The location is unbeatable. It's walkable distance to all major venues in Waikiki. The bus stops and trolley stops are within a block from the hotel. The staff was mostly friendly and pleasant. The rooms were clean. However, there was a $12.95 per day "resort fee" that we were not aware of until we checked in a the front desk. The staff explained that the fee is for the use of pink trolley, in-room coffee and tea, etc. We were a bit taken aback because there was no mentioning of the additional charges when we booked the hotel, and we were not going to go through the hassle of finding another hotel after we arrived. We wish that there was better transparency. We probably would still book this hotel with the resort fee disclosed due to its location. However, we felt that it was not a very good business practice to slam the customers with hidden fees.

Stayed here just one night, very noisy and overcrowded lobby, great front desk staff. Stayed in a double bed room, decor is outdated and beds were twin sized (so small) and the WiFi was terrible! Don't eat at the Ihop downstairs (food is gross). $25 parking fee (seems to be the average for hotels in this area).

This hotel is very close to DFS galleria, trolley stop (pink line), ABC store and so on. But I think this hotel is good for solo getaway and repeater because it is not beside the Waikiki beach.

I went to check in at the Malia and they changed my reservations to the Ohana East Hotel. No one called me to inform of this. It was an Inconvience for me as well and I went to my dinner late because of this.

I stayed in a large, quiet and clean room there for 5 nights. Swimming pool is small, since the hotel is just 2 blocks from beach. I never use the pool. The hotel is not fancy. However, in that price range, it is good enough for me.

Great location, close to the Beach, trolley, and bus lines. Very walkable streets. Staff is friendly and willing to help. Elevators are slow and old. They couldn't find my reservation at the beginning but straightened things out after an hour.

Liked the hotel, location, staff, nice beds, friendly. They held our baggage for a few hours after checkout so we could walk around. The only very very minor thing I had was the pillows were a little flat.

Great location, close to everything. Spacious rooms and 4 twin beds are really nice. My friends all commented how nice the complimentary soaps are, which I have never heard of staying in any other hotels... Service is fast. Bedrooms are clean. However there are some small areas I think needs improvements: 1. No Wifi in the room. There are internet cable but most modern laptops don't come with internet socket any more. 2.Very small bathroom, if you are very tall you might have trouble sitting down on the toilet bowl. And there is not enough counter space to put your toiletries. Also the walls in the bathroom looks dirty. 3. No power sockets next to your beds so you have to leave your phones in the kitchen area when you go to bed. 4. Noise. We were on the third floor so you can hear a lot of noise coming from the street. A double-panel door would be helpful. 5. Parking is $25 a day. 6. We were planning to watch a movie using the TV in the room but the TV is very small and doesn't have HDMI input.

Close to Waikiki (five min ride on free trolley), connected to I-Hop rest (open 24/7), nice jacuzzi, great shower and bed, very clean, good TV, very helpful staff, close to lots of restaurants. And all for a very reasonable rate. The only negative: Wi-fi in lobby, but not in room.

It was a pretty good location, that was the best part about the hotel. It was an okay price, but they charged us over $50 for parking...and it was only for 48 hours. That was a little disappointing. Overall it was okay, not the best...but good for the price.

The room was small, but even with the rollaway bed it was workable. We stayed for an entire week. Us and our two teens. The only down side was the noise. The street noise was 24 hours a day, even with the sliding door closed it was a lot. And we could hear the toilet flush in other rooms. Next time we will book a room on the other side away for the street. All of that being said, the rooms were very clean, the beds comfy, staff very helpful and the location an easy walk to just about everywhere, and if too far, the pink line trolly was easy to access, and free for two people per room key. Yes, we would stay here again and/or recommend to a friend.

Others commented about the parking garage - and yes, it is completely terrifying. However, some of the best staff are there to help you out (and in). I was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, far larger than my normal car, and if I hadn't had their direction (and my mother with her handicap placard) it could have been much worse. The room was comfortable and about the same size as most hotels I stay in. Plus, it had a fridge, which made our stay just perfect. First day there we got drinks and donuts and that lasted us all week long for breakfasts. My mother made mention several times that a light by the closet would have been handy. We also quickly ran out of plugs for charging our 8 devices among 3 travelers, and there are NO plugs that we could find by the bed, so getting up for the alarm on your phone meant running in to the bathroom. We would very likely stay here again, but only if I have a smaller rental car next time!

Parking is a nightmare. The ramps are so narrow, it was very difficult to NOT to hit the sides going around the steep turns - I would strongly recommend a compact or subcompact...this makes navigating something out of a video game! Regarding the room - the bed is rock hard, which I realized now is probably the same throughout all the Ohana hotels - (have stayed at others in the area before). Woke up tight and achey - not good for conducting business. Shower pressure good and lots of hot water. Elevators are very warm with no circulation! And the bar downstairs was very rowdy! Staff was attentive and considerate.

The one bedroom suite was fine for an overnight work trip with two other coworkers. Location was good; very close to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. The parking structure was like an Indiana Jones ride with very narrow driveways connecting the floors; we struggled even with our Toyota Corolla rental.

Room and overall service were great except internet connection in the room. We couldn't connect to internet at the first night of our stay since full house and many guests were connecting (from the explanation by hotel). Of course we could enjoy "not so high" speed internet after once we succeeded to log-in next morning. Overall, we were satisfied with great location, clean room and helpful staffs.

The hotel was definitely not what we expected. When we entered the room, it had a very musty and awful smell. We had to leave the doors and the balcony door open for an hour to try and air the room out but it really did not help too much. There was mold in the ceiling of the bathroom and the fan in the bathroom did not work so the steam from the shower had nowhere to go. This required me to clean the mirror after every shower which was inconvenient. In the morning, I went to make coffee and found someone's old coffee grinds still in the maker which was sort of disgusting to say the least. I gave up on making coffee for the rest of my stay here. There was also lint on the floor behind the couches in the front room area as it appears that housekeeping had ignored to vacuum the whole room. The lamp in the front room had an issue where the bulb dislodges from the base unit so I had t go in and make a repair of this on my own so that the lamp shape would sit upright in the housing as it was supposed to. There were a few other issues but I think you get the point here. I have stayed in "value ranked" hotels in the past that were way better than this hotel and I certainly expected more from a hotel that I paid $189/night for.

Me and my wife stay for one night it was very convenient location and room was clean and nice just a funny smell whe we arrived to the room but after a wile it went away... Maybe from the AC. Overall everything was good.

We stayed at Waikiki for 2 nights before our cruise and 1 night after. For the first 2 nights we stayed at a hotel 1 block from the beach. It was a LOT more expensive than this hotel, and the only difference is the expensive hotel is newer. We wish we had stayed at Ohana Waikiki Malia the whole time. Plus your room card entitles you to the local shuttle for free, which stops at the beach, a huge mall, lots of restaurants.

It was the best stay. Room was clean and comfortable and close to everything so we could just walk to get what we want without fighting all the traffic if we drove. I will book this hotel again on our next trip.
