our staff. Please accept our apologies for your message light being out of order. We are working with our telephone department on ways to prevent this from happening again. Thank you again for your feedback. "20+ story Motel 6"
This property is no where near a 3 rating or higher. We had a suite with a bedroom which was more room than some places but the fixtures, paint etc. had rust stains and were old. The tub was 3 feet long. The door to the room was via an open area not a enclosed hotel hallway. The parking driveways were marginally larger than my car and this one lane […] access actual has 2 way traffic. they made all four of the guest show ID. The lobby was like checking into a low end international hotel. Overall we were far better off at the Queen Kaploanee (sp?) the next night Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, friendly staff"
I enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were clean and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. When we needed a last-minute room change due to an extra person joining our party, they were really helpful even though the hotel was fully booked. They got us a new room as soon as they could and moved all our stuff for us. It isn't an overly fancy […] hotel, but it had all the basics, was clean and well kept, and the price is good for the location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"good small hotel"
great location near beackwalk, shops and restaurants. Staff very friendly, delivered out lost luggage from the airline at 2 am.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was good except for finding the entrance to the parking garage, and finding out there was a $25 a night charge for parking! I don't understand why the hotel doesn't comp the parking fee for their hotel guests. Your clients should be made aware of hidden charges before hand instead of after the fact!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
very comfortable, was very nice that they gave us a hospitality room to get ready for our flight home.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel closed to beach and tourist attractions"
Convenient located near the beach, shopping center, restaurants and international market. Accessible to transportation. Price very reasonable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mediocre service, spacious room"
Front desk staff just do their job without a smile and very distance to costumer. Not a big deal because you still get the service you need. Very spacious room. We face the city and the sunlight is good. It seems not necessary to choose partial ocean view because your view will be blocked by other hotel doesn't matter how high your room is.Genuine Expedia guest review
Excellent!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very happy with my stay at the Ohana Malia. Room was very clean and people at front desk were very kind and helpful as well as all hotel staff. Location of hotel was also very good, within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I really enjoyed my stay at the Ohana Waikiki Malia. The rooms were clean and the hotel was within walking distance of everything including the beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fine for the location"
Good location, reasonable price, clean rooms. Parking ($25/day) is pricy. Driveway and parking spaces are very tight. Even my subcompact rental car had a hard time getting in and out.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by OHANA Waikiki Malia Aloha and thank you for your four star rating of our hotel. We are happy to read that you found our location good and our rooms reasonably priced and most of all clean. I do apologize for our parking garage as it can be challenging at times. "Good hotel for the price"
The central location is nice, as is the superb staff. The downside is if you get a kitchenette, be prepared not to have glass cups and other items you normally would expect.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by OHANA Waikiki Malia Aloha and thank you for your four star rating. As we are centrally located in Waikiki, we truly appreciate your comment regarding our superb staff. "Ohana Waikiki Malia-a good deal in Honolulu"
The hotel is well located, about three blocks from Waikiki Beach on a main avenue. The room was very clean and the personnel extremely pleasant and helpful. The room had free internet via ethernet cable provided by the hotel, with wi-fi in the lobby. There is a very small pool on the first floor. All in all, a good deal.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, great value"
AC a bit noisy, slow elevators, but the value and location were excellent. Large and quiet rooms. Value is the word.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by OHANA Waikiki Malia Aloha, Thank you for your four star review. Please accept our apology for the slow elevators and noisy AC. We are in the process of general cleaning our rooms which will help us with any noisy ACs. We are happy to read that you found the value and location excellent and our rooms large and quiet. Pool is a joke. Tiny, no possibility of sun hitting it. Get a high floor street is very noisy, Not a bad place to stay if you can't find a good deal somewhere higher rated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by OHANA Waikiki Malia Aloha, Thank you for your four star review. We were very excited a little over a year ago when our pool was installed. Yes, it is small, but we were limited in the amount of space that was available to build it in. We are located in central Waikiki on busy Kuhio Avenue which can be noisy at times. Thank you again for submitting your review. We appreciate your comments. Mahalo, Nora Weatherwax, General Manager

"Close to everything"
It was very nice. We had two rooms. One that was on the 12th floor in one of the new towers. The room was great, with little traffic noise. Balcony was very small though. The second was in one of the older towers on the 4th floor, and was very noisy with the traffic and at times the bar. Response by OHANA Waikiki Malia Aloha, Thank you for your four star rating of our hotel. We are centrally located in Waikiki which does put us close to everything. It is good to read a comment from someone who experienced both the Malia Tower and the Luana Wing during their stay. Being located on the corner of Kuhio Avenue and Royal Hawaiian Avenue can be a busy location with traffic and businesses. Our balconies in our Malia Tower are standing balconies. The balconies in our Luana Wing are quite large. We are located 2 blocks from the beach. We appreciate your comment regarding our staff. I will be sure to let them know that their efforts of portraying the Aloha spirit are being recognized. Mahalo, Nora Weatherwax, General Manager
I reviewed the other comments before I went there so we was prepared to ask for a room that was on the upper floors. I requested a room on the upper flr with a view to avoid the noise that you could here if you are on the lower levels with a view of the street. Our request was granted and we was on the 14th flr. We had a small beautiful view of some […] of the mountains and it was a full moon, lovely. It is in a good location walking distance from the beach, action and stores. The hotel also gives access for a free bus ride around the area. The staff was friendly, took care of our needs and I would return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not for a family, better for a partier."
The Hotel was clean. It is an older Hotel and it has been updated. The price was fair for the area. The noise level at night made it hard to sleep, we were awaken every night of our nine day stay. The parking garage was a night mare with 6 ft. ceilings and very tight corners, we didn't like the twenty dollar charge per day, for parking but expected […] it. We'll look at other options next time, hopefully away from Waikiki Beach. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not what I expected"
The hotel looked good from the outside and in the lobby. The room was another story. It was shabby. The beds weren't comfortable. Definitely not a place to hang out. I did like the kitchenette but it needed a microwave. The location was central and the staff was friendly. The internet did not work which was a disappointment. The elevator was so slow […] that it was much easier to take the stairs. The hotel is in need of serious updating, at least in our wing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I asked before I booked about having a kitchnette mainly microwave. NO microwave as said to me, so call kitchen & sink is very compact. No paper towels. Very Very noisey. The parking for the $20.00 fee being charge is uncall for. Med size car can bearly fit & be able to get in & out of the car. Driving in & out of parking is very very poor. Also plugs […] for curling iron, blower & cell phone charger NONE available only for lights already plugged in. Not a pleasant place for me. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Best value in Waikiki - esp. for seasoned guests!"
This is a great place to stay if you know Waikiki well. Somehow it stays off the radar and gets mediocre ratings - probably from people who are expecting perfection and a view of the beach. But for Oahu-regulars, this place is hard to beat. It's close enough to the canal to take advantage of the free street parking (although the hunt for a spot will […] always be the biggest battle of the day...) yet close enough to walk to the beach or the MANY excellent restaurants nearby. For example Kimukatsu, a superb Japanese dining experience, just opened across the street from the hotel. From floor 11 and up, you get a great view of the ocean (and a great view of the Hilton fireworks on Friday and Saturday at 845pm...). Otherwise, although the views are not spectacular, the freshly updated rooms are very comfortable and the staff is outstanding. The only true problem with the hotel is the wonky elevator system... but after a while it becomes a somewhat charming annoyance that you accept as a tradeoff for the reasonable room rates. This place is probably the best value in Waikiki. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Malia, We would stay again."
The Malia was clean with a helpful staff and great location. The upper south side rooms have a nice view of the city and ocean. "ok for a short stay"
Hotel bed was very big and i slept well. The hotel room was a bit darker than I would like however it was equipped with what i needed. The lifts are so old and very slow. The pool is not worth it, it's too small and maybe ok for kids only. There was one disappointing aspect that I will not forget. I left an art print in the room and went back within […] 30 minutes of checking out to get it as it was important. The housekeeper had already destroyed it and it was not retrievable. Ohana Malia does not attempt to be fancy; there is no monumental architecture. But the desk staff was always warm and gracious and helpful, and the housekeeping staff friendly and efficient. The lanai is only big enough for one chair, but that was fine for a single person. The pool is laughably small, but guests are welcome to use the pools at Ohana […] West with an adjacent bar, and Ohana East which is larger still and open later in the evening. Ohana Malia's location is immediately across the street from The Bus stops, making a car unnecessary to visit museums, Chinatown, or Diamond Head. Even the onsite IHOP is surprisingly pleasant. Be forewarned that internet connections are slow in Waikiki, and Ohana's television offerings are paltry. But who wants to read email or watch tv in Hawai'i? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel, Great Location"
We have stayed in many hotels in Waikiki and this motel should be rated with the bestGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Parking garage called at 10:30 pm"
The hotel is located at the central of the Wakiki. It's very convenient location. But the service is not that great. We got a call from the garage worker at 10:30 pm to ask us to pay the first day $20 parking immediately at the middle of our stay ( we pre-paid 10 days stay). He insisted that we have to go down stair to pay it right away or he is going […] to charge us $30 more ( for the mistake they made. ). It's very rude. When I asked him why he can't call us earlier instead of 11:00 pm to wake me up, he said it's only 10:30 pm and I am only doing my job. Never appologize for calling us at 10:30 pm to wake us up. When my husband went downstair to pay that $20 dollar parking for the first day parking, we just realize how messy is their parking system. We kind of glad to get that out of our way before receiving a huge parking bill for the parking we never used. The hotel charges $20 per night for parking is extremely unreasonable. It's very hard to drive up to ramp to the parking they have and there is $8 to $10 public parking next down or ddown the street. The room we had was in the back and close to lewer st. which is a bar located. We can almost hear the noise remotely every night from 11 floor. The room has a funny smell and at the end of our stay, the house keeper starts giving us older towels. We were out most of time except the last one or two days. I probably will give a better rating if the garage guy who didn't call us at 10:30 pm. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ohana Waikiki Malia - a better hotel than expected"
this hotel belongs to the Outrigger group and yet is one of the best in the area (Kuhio/Lewers) where the Beachwalk is and also in the center of shopping areas. the beach is only a 10-minute walk. the gay bars are just around the corner and a couple of blocks away. the International Market Place is only 3 blocks down. the rooms (Malia Tower) are well […] appointed. probably a little smaller in square footage, but it has a seating area and a small balcony to breathe fresher air. it is centralized air-conditioned. the higher floors are quieter than the lower floors. the staff are nice and warm. beds are always tidied-up. there is no room-service, but there is an IHOP next to the lobby and a sports bar as well. overall my stay in this hotel is more than satisfactory. i will stay there again on my next visit. i will also recommend this to my friends/family.
