"Right in the heart of Waikiki"
This is a great, fun hotel right in the heart of the action of Waikiki. The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean and nice. The location is the best part , it is right on Waikiki beach and close walking distance to everything Waikiki has to offer. One disclaimer, and this is not a knock on the hotel itself, but some people don't realize Waikiki is […] a bustling neighborhood of Honolulu, which means it is both loud and crowded. This means you WILL likely hear street noise from your hotel room. I would say if you are wanting quiet relaxation , stay elsewhere in Hawaii and avoid Waikiki. But if you like the action of a city, this hotel is a good choice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel! Great service! Room with an awesome view!! Few steps from the beach :) will definitely stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location for a good price"
Location war great, close to a lot of good restaurants. Across the lobby was the beach. Safe for children with lifeguards everywhere. Safe, Quite and clean. Had a great experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed in room 330. So noisie from outside air conditioner you couldn't here anything else. Never opened slider to sit on lanai. Way overpriced for what you were supposed to have.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, centrally located, with amenities"
The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The concierge, Heather, as phenomenal in planning and executing an amazing itinerary for my teenage daughter and me. The hotel was clean and well (but minimally) appointed (e.g. refrigerator, but no snacks). The location was perfect, with direct beach access, as well as a pool with outdoor (warm) showers. […] Room service was available, but with a limited menu. However, they did supply menus and numbers for restaurants that delivered. The only complicated aspect were the elevators, which required you to use your room key and enter the floor number, which then directed you to one of four elevators (one which was around the corner), and with no buttons inside the elevator and only a digital number read out of the floors on the inside of the door well (which took awhile to locate). Also, the elevators were slow during peak times, so you needed to plan ahead to keep on schedule. The fitness center was adequate (nice ocean view from the elliptical machines), but could also become crowded easily. The best feature was the "Hospitality Room" which was made available to us after check out, so we could enjoy the beach before our flight, and still grab a shower (but you were limited to 15 minutes per person, so it had to be a quick shower:). "Everything was perfect."
The room and the service were excellent. My father (age 86) was with us and they were extremely sensitive to his needs without being patronizing. Food at the restaurants was great even accounting for our varied tastes. Location was right in the middle of everything, and we could walk straight out of the hotel and be right on the beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to beach and main street"

"Beautiful Hotel right on the beach"
Could not afford full ocean view room, but partial view was great - some noise though with the sound of the ocean - you must love the city to love this hotel. Coffee shop on ground floor was a life-saver! Plenty of food and shopping to walk to, don't bother to rent a car...walk or bus!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice central location"

"One of the best locations on the beach"
We stayed in an ocean front room and upgraded to a deluxe at check in with discount. The room was very roomy and the view was excellent.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Best on beach pool location in Wakkiki"
Our stay at the Outrigger was pleasant. We ate at the Hula grill on many occasions and always had good food and service. The location of this hotel is prime being right on the beach and a pool on the beach was very nice also. Our room was nice, but we couldn't enjoy the balcony much due to the noise of the generators directly below and outside our room. […] The concierge was friendly and helpful however, they were not very free with the bus schedule and where to get the bus, every time we asked it was suggested that we take their transportation instead to get there much faster and in style. The bus was very comfortable and easy to take and cheap once we got info on where to catch it. The bus drivers were the best ones to ask. The major downside of this hotel is no shade at the pool at all and they kick you out of the area in front of Dukes at 3pm every day to start setting up for dinner...so that didn't leave Many lounge chairs left. But the worst thing was the pitch being made every single time we walked by the excursion desk to get our "free gift" to get "$100" off your next excursion, to get " free buffet breakfast". This is a sales pitch to sell time shares at their new property. When we said no thanks, they got rude and then continued to make comments each and every time you walk by the desk.....which you will everyday since it's next to the elevator. They also targeted non English speakers and we heard them joking once about how easy it was to hit their quota for the day. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Outrigger/Reef was a perfect fit for our vacation"
Located on the beach and direct access to the main street, Outrigger on the Reef was a perfect fit for our trip to Oahu. We could walk on the beach, walk the main street to Waikiki beach or every other place to learn about and enjoy the vacation. We also liked the centralization of access to the "activity" vehicles to participate in events around the […] island. When we did need to rent a car (one day in seven) the rental car was available within two blocks of the Outrigger. While we could have had breakfast of dinner at many fine establishments, the Hulu Grill, Duke's and the steak house were all excellent. I would not hesitate to return the Outrigger on the Reef of a future Oahu vacation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Close to the beach and shopping"
The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to be on the beach and still be in the middle of shopping and fancy restaurants. If you want a quiet location with no people this is definitely not the place to stay. Wakiki beach is crowded and family friendly. Good place for a family vacation, less so for a romantic one.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent location and kid friendly"
Overall great , loved Dukes restaurant downstairs and centrally located for shopping, dining etc. beach was great and shallow water was warm and perfect for kids but the pool area was small with no waiter service. Be prepared to pay extra for beach beds and umbrellas ($40 a day for a pair) though. Great hotel for kids and would stay there again but […] for a quiter adult vacation would do Maui or Kauai . Spent 10 days at Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. Hotel staff was great. Beach, pool & restaurants, convenience store - right on site. All kinds of additional retail & restaurants/bars within walking distance. Weather & location is perfect.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel service is subpar"
The Outrigger Waikiki is in a prime location situated between two grand old ladies of Waikiki the Royal Hawaiian and the Moana Surfrider. The Outrigger is clean and the room sufficient. However from checking in through our stay the service was poor. When we arrived we went to the bellhop desk and they didn't want to take our luggage and pointed us to […] the elevator. The check in desk is not well marked and we stood there for quite some time while a free employee never offered to help. Another employee eventually checked us in. Again at the tour booking desk we stood there waiting for help while a free employee did nothing and we eventually were helped by another employee. We eventually nicknamed the staff the "surly" staff. We decided to spend as little money possible there and gave our dining business to the other two hotels which were lovely, impeccable and very service oriented. I'd avoid this property ...you can do better for your money elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice location and people"
Pro: clean, next to beach and food of all levels, hot tub, nice service and friendly front desk, surf coach Tony. Front desk let us check in early and change room to accommodate our last minute request and she is very patient! Cons: small swimming pool which is common for hotels at Waikiki. Bathtub is half of regular size, for kids only duke's restaurant […] is the best for price and quality and it is in the hotel, must try! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"It was amazing, everyone so polite and helpful."
My nephew told us to eat at DUKE'S. What he didn't tell us is that it is really a popular restaurant in the hotel. We ate lunch there and it was great and easier to get a table. Surprised that we were so close to the fine shopping. The elevator service was fine rooms clean and again everyone was always there to help.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great beach front hotel!!"
Location and staff were awesome. It's our second stay here and we're definitly coming back. One thing, please update hotel elevator system! It has been updated sine my stay three years ago, but still many times had to wait such a long time both going up and down. Another positive experience was their hospitality room service. We had late flight the […] day of check out and after check out at normal check out time, they let us use private hospitality room for an hour to relax a bit before traveling back to the airport. "Mae at the Front Desk"
My family had an absolutely wonderful mini staycation at your property. Every staff member we came across exuded sincere aloha, from the valets to the housekeeper, who chatted up our kids outside our door with a big, bright smile on her face. No one exemplified this true spirit of aloha and hospitality more than Mae at the front desk. Without the slightest […] hint or suggestion, she began checking for any available upgrades for which we might qualify. My wife nearly collapsed when we opened the door to our room, and we both quickly began taking pictures of the astoundingly beautiful view from the lanai. And each time we passed through the lobby, we were greeted by Mae's big, warm smile and genuine queries into our immediate plans/destination. We will be back ... and we will be looking for Mae! "Enjoyed our stay"
Older but well kept hotel right on the beach. Expensive , but it is Waikiki after all. We upgraded to an ocean view and felt it was well worth it. We had one hotel meal, it was great with wonderful service , but too expensive for regular eating. If you walk inland a little there are more reasonable optionsGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location if you want to be right at Waikiki"
I was in an end room. The room seemed cramped and small. The bathroom had a shower tub, but the tub was almost big enough to provide an infant bath. The bathroom was extremely cramped and small. You could almost turn around in the space. The rest of the room was okay. Most of all you must remember that you are basically only sleeping in the room. The […] most important thing to be considered is cleanliness. The room was clean. The traffic noise was clearly heard even though the windows were closed. Overall, would I stay there again. Hmmmmmm, if I am only concerned with sleeping in the room, yes. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Stay somewhere else."
This place is not good at all. I would recommend people stay at anything else but this. The place is overpriced for what it is. It says 4 star, really a 2 star max. Not a fan of their staff either especially the concierge. However their Valet guys are not included in this group - they are really nice and informative.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best experience ever!!"
I can't say enough about the location, staff, facilities and entertainment. I loved it! I will stay there on any future trip I take to Hawaii!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel right on the beach in Waikiki"
There are many great hotels in Waikiki but there are few that are right on the beach. If you are there to enjoy the beach, the Outrigger Waikiki On the Beach is perfectly located. You can sit on a lounge chair inches from the sand enjoying the beautiful views of the beach with the convenience of bar and food service that you can charge to your room. […] The beach in front of the hotel is at the widest part of Waikiki beach so there is plenty of room for lounge chairs and blankets. The hotel is also the home of Duke's Canoe Club, which is my favorite restaurant in Waikiki. This open air restaurant with spectacular views of the beach is so relaxing and you may even get a visit from some birds who will walk by your table. The food, especially the fish dishes are excellent and they are accompanied by a great salad bar. For a snack or lite lunch, their Waikiki hot wings are unique and a favorite of mine. The service at the hotel was friendly and accommodating. After we checked out, they offered a hospitality suite so that we could change and freshen up before heading to the airport. "for the price there are many better hotels .."
we did not have our room cleaned 1 time.. also they charged us for a movie in room and when i looked at the date it was the day we checked in which was around 1 pm and we arrived we went to shower and then lunch so did not even make sense. you can not open the Balcony the noise of the hotel machine fans will not let u hear anything. street noise is […] normal. can not open curtain cause there was always workers from other hotel on roof looking into your room. for a hotel that charges that high of price a proper Clock would be great or atleast one that can connect your Ipod too. Next time we will def stay another hotel on beach this was a mistake. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Booked this awesome hotel for my moms visit to Oahu.. I could go on and on about how great the hotel and staff were.. No need for that.. Just trust it from a Hotel and Restaurant snob... Amazing from A to Z!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent location for both beach goers and shoppers. There was a steel drum player in front of the International Markey playing till kinda late at night. The breakfast at a restaurant on the 2nd floor was nice and they've got a nicer veiw than the one on the 1st floor.Genuine Expedia guest review
Traffic in Waikiki was much worse than previous stays. It was a real deterrent to going anywhere by car. As much as we love being on the beach and at Duke's, I don't think we would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
awesome place to stay, easy beach access, activities, friendly staff and great places to eat.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Deluxe room not so deluxe"
Took my mom to Hawaii for her 80th birthday. Booked a "deluxe" oceanfront room. I requested two beds, non-smoking, only to arrive and be told that deluxe rooms only come with one bed and a roll-away won't fit. The Outrigger did offer to downgrade our room (with no refund of the price difference). Really? Needless to say, we kept our 14th floor room […] and insisted on a roll-away. I used it by sleeping on the balcony. The room was small. No where other than the bed to sit. The view, however, was wonderful. Too hot in the afternoon to enjoy the balcony, but sunrise and sunset made for perfect viewing. With Duke's, the beach and nearby attractions, the rooms can be a bit noisy at night.
